Clean Cheap Best Location in Rangoon”

Location, Price, Cleanliness

At first I was hesitant bacause many people complain about Daddy Hotel, It was a simple very clean room with a lovely lavender color in a colonial building, I had no fridge or TV but a clean bed with good mattress and good linen which was perfect for me because I just wanted to sleep there. The breakfast I liked and if you are patient they bring out more and more and those that complain are crazy because the price is so so cheap it is amazing that they throw in breakfast too. Ok outside the back of the hotel is not so clean but the surroundings of even 5 star hotels in Rangoon is often not clean in the downtown area and those wanting clean surroundings should not stay downtown where all the action is but stay in a clean quiet suburb of Rangoon where there are many hotels too. I have been to Rangoon dozens of times over the years and stayed at many hotels and if you want somewhere very nice but very cheap then Daddy's Home is the best choice and if you do not like it then there are better hotels but the problem is they cost more than double easily. Surprisingly they also gave me bottles of spring water and a hair-dryer and let me borrow various things like phone charger (forgot it again!) and let me use their dining room to eat my takeaway biriyani and their kitchen to make my cocktails (Mandalay Rum, Sugar Cane juice and Lemon) from ingredients I bought in the supermarket for 2$ (yes top quality Myanmar Rum is only 1US$ a litre) Bottom line is if you are on a budget but want something better than the bug infested guest houses down town then cheak out Daddy's Home for a real Rangoon Downtown home from home.

Slightly run down but good location ”

Good location, hot showers, nice breakfast

Daddy's Home is a little run down but in a really good location. Our room was a twin room, the beds were comfortable, but the floor tiles were cracked and the air conditioner didn't work very well - it cooled the room beautifully, but it was also very noisy and threw out large chunks of ice at points throughout the night! The communal shower rooms were quite clean and the showers were fantastic - very basic set up but lots of very hot water and great water pressure! Breakfast is good, with lots of fresh fruit, eggs, toast, coffee, tea, and a daily selection of local snacks. Good place for a budget traveller looking for somewhere near the sites.

Would not stay there again”

Location

My stay at Daddy's home was slightly below average. The rooms were not the cleanest upon arrival, and the air condintioners were full of mold. After my 2 night stay at the hotel I realized that I had been bitten by some type of bug or bugs all over my back. I will say that the staff was friendly and willing to help me out with any of my request that I had.

Good price, breakfast, wifi, hot shower

We stayed there only for one night , it was a pleasure night, center located with easy access to everywhere. The hotel staffs is very very helpful and friendly , they can speak good English. Breakfast is just ok, room is clean but the toilet is needed to be upgrade because water will spray out from the door. It is among one for the cheapest hotel in town, good for budget traveller.

Good value for money given its location”

location, price, staff

On arrival I got upgraded to a better room with the warning that it is going to be a bit noisy. Noisy it was, but fair enough given the warning. The room was decently clean but there was a strong smell of some sort of cleaning agent. Overall the stay was not exactly pleasant, but decent. The location of the hotel is superb, and the staff very friendly. If you are looking for something cheap in the city centre, this is a good choice, if you don't mind an average room and a noisy environment

Damp rooms! Corridor gets rain water!”

Location.

One of the most memorable places I stayed in. Not in the positive way. Rain water gets into the building and the hallway becomes slippery and the staff did not bother to mop the floor or get them dry for 2 days! The AC never worked, ever! The room is damp (not just because of the rains) due to the AC dripping on one of the two beds. The WIFI hardly works. And worst, while I was waiting for my ride to the train station, I was surfing the net at the lobby. Since I already checked out, the lady counter staff switched off the wifi router (I saw her do it as the router is just on the top of the counter). She was so rude! Will never return back to this hotel even if it is for free!
