"Holiday Inn Darling Harbour Hotel is located very very near the Paddy's Market and walking distance to Darling Harbour and business buildings which makes the hotel very ideal for both business and leisure and inexpensive shopping. In addition, all the staff are friendly and very helpful. Got also upgrade to family room even without a request which makes the stay more worthwhile and enjoyable. Also, staff are accommodating, my request for weigh in of my luggage was granted with a smile. Also, we were able to check in earlier than the 2pm hotel check in time which enable us to freshen up before we attend to our plans for the day. Choice of buffet breakfast is not much comparable to the other hotel but as it is already included in the room price, it is a very much value for money good breakfast. Only downside is internet is available only for a fee. Overall, Holiday Inn Darling Harbour is a very much good hotel to stay in Sydney."

"Excellent, friendly service by all staff members. Stylish and comfortable rooms with superb views of the harbour. Complimentary water and coffee in the room with a large TV and indulgent rain shower. Infinity pool with an outlook of the city and harbour was Insta worthy! Located in a prime position in Darling Harbour with easy walking distance to CBD and transport. The only negative was the terrible pillows. "

"Located very close to Darling Harbour and the QV building, but also walking distance to Circular Quay...very convenient and great location. This is not a fancy hotel, but the rooms have everything that is needed and very large TVs. Unfortunately, the gym wasn't accessible as they were undergoing renovations...but this is a positive going forward. The staff were very helpful, cheery and friendly. "

"Our stay was wonderful. The room, although small, was very clean and comfortable. The rooms were serviced daily. Breakfast each morning was delicious and plentiful. The hotel overall was very clean and staff were professional at all times. Clerical staff were informative and helpful. Would I stay at Ibis Sydney Darling Harbour Hotel again - most definitely. The hotel's location could not have been better, so close to Darling Harbour and all the sights and so close to the Mall and CBD."

"Central Sydney at peak season means it is very challenging to get great accommodation and service at a reasonable cost. In these circumstances the Novotel performed exceptionally well. The views over Darling Harbour would be very difficult to beat and the location offers the very best opportunity to explore Darling Harbour. The rooms are perhaps a little past their best and the facilities are definitely 4 rather than 5 star - but the value for money is very good for central Sydney. The general manager went out of his way to help with a couple of extra touches which made our stay very special - such commitment to customer service is rare and is an attitude which was shown by all the staff we met. Very highly recommended. "

"We really loved staying here. We stayed with our 4 children and it was perfect for us. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment and found it very comfortable and practical. It was very easy to get to darling harbour via the connecting foot bridge. We liked how the house keeping came in everyday and replaced our towels and made our beds, its make our stay feel very neat and tidy and fresh. We would definitely stay here again. We Recommend it to anyone wanting nice, reasonably priced accommodation in darling harbour. Some people might find the building very different, but we recommend reading the history of the building first. We did and it made us love and appreciate it beauty so much more! "

"We stayed in the Parkroyal Darling Harbour Hotel in Sydney only for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is very modern, clean and nice. Checkin was easy and friendly. The rooms are large, modern, clean and the bathroom very nice. Just the view to the back of the hotel is nothing. Breakfast was fantastic with fresh fruits, fruit juice, huge choice of food (bread, sausages, egg station, Asian food, cereals etc) which is really nice!! The gym is a bit small but sufficient. Overall we can totally recommend the hotel. Of course DArling Harbour is a convenient and nice location with bars, shops, restaurants, sights etc all over. "

"We stayed in a one-bedroom suite for four nights. Everything went as planned. Staff on the desk were lovely and excellent overall, friendly and there for assistance when we needed (I think we had Jere on reception). The room was quick cleaned daily which is all it needed. The room was large, clean and had everything you would need for a longer stay. A Bluetooth speaker or similar would have been a nice edition. The balcony door was heavy to open and close even for a pretty well-built bloke like me. But overall, we were happy. I made use of the gym which had above average hotel standard equipment. The location was great. About 200 - 300m from Town Hall station. Chinatown / Haymarket just down the road for Asian if you want it. Darling Harbour pretty much a block away, QVB and other shopping a 5 – 10 minute walk up the hill. There were a few pubs and bars within walking in the nearby streets I felt we got a good rate, it was good value for money. Would stay here again pretty happily."

More about Darling Harbour

The Darling Harbor precinct is one of Sydney city center's most attractive for tourists. Located on the edge of the Central Business District – the CBD – it was developed around Cockle Bay predominantly as an entertainment zone with many restaurants, shops and bars. The Darling Harbor precinct encompasses Cockle Bay Wharf, King Street Wharf, Pyrmont, parts of Chinatown and Cockle Bay, a relatively small cove that opens up to Sydney Harbor.

There are many points of interest for the visitor to Darling Harbor. On the city side, King Street Wharf offers upscale restaurants, Sydney Aquarium, a ferry wharf (exclusively for cruises rather than commuters), stylish bars, the LG Imax theater (the largest in the world) and the iconic Home nightclub, a popular after-hours destination for music lovers.

Moving around the bay to the west is Tumbalong Park, Sydney Convention and Exhibition Center and Sydney Entertainment Center, where the city's major concerts and music events are staged. On the opposite side of Cockle Bay lies the Harborside Shopping Center, a large shopping mall with a high concentration of souvenir shops and food outlets. The National Maritime Museum is adjacent to this shopping mall.

Further west, visitors will find Star City Casino – the only casino in the city – and the Lyric Theatre, home to stage shows and concerts. Darling Harbor precinct extends to Pyrmont where Sydney Fish Market is located. Seafood is a staple of Sydney cuisine and here visitors will find it at its most fresh, affordable and abundant.

The Darling Harbor area links to Sydney city center by light rail, a tram that runs through Pyrmont to the inner western suburb of Lilyfield. There is also a monorail that links the hotels on the western side to the city center, doing a circuit through the CBD that is used almost exclusively by tourists.
