There are MUCH better places availabe in saam roi yod for this price. 1st of all the location is bad, it's VERY far from the beach and if you don't have vehicle you have a long walk on an open road with no shade in baking hot sun with no sidewalk. As far as the facility itself, it's one of the worse - run places I've stayed in 2 years of travelling around Asia. When we arrived at 8:30 pm after a long day travelling, the owner looked annoyed by our interruption. He didn't greet us in any way, not even a hello. They speak no english whatsoever, and don't seem to care one way or the other about hospitality. The room is nice but many facilities did not work. My shower never got above tepid at best, and was often cold. The AC was cold but could not be adjusted up and down. Wifi good. I stayed five days and not ONCE did they offer to clean my room or even change my bath towels. After 5 days I was still using the same towels and had to ask for new ones. They have nothing to offer in terms of food and you are a LONG walk from anything to eat. They do not even offer a laundry service. During the day the only staff member available is the 14 year old son of the owner, who's primary interest is in playing video games on a laptop. He also doesn't speak a word of interest and not surprisingly is as apathetic as his father about providing help. I found out later there is a mom and pop place that offers laundry down the road. How hard would it have been for the hotel to simply take my laundry and drop it there? Apparently, EXTREMELY hard. This place sucked. No surprise now why we were the only guests the entire 5 days we were there. Saam Roi Yod has MUCH better to offer for this price, and I'm guessing this place won't stay in business much longer. At least I certainly hope not. Avoid.
