Easy walk to and from Central Station. Easy to find in Dixon Street. Central to everything; Darling Harbour , Paddy's Market and all shopping and eating in Haymarket and George St Sydney. The facilities are well above average for the cost and extremely clean ( despite the appearance of the street level entrance to the building ). The reception staff are friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the complimentary toiletries are better than that provided at more expensive establishments. Two bottles of refrigerated mineral water are also complimentary. (I didn't even get a glass of water from the 'luxury suite' I have just returned from in Cairns - they didn't even have the air con on for my arrival ). So comparatively, for the price, Dixon Residences are customer comfort focused and above standard.

Value for money”
Left a 4* hotel at end of special deal cruise for Dixon Residences so we could stay longer in Sydney, the Residence is ideally situated in China Town Darling Harbour, the room has everything we needed plus a laundry and a dining area for preparing and eating your own food. Better still it's 15m from Eating World a fantastic Asian food market where you can eat fab food at a very affordable price. Will I go again Definitely if we revisit Sydney

Great stay A+”
Have already recommended Dixon Residences to others. Clean room and comfortable beds. Spacious bathroom and roomy cupboard. Very friendly staff upon check in. Great central location right in the heart of Chinatown and close to Darling Harbour and CBD. Slightly noisy in the early morning but who really wants to sleep in when you have only a couple of days to explore Sydney and surrounds. Price, Cleanliness and Location A+ for me. I will definitely stay again. My Granddaughter and I had a great stay. Thanks.

Great location. ”
Great location to most everything- food, bank, darling harbour, Sydney ICC, etc. but it's hard to locate by taxi and it's hard if you have plenty of luggages because Dixon Residence is in the 3rd and 4th floor. The ramp is not good enough. Other than that good.

Great Location”
We have stayed at the Dixon Residences twice now and have found it to be a very good hotel. Although the entrance is not that inviting the hotel accommodation is modern and clean. The staff is very helpful. Our only concern this time was that the room was a little difficult to navigate with a sizable pillar next to the bed and the bed stuck up against the wall making it difficult to get out off easily. There was also building work taking place in a restaurant which is in the same building as the hotel. There was quite a bit of noise in the morning. These negatives apart, we like the hotel because of its location and the fact that we have stayed there before in a much better designed room. We plan to stay there again in the not too far distant future and are hoping to be able to get a better room.

Dixon Residence”
Dixon Residence is a budget priced accomodation in the heart of China Town. It is closely located to many great eating and shopping options and great public transport. It is very clean and serviced every second day. Potential customers should consider night time noise as there is a karaoke bar within the building, but this is to be expected given the location.

Exceptional considering it was cheap ”
So i paid $80 per night for a private room in the cbd just off chinatown and close to darling harbour. Very convenient. The room was clean and beds comfortable (extra pillows would be awesome). Ensuite bathroom was clean with towels supplied. Shower could do with a thorough clean, but i've seen worse in hotels in syd cbd that charge more than double this per night - was not a big deal. Unlimited wifi, fast enough to stream tv shows and download. Tv, small fridge and freezer and kettle. Daily bottled water supplied and daily cleaning service. For this price i'd stay again in a second. Nowhere in cbd even compares price vs amenities wise. I stayed sunday to weds and did not hear the Karaoke. Communal kitchen available with basic cooking and laundry ($4per load). Didn't see a dryer tho. Happily recommend to stay here as backpacker or bnb alternative up to $100 per night. No chance you'll find a private room with ensuite in better condition or value.

An ideal accommodation for backpacker ”
Value for money: This hotel is located in an ideal place which is inside Chinatown, just 5 minutes to walk to Chinese Friendship Garden, Darling Harbour or Hay Market, especially Light Rail station. Moreover, if you go from the airport by bus called Ready2Go, it takes you about 5 minutes from the place you are dropped of. You just just right to the Factory St and go up, this hotel is on your right ( in a small building). Cleanliness: this hotel is new and very clean, may the main colour is white so it seem to new and attractive. So I feel totally satisfied to choose this hotel as my accommodation for our trip. Facilities: As my room, it is fully equipped with king bed, small fridge, electric kettle, draw and private bathroom,... Of all them are new and clean. In particularly, this hotel has kitchen room where you can cook your meal everyday. Very convenient and save. About staff: Maybe all of them can speak Vietnamese, which makes me feel warm in a new country. They are very friendly, helpful and kind. Thanks for giving us a nice trip!

Budget ”
If you are looking for a very budget place to stay without any frills than this is the place. The Entrance is in Factory St (don't be put off by the entry to the Residence as it is quite grotty) only a couple of steps from the famous lion entry of Dixon St. Rooms are very small and are located on Level 3 and 4. Elevator, Clean linen, one pillow per person. Coffee/tea making. TV, toiletries. Chinese food eateries everywhere. Patty's Market is about 100mtrs away and situated under a shopping centre with IGA etc. World Tower is also close and houses a large shopping centre, Coles etc. Catch the Hop on Hop off near the Chinese Gardens...a must to see. Easy walk to Darling Harbour and attractions.

Awesome value for money ”
The entrance is on Factory Street. IUnder $300 for 3 nights. Clean refurbished room. I saw lots of complaints after I booked the room and was really worried, but am really happy with our experience. We are minutes away from Darling Harbour, plenty of places to eat and drink. Looks like they are refurbishing in the hallways and the lift doesn’t stink! Yes there’s a little street noise, but you are also booking a room in the CBD and Chinatown... there is bound to be noise! I recommend this place if you want to spend your money on other things other than on the place you literally have a sleep in.

Great value for money at a great location!”
The place is great value for sure and right at the heart of Chinatown. This means that it is easy to get to tourist spots like Darling Harbour and Opera House. It was a little hard to find because of the small sign but other than that, I would totally book and be back here if ever I am in Sydney again.

Great location but!”
Ni draft review aku for Dixon - Sydney 1. It was hard to locate at first. Google map won’t properly direct you the location. Add up with no proper signage of the hotel. After lingering the area I accidentally saw the signage. 2. Greeting you with 2 step stairs (parents with stroller take note) was the small and smelly entrance. 3. The front office small but was okay. The room was extremely small. I bet they used “extra wide angle” camera. All the pictures uploaded in Agoda did not properly portray the actual size of the room or fair to say it were all misleading. For solo traveler size of the room is acceptable but with kids. The struggle was REAL. Luckily our prams were foldable. 4. I booked 2 rooms. The 1st one was okay. Clean. But the 2nd room was dusty. There was bad smell in the toilet especially when the water flows in the drainage. 5. They only collected rubbish as their service. Nothing more. 6. Location- great. Easy access to train/tram station. Easy access to the city center, Darling Harbour, Paddy’s Market, Convenience store are all over the place, Woolworth, Chemist. 7. Many options for Halal food for Muslims despite the location at the center of China Town. 8. Great deal for solo traveler or traveler without kids.

Very reasonably priced in convenient location. ”
Hotel was easy to locate on Factory Street. Staff member was helpful and showed us to our room. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was well renovated. The walls could have done with a clean but everything else was clean and well presented. Location was so convenient to Darling Harbour and the International Convention Centre. Lots of wonderful eateries close by. The only thing I wasn’t fond of was that it was a bit noisy with a Karaoke club nearby that you could hear till around 12.45am and the early morning garbage trucks . For the price and convenience of the location I would certainly be happy to stay here again but woukd pack a pair of earplugs,

Little Gem”
Don’t let the entrance to the building turn you off. Once you get to the 4th floor where reception is, the place is clean and bright. Great friendly, helpful service and a decent size room. It was clean, although the windows could do with a scrub, and comfy, but very simple. Not for everyone I would imagine, but great for me. WiFi was perfect, great little fridge/freezer and a TV. I didn’t use the TV so I have no idea about the reception. I had a great nights sleep and the location is excellent. You have a million restaurants around the area and it’s a short stroll to the markets. My room looked out onto Dixon St. and a leafy view of the treetops. Close to transport and everything really. I would definitely stay here again.

Very good”
The Dixon Residences are conveniently located in the area known as Chinatown so there are plenty of food courts etc nearby selling a wide range of Asian dishes. At weekends there can be some noise from bars but it's tolerable. The coffee shop downstairs is now vacant but there plenty of other places to have breakfast. Several attractions are maybe 30 minutes walking distance away and the nearest train station, Central, is less than 15 minutes walk away. The wifi was reasonably fast and the room was cleaned and well maintained every day. There was a fridge in the room plus a kettle, tea, coffee provisions and hairdrier. It's not a Travel Lodge so don't expect a large reception manned 24/7. Out of hours you have a key and contact#. There is just a small side entrance with a few steps to an elevator which takes reception located on the 4th floor. Rooms are on either the 3rd or 4th floor. So quite basic in terms of reception but staff are helpful. Represents fair value accommodation.

Excellent”
I stayed with them for 7 nighys. The reception ladies are very helpful. My room is small in size, but it has basic things i needed. The rate is very low compare to other hotel. At this price, you will not expected luxury room bla bla. Because i am here for a budget travel. So the room is acceptable for me. Level 4 is quiet on the night, i didn't hear any noise from street at all. It is very closed to.chinatown, i felt it is very very safe place to stay. I went out at night, nothing bad happened to me. Sydney is safe place as long as you dont go to some strange alley at night. Once again, if you are after a luxury accommodation with fancy fancy rooms, this is not the place you are after. However, if you just after a cheap accommodation for sleep in Sydney. This is the one.

Visiting Sydney prior to cruise”
It was a case of not judging the book by the cover. Ground floor is disused restaurant not a very good approach but The rooms are on the 3rd and 4th floor which are excellent value for the money, clean comfortable beds. There is a community kitchen with kettle and microwave, tea and biscuits were supplied. The premise is on the corner of Dixon St & Factory St 10 metres from Chinatown. Taxi will not drop you in either Factory Lane but at the Holiday Inn just a very short walk away.

Happy stay and friendly staff”
Great location in Chinatown. It is quite hard to locate the hotel in a lane for the first day arrival. This one can be improved. It is very close to Haymarket and darling Harbour. Supermarket and chemist warehouse are not too far. Overall is good and happy stay. I will stay there once I go to Sydney again.

Very good”
For value for what we paid...cleanliness...location and quiet.... The Dixon Residences were excellent. The actual living part of the room was small but the bathroom was very spacey and modern.Finding the entrance to the Dixon Residences was a problem as it not in Dixon St and the sign naming the property is up high.We couldn't fault it for a one night stay.

Great location”
Had two great night stay in Dixon Residence. The location is good, surrounded by a lot of Chinese cuisine. Just around 15 mins walk to darling harbour and less than 10 mins walk to city.
