It's really no other option to stay here. Host tried to help as much as he can. But the facility is very limited. There is bus 60/ 60a from Hakodate JR and alighting at Hondori Shogkako mae, then walking 5 mins.

For the price, wasn't bad. Just saying that could be way better. The shower floor mat was always wet and with hair. The toilet was not clean enough and with no Washlet that's is strange see in 2018. The beds wasn't bad, you can sleep decently. Some lamps wasn't working and need be exchanged. Bus stop, only one bus each hour... but is not the owner's fault. To Goryokoku park, 15 minutes walking. Otherwise nothing relevant around the place. Have convenience store close to the dormitory. For the price and mostly only for sleep I would say wasn't bad. Have micdrowave and fridge. But can be improved, or better saying need improvements. By the way, Hakodate have only two "very low budget" places. Dormitory SilSil and LimeLight. SilSil was way better than LimeLight in every aspect. LimeLight is a pure dirty trash small hole. If someone want save money and a place for sleep, SilSil is the only choice right now.

Great place to rest”
Not for people who like to complain. I enjoyed a nice tim in the kotatsu. The host tries to make it as friendly as possible, but you have to consider that it's a cold area and that is not a 5 star hotel. The duve was thick and confortable, the best rest I had in Japan so far.

Be prepare to be camping outdoor in the cold”
The owner has limited English & if you really really an outdoorsy, then you may like this place for its cost since the whole house was not heat at all. I need to sleep with my full blow snowboarding outfit along with double ski hat in order to stay a little warm but still a bit uncomfortable since I was breathing in near zero degree C cold air at night while I was attempted to sleep.

In wintertime, the landlord will charge you some fees (heater fee) equivalent to 300 Japanese Yen, which seems reasonable, but does not appear in the guest house description when you make a booking.

this place feels more like a home than a hostel. there's even a heated table (kotatzu). it's a quiet place in a quiet neighborhood.

집 분위기가 독특합니다. 약간 앤티크 하달까.. 시설은 매우 좋은 편은 아니지만, 대개의 일본 숙소가 그렇듯 갖출 것은 다 갖추어져 있습니다. 개인적으로는 약간 조용하고 다운된 분위기라고 느꼈습니다. 가격이 저렴한 것이 장점이고, 짐이 많은 여행객이라면 가까운 역(고료카쿠)에서 걸어 가는 것은 좀 힘듭니다.

老闆算是親切，感覺就是一般住家感，一樓的房睡下舖有聞到一點味，不知是與上舖的隔板還是棉被發出，地點算近五霖郭，但離車站及舊城大部分景點遠，看完夜景九點多就沒公車回住處
