The area is a bit quiet (but definitely safe). 5-8 min walking distance to streets with restaurants and convenient store. Parking is not at the premise, have to cross the street. I had problem with the parking ticket, which i parked my car first and walk over to check in. So i enter the parking structure and received the ticket. When i check in, the staff asked me to pay 1200yen for parking and gave me another ticket to get out of the structure when I leave. Next day, of course I cannot exit the lot with the ticket they gave me, because it did not register any entrance. So i used my original ticket to exit the lot, and I have to pay 2400yen. Then drive back to the hotel and explain what happened. Great that the staff refunded me 2400yen. But it is quite a hassle to drive back and park in their driveway.

Amazing hot spring!”
Normal sized rooms (for a Japanese hotel), no smell of smoke which is a big plus. Free ramen served in the restaurant between 21:00 and midnight! There are two hot spring rooms, a mixed gender and a female only one. I only went in the female one and it was lovely, a very hot inside bath and a cooler outside bath that overlooked the ocean, 10 floors up! It was a saltwater onsen, too, which is rather rare. The location is fine, it's about a 10 minute walk from the station and easy to find since it's right next to the Yume Tower. There's not much else to do or any restaurants close by, though. But you could just stay at the hotel and relax! All in all, this is a great choice. It's inexpensive but with all the fixings. I'd definitely stay at a Dormy Inn again.

Very Nice Hotel with Onsen ”
Very quiet and peaceful town area. Hotel is located at a walkable distance to the JR train station. Hotel staff are very friendly and the facilities are very clean. There is a onsen on the top floor of the hotel that's open all night. Also there is a laundry machine that's free of charge but the dryer is coin operated. Room is decently spacious and very clean. There are no other tall buildings next to the hotel so the view out the window is pretty nice all around.

Dormy Inn Premium Shimonoseki met my high expectations for Dormy Inn hotels all over Japan. Good breakfast, nice location, hot bath, no-smoking rooms (!!), and welcoming staff.

Dormy Inn in Shimonoseki is good as expected as Dormy's usual standard. I was satisfied with my stay here. Hot spring at top floor is very comfortable. Will choose again in my next trip to Japan and will definately recommend it to friends as well! Thank you guys!

Excellent stopover for Tokyo enroute to Busan”
Dormy Inn at Shimonoseki is a good short stopover after a long east coast JR tour stretching from Hokkaido through Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Horoshima, Fukuoka before ending in Shimonoseki before crossing over to Busan, South Korea by ferry. The Dormy Inn area is basically quiet with no major distraction. The free and very clean Japanese bath at the roof top provide an excellent opportunity to recuperate for another long tour in South Korea. The hotel is ideally situated close and with short walking distance from the Shimonoseki Train Station and to the Shimonoseki International Ferry Terminal where you can board ferry to either Busan or Qingtao, China.

This hotel locate within 5 minutes from Bukan ferry terminal at Shimonoseki. There is a good Pacingko that named Eiraku and mart within 3 minutes from hotel. I used to hot spring on top floor in the hotel which is salt hot water.

Close to port, helpful staff ”
Staff were very helpful and spoke some English. They printed out a bus trip schedule for us which was essential. There is only wired access to the Internet in the rooms, however, there are 2 computers in the foyer which are available for use. The breakfast was tasty and had a wide range of options. The hotel is walking distance from most of the surrounding sites - we walked back from Mt. Hinoyama. It is also in a great location for a morning jog as it is right on the waterfront. The free shuttle to the train and from the ferry are also useful. Dormy Inn was not excellent introduction to Japan.

Excellent Stay Friendly Staff Comfortable Hotel”
This was an excellent stay. The Hotel is clean and well maintained. The staff is very courteous and professional. The onsen on the 10th Floor is amazing. We don't bring ammenaties when we stay at Dormy Inn because they have quality products from POLA. The room is comfortable with a large shower. They even have a free hotel shuttle that will bring you to the aquarium or the station.

Staff were very helpful, transport to local station not Shin Shimonoseki. Taxi to Shin Shimonoseki costs about 2000 yen, taxi easier if you have a lot of luggage. Onsen was a wonderful find, separate male &female baths.
