Perfect for backpackers with demands”
First of all: Tonsai Beach is the Mekka for climbers. If you are just looking for a fashionable resort to relax, this is not your place. Tonsai has only bars with a strong alternative vibe, reaggae music and rural atmosphere. The beach is full of dead corals and rocks and the tide ist very strong, so half of the day there is no water. Because of land speculation (2014?) the've torn down all the bars by the beach and built a wall all around town. I was quite shocked when I arrived. But the climbers didnt give up. The wall is full of cool graffiti now and it's still the most relaxing place. The Dream Valley is the only resort with a pool and some kind of luxury at Tonsai. We had a deluxe bungalow with garden view, which we loved very much. The new bungalows by the pool are more popular, but they are just made of wood, what means, during the day they get hot very fast (there's no electricity and no ac between 11am and 4pm) and at night you can hear the reaggae music of the bars behind. The staff of the resort was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Breakfast is very good.

Comfort and luxury in a beautiful location”
Ton Sai is one of the world's few remaining uncrowded, heart-breakingly beautiful, laid-back places with a rock climber/adventurer/yogi/hippie vibe. If you enjoy that vibe but also like some comfort, this is the place for you. Two large swimming pools, delicious buffet breakfast so classy and extensive you almost certainly won't need lunch, large, well-designed rooms, beautiful landscaping, good wi-fi... And for us at least, it wasn't that more expensive than other accommodation at Ton Sai that was very basic indeed. Only downside: as everywhere at Ton Sai except the ridiculously snooty gated resort, there is no electricity between 10 am and 5 pm (though wi-fi still works fine, and you can recharge your phone at reception at all times.)

Great - if you can get an Agoda deal!”
My friends and I split this three ways for $28USD/night... which was a great deal. It's incredibly clean, staff are friendly, has decent Wifi in the pool and lobby. THere's no electricity anywhere on the island outside of 6PM-6AM so don't worry about that! You get picked up at the pier in a little golf cart... true luxury in comparison to the majority of the bare bones bungalows on the island. You can get pretty good deals for very rudimentary lodging (300-400baht/night), but returning to Dream Valley and its lovely pool after climbing was a real treat.

Exceptional”
Everything was great. Only thing was that the aircon only work from 5pm to 10am (which is not necessarily bad, but could’ve been mentioned beforehand). Other than that I really enjoyed my stay at dream valley resort!

Very nice resort at Ton Sai Beach”
This Resort is really nice! We had a superior bungalow with aircondition. The bungalow is really nice, bathroom is ok but warm water was always available. The pool is very nice and clean, there is even a children area. We did not use the breakfast in the Hotel as there are nice restaurants in the near. Ton Sai is more alternative. If someone expects luxuary, he has to go to Relai Beach. But for climbers with some request for comfort this Hotel is perfect.

Super relaxing ”
Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Dream Valley Resort in Tonsai. Rooms were clean, bed was comfy and the pool was awesome.

One of the more comfortable places to stay on Tonsai”
Tonsai can be a little rough. Dream valley has a variety of different room types. I stayed in two different bungalows and one apartment. The pool is really nice to have as tonsai is HOT. Although dream valley may not live up to certain western/European standards overall it was a comfortable stay for me. The staff, especially the two receptionists were so helpful and very funny which made up for any shortcomings I dealt with in my time here. If I end up on Tonsai I would stay here again.

One of the best Spots in Ton Sai”
Dream Valley Resort has a nice mix of room types. It is one the nicest places to stay and as far as I know the only one with a swimming pool ... useful given the sea on the Ton Sai side isn't super attractive!

Great Place! ”
This place was perfect for what I was in need of at the time. After 3 weeks of hostel stays around SE Asia I needed some private time. The room was spacious, the AC was cold and the water was warm in the shower- 2 bottles of water provided daily and coffee/tea. The only downfall, in a small sense, was that the electricity is turned off from 10am-5pm. But I am pretty sure this is mandatory for the entire Ton Sai beach area. I would absolutely stay here again! The pool is SO relaxing.

Excellent”
Super lovely place to stay. This is where you stay in Ton Sai if you want good facilities - pool, minimart, good WiFi, cleaning etc. The staff were great and so friendly. We were only doing to stay for two nights but ended up extending daily for a week! Great choice of traditional wooden bungalows, more modern stone bungalow or hotel-esque rooms so there’s something for all tastes. Totally recommend

Great resort in a great location”
We booked Dream Valley Resort last minute on the same day we arrived. The resort is about 200 yards from the beach on a road with loads of brilliant charismatic bars. The area is fantastic and there is a trail that you can follow around a cliff to Railay Beach in about 20 mins. The room itself was simple but perfect for what we wanted. The pool was really nice and the breakfast was great too.

Pool makes up for other shortcomings”
In Tonsai there have always been many budget options in very simple accomodation. So Dream Valley with the only pool in this bay and decent, solid rooms and bungalows offers a lot more luxury (aircon, wifi in the room, cleaning). Despite the comparatively high prices you only have electricity between 5pm and 10am. Breakfast comes at an extra THB200. Staff is friendly but mostly, their English is quite limited. Rooms are cleaned every 2 days and you’ll have 2 bottles of water, toiletries and toilet paper renewed. The wifi is working fine. The bathroom is very basic and I had the occasional cockroach running around - but then you are staying in the jungle where this quite normal.

The Paradise of Hippies Haven. ”
It was very pleasant staying in this hotel. Especially location is great to reach out Reilay beach and Pra Nang beach with a day walking distances. It has a beautiful mountain view from the swimming pool. But the only thing that unacceptable was sun-beds. They are too old and shabby its cover of plastic sheets are all worn out with holes so that the sponges inside spout water out when you sit on it. So disgusting. But good location to deli shop and a few hippie restaurants are in next door. Quiet and beautiful location for budget travellers. Also rock climbing cliffs are on this Ton Sai beach side and can enjoy watching this sports. The Ton Sai beach is just next to the most beautiful Reilay beach where the beach goers can be relaxed and swimming there.

Clean, friendly staff, beautiful view”
Dream valley was great, I would stay there again and recommend it to friends. We got bathrobes and slippers. One of the nicest hotels out of the 6 we stayed at on our trip backpacking Thailand

Comfortable cheap stay”
I loved staying at the Dream Valley Resort. The room wasn't the cleanest but the staff were friendly and the hotel has the only swimming pool in Tonsai and is surprisingly modern for this location. Price was great and I would happily stay here again as I will probably go back as this location is one of Thailands hidden Gems.

Nice enough accommodation in a not-so-nice place place”
We stayed in a bungalow, which was basic but nice. The two small pools are also nice features. However we didn't like tonsai very much, which inevitably coloured our stay at dream valley. It's a naturally beautiful place but unfortunately a developer or someone has bought a load of land in the middle of the place and built a horrible ugly wall, meaning that you have a long walk to get to the beach. The vibe in tonsai was quite cliquey we felt - lots of people who have been several times seem to hang around in groups, while many of the locals seemed unhappy (maybe sick of the types of people who come to tonsai?), and this gave the place an unfriendly vibe. I think if you're dead keen on climbing then it's still a good place to go, but Railay seemed friendlier - that's where I'd stay if I could do it again.

Amazing!!”
Tonsai quickly became one of our favorite places in Thailand, and we loved our stay at the Dream Valley Resort. My boyfriend and I stayed in one of their bungalows looking out over the pool. When we arrived we found out our room hadn't been cleaned yet, so they got the key to the bungalow next door and switched us over immediately. Room was clean and the pool was lovely! Breakfast has a lot of variety and had great coffee! The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the beach, but it is an easy walk. Tonsai is a big rock climbers destination, so there is lots to see and do while your here!

A great place to stay”
Overall we really enjoyed staying at Dream Valley Resort. Tonsai beach is an amazing place and Dream Valley Resort is by far the nicest place to stay on Tonsai.

Very nice resort”
We really enjoyed the resort! Theres a beautiful pool, cool bungalows, nice rooms, but the bathroom isn't the nicest. Average bathroom for a Thai budget place, but compared to the rest of the resort, it could be better. Ton sai beach is a cool chilled hippie beach, a hike from Railay, and there's a wall that separates the village from the beach which is a little disappointing.

Rooms were great but power off during day”
Our room was perfect and we loved our balcony looking out at all of the beautiful plants and the pool. I had read that the power at the resort was off for several hours a day, but then my fiance and I both got food poisoning on two separate days, and not having AC, lights in the room, or the ability to take a heated shower while dealing with food poisoning was a bit of a bummer. Overall seemed to maybe even be nicest resort in Ton Sai, but next time we may just head for Railay so we have the ability to have power all day (if needed) and access to nicer food options. We came for the climbing we weren't looking for much, but the poor sanitation on the Ton Sai part of the island certainly was a bummer.
