"I have tried two other famous 4 star hotels in Bali and i can say with full confidence that this hotel deserves to have a 5th star! Very clean rooms, towels, linens etc. Spotless. Very helpful and excited staff. Place feels luxurious. Super delicious with variety breakfast and room service. I complained about a neighbor being noisy and they did their best to control the situation and also offered me to sleep in a another room for the night. The next day, I found a hand written letter on my bed from the manager expressing his apologies, which really made me appreciate the customer service they have. "

"Best hotel in Bali. I felt really special and welcomed by staff. Staff welcomed us with flower garland while entering the hotel. Staff were really friendly, helpful and always smiling. I booked this hotel because both rimba and ayana have beautiful pools , restaurants and priority access to rock bar. Being the guest of Rimba we were given the best seat at rock bar. I would highly recommend this hotel. I cannot thank enough to the hotel and staff. We checked out at 12:00 but we had flight at 20:00. Staff allowed us to stay at the hotel and use all the facilities. This really made our day. "

"This was my third trip to Bali since first visiting in 1977.I've stayed in quite a few hotels in Bali and would recommend this establishment very highly.Certainly it is a quieter and nicer venue than most (in this price range)in the Kuta area.We preferred to stay a little further out from the bustle and noise of Kuta.It has great grounds and a good quality/size pool. The hotel's shuttle will take you to Kuta but you must make your own way back.A metered taxi costs an average of 50,000 rupiah, (and about US$5 doesn't break the bank). I would recommend it and stay there again.Great shopping can be had between Kuta and the hotel. Nearby resturants are cheap an well worthy of a visit."

"We stayed in Bali for 10 days, and stayed in three different areas and hotels. Ayana is the best one. The price more expensive than others, but we thinking it's value for money. We do enjoy the time we spend in Ayana. Nice resturANT, Good breakfast, a lot of choices. THe rock bar just located in Ayana, so you don't have to wait. The staff in Ayana very nice, friendly, and professinal. The room is nice and clean. Beatiful view from our room, even in raining day. The spa was good, very relex. We think Ayana will be the only hotel we will stay when we come to Bali again. After Ayana, we have changed to another 5 star hotel in Ubud, the hotel in ubud is also good, but compare to Ayana, Ayana liked a 6 star hotel in Bali."

"Booked a Family Suite for 2 nights initially with the intention of completing the remaining of my Bali trip at another hotel nearer to the Airport. However, the Suite was so luxurious, clean and comfortable (comfy beds, big toilets, cable television, mini kitchen etc) that everyone including the kids voted to extend and we ended up staying at the resort for 4 straight nights. Kudos to all the resort staff for their impeccable service and always ensuring that we are well taken care of throughout our stay. Breakfast spread was great and we also tried their delectable lunch menu on our first day. The resort is located a fair distance away from external amenities but this should not be a big problem as transportation in Bali is still quite affordable and most of the time, we either hire a driver for a full day or get a Grab. Keep it up! "

"Like most of the hotels in Bali, its always great value for the money, that is, if you come from abroad. The location is a mixed blessing, while its right across from the beach, there is basically nothing to speak of in the vicinity, other than a few seafood places with mediocre service and inflated prices. Staff are great, again, Balinese hospitality!!"

"At first, I was disappointed with the Haven. It was bad enough that my room wasn't ready upon my arrival, but they stuck me in a slightly depressing room with two twin beds because nothing else was available. (Check out my first impression on my blog To their credit, they offered to move me to a room with a king bed on my second night, and boy am I glad they did! The hotel has two entrances and two sections, and my new room had a more upscale interior design, and it was on the quiet side, near the entrance without heavy motorbike traffic and the one that's closest to the beach. Room No. 2 was comfortable and beautiful: big bathroom, nice poolside terrace and incredible bathroom amenities. My only complaint was that the Wi Fi could be painfully slow, but at least it worked. Of all the four-star Bali hotels I booked on Agoda, the Haven is the one that comes closest to maintaining four-star U.S. standards."

"The hotel is nice. The rooms are large. Staff are lovely as they always are in any hotel in Bali. Breakfast was fairly ordinary somehow I always seemed to be the person who's order they forgot or they brought me cold tea. This seems to happen to me a lot though ;) We ate breakfast elsewhere for the remainder of our visit after 3 mornings of issues. We were there during the big earthquake and despite the room on the 3rd floor rocking like crazy the building didn't appear to have any cracks in it afterwards so that was reassuring."

"Only stayed one night after landing in Bali before heading to other areas in Bali. Hotel was grand, felt slightly luxurious for the price and the pool was nice. Seminyak square where there are plenty of smart and delicious restaurants is only 15 minute walk. Would recommend to anyone staying in seminyak on a budget but wanted slight luxury."

"This boutique hotel is located between Poppies 1 & 2 with only the road separating you from the beach. Inside it is a quiet place with one very nice pool area and winding garden walkways. As soon as you step onto the street you have so many shopping, market, eating and beach options all within meters. So much to choose from and the best of both worlds in busy Kuta. Staff are fabulous, the breakfast is extensive for a boutique hotel and there is plenty of space both at breakfast and around the pool. We booked a premium cottage, location was only 20 meters or so from the pool and so quiet. Room size was big enough with a small lounge inside plus a balcony lounge. Garden view was lovely and the room was very clean, in Bali style even though a little dated. We were really impressed with this great small hotel and would highly recommend it as very cost effective accommodation with great service and we have stayed in many different hotels, resort hotels and villas previously in Bali"

More about Bali

Bali is a world away from the rest of Indonesia, and a longtime favorite with international travelers. Surfers have been coming here since the 1930s, but it wasn't until the 1960s that surfing vacations to Bali became the popular thing to do. Today, the trend continues and Bali sees as many surfers as it does affluent resort tourists.

Indonesia may have the world's largest Muslim population, but Bali fosters its own distinct culture. Hinduism has flourished here for nearly 2,000 years. Away from the beaches are fascinating Hindu temples, cultural exhibitions, terraced rice fields, and colorful festivals.

Kuta is the busiest resort district in Bali, featuring some of the top luxury hotels in Bali. Behind the main waterfront is a spread of budget guesthouses that are still within easy walking distance of the beach. From here it's a short trip by taxi or rented motorbike to Uluwatu, a massive limestone peninsula jutting out in the sea. Tourists visit Uluwatu to see the temple, go surfing, or watch the sunset over the majestic cliffs.

Legian is another must-see, as it offers an excellent surf along with exciting nightlife along the beach. Life in Legian begins and ends on the beach. Surf shops give lessons by day, and then give way to lively bars and live music venues after sunset. There is a reason that Bali is often referred to as paradise, and much of it is evidenced by a visit to the many beaches.
