"We always enjoy any opportunity to stay at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Yangon. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff are pleasant, helpful and efficient, and the morning breakfast buffet is massive and delicious. Also the location in downtown in Yangon means that many sites and shopping outlets are within walking distance. "

"3rd hotel in Yangon, Myanmar for the past 1 1/2 yrs and this is the best hotel. It is near the airport, clean, new and modern. The roof top bar is one of the few good place to relax and entertain. Negative: the water pressure is low and the shower curtain used is not in line with the modern image. "

"What attracted me to the place at the beginning was their collection of artworks from local artists! I love art galleries and my visit to Pansodan gallery in Yangon obviously only further piqued my interest. Then their European style accommodation area was also stunning as well! And they look exactly the same with the photos! Their rooms look a bit small from the outside but were actually spacious when you get into it. Our Superior Room had a living section with a sofa and a TV, then twin beds and 1 huge bathroom with a bathtub! It was heaven! Their menu has a bit for every cuisine and on top of a very affordable price, was delicious and fulfiling too! It's a great change to have dishes that weren't so heavily seasoned as our attempt with Myanmar curry-heavy dishes didn't do our stomach very well. The staffs were very promptly helpful too. Whenever we had a request, they would deliver/come to us shortly, either via phone or in person. And the airport is only within 10 mins walk too!"

"I traveled to Myanmar with my family. We stayed in Yangon for 2 nights, flew out to Bagan, then came back to spend one more night in Yangon. Both times we stayed in Yangon, we stayed at Esperado Lake View Hotel. The hotel is nicely located, easily accessible to taxis where for about $2 you can get to downtown. The rooms were very nice - newly renovated with modern and comfortable facilities. The bathrooms were huge, and the beds and linens were new. The rooms are definitely worth more than we paid. The staff were probably the best thing about the hotel. They were very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond whatever we asked. We plan to visit Yangon again, and whenever we do, we will be sure to stay in Esperado Lake Hotel."

"Have stayed at Pandora twice now. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. Everyone goes out of the way to help you and ensure that you experience the best Yangon has to offer. The food is amazing and rooms are very clean. Insein train station is nearby and provides cheap and interesting passage into the city. Would highly recommend."

"From the moment i drove into the hotel the feeling was completely different to other Yangon hotels & even hotels in developed countries. The space, tranquility, hotel layout (beside the largest lake in Yangon) & service, deserved special mention. Large impressive lobby. Room facing the largest lake in Yangon, clean, orderly, strong wifi ...... just nice for business traveller. Breakfast was adequate, staff very helpful, fully equip gym, indoor & outdoor pool, Korean & Chinese restaurant but the bar at the top floor need more life. Thoroughly enjoyed by 2 night stay & will definitely come back."

"Well designed new hotel in an old street of downtown Yangon, you would not expect this place here. It is right around the corner from Sule Pagoda and City Hall and within walking distance of the Junction City mall, Chinatown and many old colonial buildings. Taxis are right around the corner. The place looks smart. Rooms are not very big, but are well planned and are very clean and comfy. Breakfast is among the best we had in Myanmar and the rooftopbar is a very nice extra, great to go for a drink or some food at night (even though the view is not really spectacula. Staff is very friendly and helpful."

"Surprisingly very good. I chose to stay here because I had an early morning flight to Naypyitaw and noticed on AGODA it had a swimming pool. If I were in Yangon for other purposes I would not stay here but as a hotel close to the airport it very good. The best thing of course is the attentiveness of the staff. I have reached the conclusion no matter how good or bad a hotel is if the hotel has good staff that is its most important attribute."

"This is absolutely new hotel in Yangon! Everything works well. The room is nice and clean. Staff are all friendly and good English speaking. Breakfast PS: Its too new. They don't have babycot yet, but they said will provide it soon. Overall enjoy my stay :)"

Yangon is no longer the capital of Myanmar, but the city still feels like the center of the country. This could be due to its history as the capital, or the familiar British colonial architecture that makes it stand out from the rest of the country.

The city is served by Yangon International Airport, which is 30 minutes outside the city. Most of the hotels near Yangon are in the city center, where well-priced rooms include many budget and mid-range options. Tourists are expected to pay in US dollars, especially in finer establishments with generators that are immune to the otherwise common power outages.

The definitive site in Yangon is Shwedagon Pagoda, which crests Singuttara Hill. A pagoda in some form has stood here since the 6th century, and local legend insists the legacy goes back much farther than that.
