"Highly recommended. Professional front desk. Answered my emails promptly. Good location. Mini mall attached, with lots of eateries (recommend Crystal Jade and Toast Box) and NTUC supermarket. Good for morning walks too. Hotel is appx. 1 km (uphill) from Novena MRT station/ Novena Square mall, so shuttle bus is a big help (usually every 30 mins., except for lunchtime when its a 90 min gap). Good location, only 1 MRT stop from Scotts/Orchard Road area. Rooms are on the small side, but for the price, I have paid a lot worse in worse off locations. Hands down, best value hotel in Singapore. Save your money for Don Don Donki Japanese megastore "

"We find our stay in Royal Hotel is a very convenient and satisfying during April 9-12. The comfort we benefited are among others 1) the unique good food at the hotel 2) Hotel Royal is the center of everything we plan to go (a) visit our eldest son in a boarding jr college in Bishan near the junction8 MRT, (b) during last Easter and maybe our next destination on Christmas the hotel is within walking distance for the Novena catholic church,(c) the most important for fast and safe transport is the hotel is only minutes away from Novena' MRT. (d) Some Department stores nearby for instance the Novena Plaza (it has a basketball court for teens now) are also good alternatives if you are many many time went to Orchard. Surprisingly we find the budget Mustafa Department store is also close by to the hotel by taxi. (e) the famous Newton Circus food center is also close by and also a number of street foods / seafood across the Novena Church plus those unmentionable in the area. In the hotel and a few step from the hotel you will find a good nitelife. Our family (54 y.o, 16 y.o., 18 y.o & 50 y.o) overall rating this hotel is Excellent ! "

"Don't believe any bad reviews you read about this place - it's nearly brand new; it is very clean and is only a 10-15 min walk max to Novena metro. When people complain in their reviews about small things (re: not enough floor space for all their luggage; some small stain on corner of the mattress sheet) you must remember this is Singapore: hotels are expensive, and this is the absolute best value you are going to get for this price range. If you want spacious rooms with a full shower/bath, stay in a more expensive hotel. But this is by far best budget hotel I've ever stayed in. About the area: There is a great hawkers' market for food right across the street (and several on the walk to Novena MRT). Balestier Road has lots of local restaurants and is a 30 min plesant walk from Little India. Great location, ended up staying here 5 nights and would definitely stay here again."

"Good location. Small mall beside with large supermarket, food court & bread, easy to get taxi and uber. Aprox. 4 bus stops away from 2 MRT stations (Toa Payoh and Novena). Hotel provides free shuttle bus and also the moderate rate for large group transportation."

"I went to Singapore the other day for a weekend escape with my mom. We planned to try something different by staying away from the hectic Orchard Road to somewhere we never knew before. I checked in internet and found this new hotel, I read the review and was interested because the rates are friendly for our pocket. This Hotel was super clean, the receptionist staff proceeded our booking so fast. In front of the hotel, there were an ATM machine, 24hrs convenience store, and most importantly, a bus stop, just took around 10 minutes to hop into #124 bus heading to orchard road. If u want to take the MRT, hop into the same bus heading to newton or novena station, took about 5minutes to go there by bus. if u want to walk from hotel to novena MRT station, it took approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Other thing that u might consider is the size of the shower room. Unfortunately, the shower room was small, convenience for taking shower but all things will get wet when u shower (like the sink, the closet-no curtain). Also, we could hear other room's noises when we were in our own room. However, my mom and I enjoyed our stay in Value Hotel Balestier :) will come back for our next short weekend getaway because this hotel is value for money and super clean. Really valuable just like its name :)"

"We stayed in both Fragrance Balestier and Fragrance Rose during our stay in Singapore.(Availability and Agoda Discounts made us shift from one location to the other twice) And we enjoyed staying in both... However Hotel Fragrance Balestier has more comfortable and spacious rooms than Rose. The customer service received in both venues are exceptional and highly respected. Specially Aunty Jessica and Manager Micheal was very thoughtful, friendly and supportive throghout.... Selecting the best suited rooms for us ( as we had few big size luggages, they were kindenough to upgrade the rooms to superior loft and deluxe twin when ever possible) GRAB taxi bookings done by Micheal were affordable. From room boy to manager everyone in the hotel were helpful. Hawker centre, close by offers veriety of chineese food at an affordable rate. Bus stop close by is the easier and faster way to travel than the MRT. Clean Bed linen and Comforting rooms makes Fragrance chain standout from the rest! "

"It was a great experience staying in Ibis Novena hotel. It is just some minute walking to Novena MRT station and we (my mother, myself and a group of children and nephew from 7-11 years old) found it so convenient. The staff are friendly and helpful. As I will have to come back to Singapore for many times in near future, I had decided to stay at this hotel for all coming visits. However, I felt something untransperent with the taxi cost to Changi airport. That morning, I asked the front desk officer about the taxi and remember she told me it would be 20 something SGD or 30 something SGD for a big cab (we have 6 persons) from hotel to Changi airport. I had checked with her because I thought it would be more. She said "No, it's only 25 minutes from hear to airport". Then, the taxi driver said it was 55 SGD :( I was too rush and did not want to miss the flight so I đi not to double check with hotel."

"The stay at fragrance hotel was a last minute decision. It was booked the night before the stay. Was expecting some hiccups due to last minute booking but surprisingly there was none. The room was clean and the aircon is cold. Wifi has good strength as well. Cheers is located just right outside the hotel which creates some convenience for midnight snack craving. Overall it is a good stay for the price. The receptionist is very friendly. One con would be the location. For non drivers, one would have to switch bus from newton or novena mrt. If this is not a problem for you, I would recommend this hotel for a short stay. "

"We've been in Singapore several times, most of the time we stayed in Bugis, Little India, or East Coast. We hesitated to stay here at first, seeing as we're not familiar with Balestier and Novena district. We're glad we stayed though. Right next to the hotel is the bus stop, where you can easily transfer to Novena MRT Station. In the vicinity of this hotel there are Balestier Market (houses lots of delicious hawker food), Rochor Beancurd House (open till 1 a.m.), Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice (open almost 24 hours), McD (open till 1 a.m.), and 7-Eleven. The only thing you should worry about is choosing what you'd like to eat now. Receptionists are very nice and polite, they helped us check in earlier and provided mask (there was smoke haze due to forest fires). The amenities are impressive for a 2-star hotel, such as coffee and premium tea, electric kettles, shower cap, and hair dryer. Housekeepers are nice and polite, too. We always find our room in perfect condition. The bathroom can be improved though, there was a small black mold spot on the inside of the bathroom door frame. All in all, it's well worth the price of the stay. We'll definitely stay here again."

"The room is small. The bathroom is miniscule. However, for us the location was perfect because we were in Singapore under sad circumstance - to see our brother at Tan Tock Seng hospital. It's a short bus ride to Novena Square then a short walk to TTSH. Novena square is also where you can catch the MRT. The bus stop is also just a few meters from the hotel."
