          What a wonderful surprise!”

          I wasn't sure how this would be since the photographs are not great - but what a beautiful, wonderful place, with such kind hosts! Take and his wife are so incredibly kind. The food which seemed expensive is INCREDIBLE. Better than most restaurants I ate in. Well worth the extra money. And the location was great for a photographer - right near the whooper swans, an hour from the cranes and 1.5 hours from Kushiro. The onsen is very, very nice as well. I would come back just to stay here again!

          Great breakfast dinner ”

          The breakfast and dinner were very well thought out. A lot of pride is put into making your experience very homey and welcoming. The bedroom is cosy, not 5-star but decorated like a home/lodge - feels slightly European somehow. The view from the window at breakfast is unbelievably peaceful. The outdoor onsen is fun - probably not as grand as some onsen hotels out there, but the trees and birds accompany you. The room walls are a bit thin as per most Japanese homes, so you may hear sounds from the house, but still very good sleep. I would return here again if I could and if I had more time I would like to stay longer. It is very near the beautiful lakes kussharo and mashu, as well as a great ramen shop.
