pleasant stay, short distance to MRT and Bugis”

I travelled to Singapore from Johor Bahru, It was our first time travel crossing the borders, so it was a long journey before we approached our stay at Bugis. I travelled with my mom, so comfort and easy access become an important aspect in searching for a budget hotel in Singapore. I picked Fragrance because of my personal reference, before this i had slept in one of Fragrance hotels and i was impressed by it's cleanliness and nice beds. Overall I was happy with the room, it was small.. but we almost spend the day outside so we have no problem with the small space. It was important for us to have a nice sleep after a long walk in Singapore, so comfortable bed was the best in this stay. I slept like a baby, it was quite busy and noisy in the morning... but at night it was quite. My bad about this hotel was the bathroom. It was so small, very very small... it made me laughed when i saw it... but surprisingly, the space is all i need for showering... minus all the water splash there-here haha... one thing i love is,,, it's very close to the Bugis MRT (green/blue line)... plus Bugis is great area for shopping too hahaha,,, because we used MRT to go to Changi Airport, it was a good thing that Bugis MRT has a green line straight to the airport... so we didn't have to changed lines to reach the destination... it's heavy caring a lot of luggage. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a budget hotel within the city and you are mostly be outside the hotel most of the time in your visit... If you tend to stay in a long period, i recommend to upgrade the room into deluxe, because it's much bigger, you won't feel too claustrophobic :) plus the deluxe should have a window... from what i saw from the Fragrance website.

small but clean”

Yes the room is really small, but for the price i paid (SG standard) totally worth it. Make sure you booked a room with a window (picture window which is almost as big as the wall- nice). I cant imagine how it will be if its that small with no window. Bathroom is small but clean. Problem is no partition so when you shower, the whole bathroom/toilet floor is wet. But it dries pretty quick. And again, its clean so im fine with that. Location is winner. Fast walker - 5 min to bugis mrt. Average speed walker- 10min. Plus the bugis station has a grocery/department store. And alot of hawkers nearby so dining is never a problem. Lastly, if you expect for full service, hotel like facilities, then u may be disapointed. But if you expect it to be a buget hotel, since its what it really is, then it will exceed your expectation. Will recommend and go back.

Excellent budget hotel >3.5* great location bed”

I had a great stay there. It rated itself as a 2* hotel but its underestimated and I would rate it as a 3.5*. Since I thought its just a normal budget hotel under Fragrance group, I regret I stayed for one night only. That was my fds' birthday and staff greeted my fd. Its normal for other hotels but I didnt expect it would happen in this budget one. It has small bathroom and toliet but its expected in Singapore and acceptable for me. Bed and pillows is excellent and much better than those named as 4stars. Great loction, abt 5mins walking distance with Bugis mrt, walking distance to malls and food markets.

2nd time stay there ”

This is my 2nd time to stay at Fragrance Bugis which is good location, and good value of money. It's not so expensive because I know in Singapore all hotels are expensive at lease $100. But this time I try to get $60 included tax from Agoda. The room is clean, TV, hair drier, water, tea or coffee... the staffs are still friendly with nice smile. Location is near Bugis Juction or Bugis Street, easy for shopping and MRT to go everywhere we want. I recommend to all friends who come to Singapore, can stay at Fragrance Bugis. Next time I will stay there again. Thanks

Clean room and convenient location”

fragrance hotel bugis must be a relatively new hotel as taxi drivers not aware of it's existence. nevertheless, right smack on middle road, it's not hard for taxi to find. the room is clean and comfortable. i reckon it's value for money thru what i paid at agoda. i always like to stay near bugis junction as you get plenty of food choices and mrt for moving around sg conveniently. highly recommended.

Great value for money”

We booked this hotel as we were attending an Expo at the Suntec Centre for four days. This hotel was within walking distance so it was conveniently located. It was one of the least expensive options however it was probably the best budget hotel I have stayed in Singapore. It is 100% better than last years (more expensive choice) only 100 further away. The room is what you expect from Singapore, small, however it was clean, comfortable with good internet and will be booking this hotel again for next years expo. If you are aware that you are getting a budget hotel then this will not disappoint. Good job guys.

Review - Fragrance Hotel Bugis”

I enjoyed my stay at the Fragrance Hotel. The staff were friendly and always welcoming. They also helped me book a ticket for the Night Safari which was convenient. I asked for an adapter ti be able to plug in my charger and they lent me one free of charge. On my last night I was also able to borrow a scale to weigh all my luggage. In terms of location, it is very convenient and budget friendly. I was able to walk to Bugis Junction, Bugis Street, Arab Street, Haji Lane and the Singapore Art Museum. Catching a taxi to Merlion Park and Gardens by the Bay wasn't an issue as it was within close proximity so I didn't spend much on transport during my stay. I'd recommend this hotel to the lone traveler who needs a central location that is easy to navigate from and around. I would also recommend it to those who are seeking an adventure on a budget. In terms of cleanliness, the cleaners do a pretty neat job and did well in continuously re-stocking coffee, tea, water, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc. My stay at Fragrance was great!

Perfect location albeit small rooms”

real value for money in a very expensive city. location cannot be more perfect: a stone's throw to bugis mrt station and bugis junction with many shops and restaurants; 24hr 7-eleven is next door; marina bay is just 10 minutes walk; orchard road is also easily reached. staff were friendly and helpful. room was spotlessly clean although a bit small (not that bad, i'd had smaller rooms in several hotels in europe) and mine had no view at all. but i was staying in singapore only 1 night to attend a concert, so all i need was a clean room to rest, and this hotel was really a bargain. it also has a chinese restaurant on the ground floor if you need a bite but don't want to step out. will definitely recommend this for a short stay.

Comfortable and accessible to Mrt Bugis station”

My stay in Fragrance Bugis is great. It is near Bugis Junction Mall and Mrt Bugis station which gives us accessibility to all the major tourist destinations in Singapore. There is also a 711 store beside the hotel for easy access to our needs like drinks and other necessities. We'd surely stay again in Fragrance when we travel back to SG.

Family budget hotel”

It was a great experience staying in Fragrance hotel Bugis. I read the review before so I was expecting the small room, but yet we got surprised to see how small it was when we got to the hotel. It was really really small..however it was just naturally suitable for us 4 since we all have small figures. The 4 of us can squeezed comfortably in the bed, which is very nice, not too soft nor too hard, and everything we needed was there, the kettle, towels, toiletries, coffee and tea..all in that small room. The channel of the TV was also something that we appreciate, they got HBO and kids channel, some budget hotels don't bother to have these.The Air conditioner temperature got very cold at night but we can adjust it without fuss.The blanket was soft and really warming us when cold, the water heater got the perfect water for us, hot water all day all night. Very good service, they cleaned our room everyday and changed the towels and other supplies. Many Indonesian stayed in Fragrance so we felt like home,thx Fragrance Bugis for the nice stay.

Good location relatively cheap hotel near MRT”

We availed of a deluxe room with free wifi, no breakfast. Wifi was okay, room was clean, small as expected, there was a window, at least you could look out from the room. We slept well. There was a TV, hot water, coffee mugs, coffee and tea sachets, a ref to store cold drinks, complimentary 2 small bottles of water. The restroom was small, as mentioned in other reviews. You took a shower over the toilet bowl. Functional. At least there was somewhere inside the toilet where you could put your dry clothes while taking a shower. Location was good, walking distance to Bugis Mall, Suntec City, Bugis and City Hall MRT stations, Raffles Hotel, etc. We stayed here for the F1 event at the Marina Bay area, and it was convenient since you could easily walk to where you wanted to go. There is a 7-Eleven downstairs, foodcourts nearby. Overall would recommend this hotel, as long as you know that you're getting a small room.

Greatest Location”

one of the cheapest options in singapore, but the rooms are brand new and clean, good bathroom. it was really tight though for us and our little 1,5 years old, but i guess singapore doesn't really have a choice of room with a good space. 5 min walk to mrt bugis, lots of foods around bugis junction, and a chinese restaurant next door with great food. location is superb!

Good hotel with good location, staff performance”

I stayed at this hotel three days (in November 2014) with comfortable. First: This hotel is at the Bugis therefore I can go to Bugis MRT, Bugis Junction, Tan Que Lan st, Victoria st quickly... Secondly: This hotel is very cleanly. There are air condition, tivi, DVD Player Third: Staff are very welcome when I came this hotel. They supported us well Fourth: They provided two mineral water bottles, coffee, tissues free I will returned when I come back Singapore next time

Fragrance hotel is a budget hotel. the room was small but comfortable. the location of the hotel is centrally located in the heart of Singapore. Easy access to Bugis, shopping area. The staff was friendly and accomodating. and the hotel has free wifi!

lovely hotel with great service and nice room”

fragrance hotel bugis is located nearby national library, bras basah complex ,bugis junction, and bugis street where u can find many restaurants and shopping centre. it's pretty close with bugis mrt station with approximately 3 minutes walk. it's a nice area with many good restaurants nearby the hotel, we just have to take a walk beside bras basah complex then we can find many food there. The service is excellent and they're very welcome to the customers. The room is very clean and nice and the room size it's fine ,not to small so that it's very comfortable. i would say i was enjoying my stay there.

Fragrance Hotel - Riverside Review”

We reserved originally reserved a room at Fragrance Hotel-Bugis but was upgraded to Fragrance Hotel Riverside upon our arrival because the type of room we reserved for was not available. The upgrade was quite a blessing because Riverside was nearer to Clarke Quay, Chinatown, and Clarke Quay Central. It was also near the Merlion. Going to Sentosa cost us only S$9.90 inclusive of the booking fee for the taxi. Going back to the hotel from Sentosa via MRT only cost us S$1.40 per pax. Breakfast served was also delicious and proximity to Chinatown allowed us to enjoy good hawker food at the Food Street and Chinatown Complex. All hotel staff including those from Fragrance Hotel -Bugis provided excellent service. Hotel was clean and lived up to its name "Fragrance Hotel".

good for a quick stay in singapore”

i arrived at 3 am and it was quick 15 mins drive from airport to hotel. the hotel is located in bugis area, so it was pretty easy to find some good restaurants and shops nearby. Despite the good location, the room was average. i ordered a room with window, but i could not get it, so i ended up staying in a small room with air purifier. That was fine since i only spent less than 24 hrs in singapore. internet was fast and room service was also okay. i checked out at 2 am in the morning on the next day and it was easy to get the taxi to the airport.

Good hotel for what you pay for, great location”

Reasonably near everything - Orchard Road, Promenade/Esplanade area, Clark Quay among others. And Bugis itself is pretty nice. The room is understandably small since it's a budget hotel, but it's very clean. The receptionists were all generally nice, but one guy really stood out - Sean Wong. He was exceptionally helpful and was always smiling. It's pretty hard to complain about our stay given what we paid for and what we needed (a place to sleep and take a shower). We stayed no more than 8 hours per day here. If that's all you need, this is a great place to stay. Can't say anything about the food though.

Good place, close to Bugis”

Hotel is around 10 minute away from Bugis street with quite a selection of Chinese restaurant and eatery located around Bugis. 7/11 is located few shops away, good for late night snacking. Room is exactly like the picture, bed sheet & towels are clean and no funny smell at all. Definitely come back again when I visit Singapore.

Very Clean and Affordable”

The Front Desk Officer, who was a fellow Filipino was kind enough to let us check in at 130PM earlier than the check in time of 3PM. The room, specially the bathroom was clean. Daily complimentary water. Affordable and safe to leave items behind during room cleaning. A few blocks away from the Bugis MRT station, and from Suntec mall. The aircondition was so cold, perfect to relax after a day outside humid Singapore. Fast check-in and check-out. Wifi connection is fast. The only downside is that the bath towels kinda smell a bit as if not cleaned properly, it would be better to bring/use your own. Nonetheless, we highly recommend this hotel.
