Berjaya Langkawi ResortTeluk Burau,Teluk Burau - View on map
"Most of the tourists who go to Langkawi stay at Pantai Cenang, but Berjaya is located in Teluk Burau, which is further north of the island and somewhere in the hills. You'll need a car to get there, or you can get there by taxi. The location, which is away from everything on the island, is superb if you want a quiet time by the beach. The staff there speak good English, and were very welcoming. Our room was a Rainforest Chalet, but we got a view of the sea anyway. They have a nice balcony where you can just sit and drink, and enjoy the rainforest around you. We also made a trip to Tanjong Rhu, which supposedly has the 'nicest' beach, but I definitely have to disagree. Berjaya's beach is awesome, the only difference is that Tanjong Rhu has a calmer beach (surrounded by island rocks). For the price, I think it's definitely one of the best hotels on the island!"

ZEN Rooms Basic Pantai KokTeluk Burau,Teluk Burau - View on map
"I spent a week here, which seems to be an unusual ammount, seems most people stay a day or two. If you are just there for the cable car a night or two is fine. I spent a few days in the seven wells area including the mountain hike. The hotel was nice enough with daily service, water replaced daily (Would be nice to have a water filter/cooler for refills to save on plastic). Wifi was intermittant on my end (seemed fast for streaming, but wouldnt load standard webpages), but using the wifi on the other side of the building was fine. "
Geopark Hotel Oriental VillageTeluk Burau,Teluk Burau - View on map
"we were a group of 2 adults and 2 senior citizens. the location is away from the main tourist beach so you will definitely need to hire a car if you plan on staying here. the plus side of this hotel is that the location is very peaceful with a lot of greenery around the area. there are many shops in the hotel's immediate vicinity shopping area called the "oriental village", including souvenir shops, restaurants, a food court, spa etc. at night time, after the shops and the cable car close, the area is very silent and pretty much deserted, so there is no hustle and bustle at night. however since the restaurants also close down around sunset so you will have to go for dinner elsewhere. there are a few indian / arab food outlets at a very short driving distance from the hotel which are reasonably good. this is a very nice location for families and honeymooning couples, however, if you are interested in nightlife, this place is not ideal for you. we booked our rooms without breakfast since the breakfast at the hotel is very basic. we used to go for breakfast to the nearby mutiara burau bay hotel and pay for the breakfast as outside guests. the breakfast at burau bay is priced around rm40 per head and is a pleasant experience with a decent variety of dishes including freshly baked bakery items. rooms at geopark hotel are neither small nor too spacious and are clean and comfortable with all basic facilities including a fridge and tea-making facilities. free wi-fi is available in the hotel lobby and there is ample parking space for vehicles of all guests."
