First time at the Golden Beach”

Have stayed at the Cha Am Long Beach nearby(good) and the Methalavay - next Door(Excellent) and we felt the Golden Beach is in the middle - rating it as very good. The beautiful Cha Am Beach is 200 metres away but it is good to hire a motor bike and get round the Cha Am area(you can park the buke underground no bothers)There are several great restaurants and bars on your doorstep. Rooms are very nice & spacious and it s a very relaxing hotel. The Breakfast area is in reception wit a wide choice of Thai/Farang foods - cereals/yoghurts etc. There is a walkway to reach the Beach - containg several nice bars, massage parlours and salons for the ladies. Cha Am is such a chilled out and beautiful place and we recommend you try the place out before it turns out like Pattaya which it probably will in the next 5/10 years. The nightlife is very good - try the Ozone Bar next door - live music and the excellent Baan Thai just at the end of the Hotel walkway.

Great hotel for the price.....”

This hotel is a bargain....a minute walk to the beach....I recommend you eat at the restaurants where the fishing harbor is located...fresh...good....and good prices...you can rent a bicycle to go there....look for all the colorful fishing boats...and you will be at the right place...you can watch them unload their catch...The hotel is nice...older...but maintained....was on the 20th floor...walked to the beach....there is a restaurant to the left as you walk to the beach from the back of the hotel...good food...clean...good price...Cha-Am is for Thai tourists..not a lot of farungs or bar scene...Hua Hin can take van from town for 60 baht...the problem is they want 200 baht to go less than 2 km to town...very quite area...relaxing..stayed 10 days....you can get there via van...very reasonable and fast from Victory Monument is bkk....this is not like Hua Hin...not crowded....easy going..if you want peace and quite ....and a nice beach...great...hotel is very reasonable and pleasant...you will not go wrong with this place.

Friendly Hotel”

Friendly and helpful reception staff. Restaurant staff and food are great. Nice breakfast buffet. Good chef. Nice pool. Jane very helpful and polite. Will stay at this hotel again. Good value for the price. Cha Am has less tailors, touts, bars and double pricing than Hua Hin and has prices on things in shops and markets, so you do not have the hassle of bartering. Great seafood in Cha Am. Nice hotel.

Value for money”

We had an enjoyable stay at Golden Beach Cha-Am Hotel. We were provided with a huge choice of foods for breakfast including fruit and cereal, eggs, sausages etc as well as traditional Thai foods. The hotel has a good sized swimming pool and guests are provided with a towel for use at the pool. We were disappointed that our room was not provided with a jug so we weren't able to make a cup of tea or coffee in our room. We weren't provided with handtowels either which we found difficult.

A great hotel set right on the beach in Cha-Am. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a great sea view. The breakfast selection was extensive. The beach is across the street, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance The swimming pool area is large and with plenty of sun loungers We would definately stay here again should we return to Cha-Am

A Night Stay with Golden Beach Cha-am Hotel”

Our family was overall satisfied with our stay at Golden Beach Cha-am. We booked a family suit (with 2 bedrooms) and we can say that it was spacious. The hotel itself I believed was renovated as the last time I've been there was 2009, a lot of changes but the rate I can say is reasonable. Hotel staffs are friendly, since we didn't dine in and we only ordered food on room service. The serving of the food we ordered was generous and the taste is good. About their breakfast, they provide a buffet line that has variants (from salad, to cereals, porridge, juice, bread, omelette and main courses which i noticed mostly thai or thai chinese food were prepared. The accommodation itself, they provide toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body gel, soap, and a good towel), has complimentary water, good wifi and a balcony with nice sunset/sunshine view. We didn't use the facilities as we enjoyed resting in our family suit accommodation, but if there's another chance, we will definitely try their swimming pool, seems and looks relaxing. And after that just walk outside to have a nice massage. The beach is just few mins walk, you can do a lot of activities such as horse back riding, banana boat, etc. There are hawkers that sells good food but in a reasonable amount. This place (Cha-am) and this hotel highly recommendable to those family or anyone who wants relaxation without much people. This is the first time I have seen Cha-am quiet like this but I love the feeling as my family had a good rest. But if there are holidays like Songkran, the environment becomes filled with fun. I've been to this hotel several times and this is always on top of my list. Surely will come back. Hotel staffs are friendly and service oriented, they are proactive in helping the guests in carrying their bags/luggage. :)

80 year old American. I like this place. Great price and no crowds low season. Short walk to a clean beach. Cha AM is for from Hua Hin but I prefer Cha Am. I will stay here again.

Golden Beach hotel Cha Am”

The hotel's staff were friendly and always provided excellent service. The pool was more than adequate for relaxing at and swimming. A generous and very varied breakfast was available in pleasant surroundings. The only real problem was that we chose the hotel on Agoda's website specififying Hua Hin as our chosen destination. Why Agoda chose to identify a hotel which turned out to be in Cha Am is a mystery but but one that led to considerable problems for my wife and myself. The hotel is more than 20 kilometers from Hua Hin!

Great hotel, across the road from the beach. The breakfast selection was great. The rooms were large, and clean. The staff were really helpful. Large (and clean!) swimming pool, with plenty of sun loungers. The rooms were cleaned daily, to a high standard. Plenty of shops, restaurants and bars near by. Would definately recommend, and would go there again if we go back to Cha-Am

Good value for the money”

I stayed at Golden Beach Cha Am during the week, Tues-Thurs and had a pleasant stay. It was very quiet in Cha Am, which is usual during the week. Hence, the pool area was quiet and most rooms were empty, only because the time of week. Not a lot of nightlife to be had but that is Cha Am. There is a nice open air bar that played some cool live music. Just walk out the front, down the walkway past the massage parlors and little bars, and turn right at the street. The bar is is the right only about a minute's walk once you hit the main street. Very lovely waitresses too. Definite bonus!

One of Cha-Am's best hotels”

this was our second stay at the golden beach. a great location in the middle of cha-am's beach.the hotel is clean and staff friendly and helpful. rooms are very clean and well appointed with good facilities - bath & shower/tv,mini bar,plenty of space - nice balcony. the hotel facilities are very good and the breakfast is one-if not the best in the whole of thailand(good selection of european healthy foods or cooked breakfast). outside the hotel is a range of beer bars where you can sit back and watch the sport on tv whilst enjoying a cool drink - or if the fancy takes you a number of massge parlours(clean ones!!). the beach is about 300 metres away and this is a really great place to stay

Golden Beach Hotel”

The Golden Beach Hotel is in the center of Cha-Am Beach. So you can get everythings from the shops around this hotel. The room is clean and all are a sea view room. In my most impression, the staff are very nice and have an impressive service mind. The bakery at the Coffee shop (at the Lobby)are delicious and the staff are very nice also.

Nice hotel, but service could be better. ”

Very cleen hotel, and good food. The service at the reseption and in the restaurant has to improve, they must learn to smile! The hotel is perfectly located, near to everything. We are very satisfied about Cha Am, an we will serntanly go threr again some time in the near future, and, after all, we will book at The Golde Beach Cha-Am Hotel again. We reconmand the hotel to visitore from Scandinavia.

French Connection”

Said in the first review we'd stay here again and 'Bam!' we are here again :) Met a long-term resident of the hotel and he said (after many years of staying there) that they are constantly improving the hotel and that the pool has been recently renovated. The manager (or owner - not sure) seems like she has been to France and fell in love with the country as it has had an influence on the hotel. Lots of friendly German guests staying in the hotel who I tried to talk to, even though I know just 3 words of German. Suggestions: make the pool table free, continue renovating, keep on making that delicious gai pad cha for breakfasts at least one day a week and also offer Thai style fried eggs alongside the western style flat eggs. Also give the chef a high five :) Apart from that, this hotel is awesome!

Decor dated”

We booked into this hotel for a week, as we had read that Cha-am was good for kite surfing, but discovered that due to lots of broken shells all over the beach it isn't ideal for kite surfing, therefore only stayed for 4 nights. During our stay we found the reception and door staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, although with a minor design flaw in the bathroom. There is a hole in the tiled shower tray which leaks water onto the bathroom floor. We managed to fix this with some duct tape though. We had room service on the first night. It wasn't anything special, would suggest leaving the hotel for food. If you are looking for a quieter resort then Cha-am is nice, with a long beach and market stalls. However if you want somewhere with a night life and good shopping I would suggest staying in Hua Hin.

A nice stay”

We enjoyed our stay at the Golden Beach. Everything worked reasonably well (except the water wouldn't go down the shower fast enough to allow for a decent length shower!) Rooms were spacious with a good view and were neat and clean. Service was pretty good and all workers were friendly. Location is nice. We like Cha am.
