Great location and huge rooms. Reception lady was extremely helpful and guided us throughout our stay. Even rented out her own scooter as e bikes are not available in mrauk u. Satisfying breakfast with traditional Burmese food . Food options are not that great mrauk u so do your research. Golden mrauk u doesn't provide lunch or dinner. Overall great value for money

Helpful staff and overall a good stay”
The staff here were always ready to answer questions and find out information. William spoke excellent English and was always quick to answer questions, but it was also always worth consulting the rather more reserved, quiet and more slowly spoken female receptionist - she was good about fact checking up to date details and clearly knowledgeable about local culture. It was also easy to arrange reasonably priced local transport (Tuk Tuk) with William. They made an effort to give you different local snacks everyday at breakfast, which was a nice touch. They will also prepare a breakfast box if leaving early (although you may want to mention that you prefer NOT to have jam in your egg sandwich!!) The rooms at the front can be noisy as people tend to arrive/leave early in Mrauk-U - so request to move if they have another room - especially if you're in the room that also overlooks the neighboring school. If you're arriving late at night and have not booked your room a couple of days in advance, you may want to check the booking has arrived. We booked ours only about 12 hours in advance and unfortunately they were full on arrival as Internet is not always reliable and so they had not got our booking yet. They sorted out a room in another hotel, even though the closest hotels were full, but it's not what you need after a long bus ride! We planned to stay 4 nights and ended up staying 7. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay again.

Superfriendly service”
I had been 2 days in Golden Mrauk U Pension with a friend. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was wonderful, but the best thing was the people who works in the pension, they are very friendly people anda they helped us in everymoment.

terrific place for moderate budget traveler”
If this is your price point stay here. People are wonderful. We don't regret this choice for an instant. Large rooms with balcony. Not much of a view, but good for smokers. Can be a little loud on one side with chanting from the Buddhist school at night, and on the other from village activities in the morning. 5 minute walk to market. 15 to main cluster of pagodas. Best to bike or hire "tuk-tuk" to get to outliers. Mrauk-U: loved it. 3 full days on the ground (4 nights), we could have stayed 3 more. Hire car/van for 3 hour ride from Sittwe airport 50,000 kyat (3-3.5 hours). The ride is mostly awesome, but occasionally white knuckle. Fantastic destination, but for the plastic trash. Enjoyed it more than Bagan.

Nice place to stay in Mrauk U”
The place is new, the rooms are really clean and spacious. The breakfast included is good. The location nice although Mrauk U is a not so big village. The staff can’t speak nice English except for the young guy at the reception, who was really nice to us and helpful with an excellent english. The hotel has wifi but don’t count on it.

Overall the place was ok and clean but a few things annoyed us : rooms are quite noisy until late at night and from early in the morning, mosquitoes can enter freely as windows do not close properly, WiFi network is close to nonexistent, laundry service is quite expensive (a single sock costs as much to wash as a pair of pant, or sweaters...), bus tickets should NOT be booked here : when buying the tickets (which by the way cost 5000k more per person here than at the bus station) the manager told us a tuk tuk would come and get us at the guesthouse until we found out 15mn before the bus left that we had to go on our own. In the end, should we come back to Mrauk U we would try a different guesthouse.

Good location, quiet, 10 minutes walk to the historical places Funny guest house, looks like Disneyland. Good bed, hot water, wifi, AC, room service. Gorgeous breakfast. But before all the quality and the smiles of the staff.

The best!”
Gothic decor from the dragon arch at the entrance to the high curved wood paneled ceilings. And dark green walls. Staff were spectacular including bringing me pills and powders when I casually mentioned not feeling well. And needed them. Rooms are large, beds soft enough. A/C and hot water worked well. Location is great. Breakfast is almost too much to finish. Loved this hotel. (PS: do your laundry elsewhere)

Worth a stay ”
All staff, from front desk, breakfast staff and cleaners were extremely helpful and friendly, great size room, Myanmar breakfast was simply superb and different each morning. Michael was extremely helpful and great to chat to over breakfast and willing to go out of his way to do a guided tour of the Chin Villages when my tour guide cancelled 10 minutes before he was to pick me up. Well worth a stay.

VERY NICE AND ORIGINAL HOTEL”
Good and spacious rooms with good AC and good and warm shower! Very good breakfast - mix of local and occidental food! The staff is super nice and speak good English. I was a bit sick and they were really helpful and caring. They can arrange your trip back, guides in the area or rent you bikes for the day.

Clean place, enormous rooms. Michael a good guide (for chin). Superfriendly staff. We"ll defenitely go back there again. P.s. Also the local traditional healer they got for us ( who helped with a twisted ankle) was a good one. Breakfast is great i.e. traditional +continental

Good Hotel”
Pro's Very large lovely room Good A/C and hot water Comfortable bed. Fairly quiet. Very friendly staff especially breakfast and cleaning personal. Front desk speaks good English. CON'S Bikes are 3000 per day. Breakfast is very basic but nice with Burmese sweets which were very delicious.

nice spot, close to restaurants as well pagodas. note: there is a school directly next door and the chanting starts promptly at 8 am. Also try booking a room away from the reception area as groups tend to arrive very early in the morning. staff are helpful. would stay again

Wifi does not exist - floating the bathroom while showering”
Wifi actually does not exist. You have small spot outside the building but that is slow. In all other parts there is no connection. When you are showering you are floosing the whole bathroom. Please built a proper shower. The doors to the balcony has many holes. Mosquitoes can easily come in.
