Best place to stay in Nara”
This was our first stop in Japan and thought that if all the hostels where we were going to be staying would be like this one, we were in Paradise! Unfortunately, they weren't and I must say that this was the best guest house where we stayed in during our trip in Japan. The staff was really nice, friendly and helpful with all our questions. We were a group of four (2 couples) and stayed in a family room, with two bulk beds. The beds were very very comfortable and the room was spotless and really spacious. We had a table with four chairs and a bathroom fully equipped. I must say that the bathroom was super clean! The guest house has a kitchen with coffee and tea available for free. You can also use the kitchen to cook or store food in the fridge if you need to. The room and the guest house in general was very quiet so I am sure you will get a good night sleep (as we all did). The location is unbeatable. The hostel is about 6 minutes walking to the train station and about the same distance (10 mins) to the Nara Park (the main attraction in Nara and a place you cannot miss). The directions given by the host to get from the train station to the guest house were really accurate so I advise you to print the map he will send you by email. The tourist centre is 2 minutes walking from the guest house where you can get tour guides for free for few hours. You can also get the tour guide for free from the guest house Iki, ask for it at the reception and they will arrange the guide for you. There are lots of restaurants around the guest house (about 4 minutes walking). I cannot sell this place enough but if I am going back to Nara one day I will not consider anything else but this guest house to stay.

Affordable yet comfortable stay in Nara”
The guest house is located approx. 10 minutes walk to either JR or Kintetsu station. I had no trouble locating the place using Googlemaps and the detailed instructions given by the host prior to arrival is really helpful. The host is friendly, energetic, helpful and speaks good English. He helped us with carrying our luggage to the room and explains in details about the whole facility during our arrival. The room is adequately sized for two, and it is clean and well maintained. There is also a shared kitchen in case you need to make coffee or tea (provided free of charge) or cook simple dishes during your stay. The town itself is small and everything can be reached by bicycle or foot. There are also buses departing from train stations if you need it. The host helped us a lot in planning our sightseeing route. Bicycle is also provided (for a small fee) if you like to cycle. There is no meal service in the guest house, but it is located within walking distance to plenty of restaurants and cafe, and as such hunting for food is not a big deal. I would highly recommend this place if you ever go to Nara and needed a place to stay.

Comfy bed, great staff”
Though a bit tricky to find the location (I had no problem locating it from JR Nara station using Google map, and if you want to know one of the alley but this is a cool guest house! Jun is a very friendly staff - when we ask where to get good food in Nara, he gave us a map and pointed to us on where and what to get. He is responsive and attentive. The guest house also have very comfy bed. We would definitely book this guesthouse again.

Neat, clean and comfy”
The hotel is very new and neat. The host speaks English and is friendly. With four of us, we were housed in one room, with our very own attached bath and toilet. Our stay was indeed a pleasant one and would definitely come back to Iki the next time we visit nara.

Charming, immaculate and friendly.”
We really enjoyed our stay at Guest House Iki. It was very conveniently located and the staff were very helpful with looking after our bags when we arrived early. I LOVED the traditional room with tatami mats. It smelt so nice. We set up the futon at night ourselves which was very easy, and it was comfortable and warm. For breakfast there are a lot of nearby convenienience stores to get bento boxes and we ate in our room. It was a very relaxing stay and a great place to enjoy the temples from.

Best CP value. Very nice owner.”
We stayed 3 nights. We informed the owner that we would arrive nara by 7. and unexpectedly he was already waiting in the cold windy street to pick us! He was an very passionate owner. The room is clean with bathroom and toilet. Basic amenities like shampoo, shower lotion ,paper towel are provided. The AC can be switched to heater mode to warm the room during cold weather. Kitchen with microwave, fridge, stove are provided in a shared basis. Although rules has already set that guest should be keep quiet during night time but some Chinese girls were still noisy and rude. Near by facilities like convenience shops, supermarket, onsen are not far away. Best CP value and best owner I ever meet.

Lovely small town”
The owner of the guest house speaks good english surprisingly, he also helped us to carry luggage and provided very detailed transport, restaurant and tourist information about the city. The guest house is located very close to the Nara national park, you can actually walk to the deer park in 10 minutes. The room looks new and clean, very simple design yet stylish and modern. The traditional tatame bed is actaully quite comfy too, highly recommend this guest house if you wanna try the bed.

Cheap and clean”
It's in Nara, a small town hence the hotels are cheaper. Highly suggest to just stay in Nara and buy train ticket to travel to Osaka and Kyoto. The room is big compare to the one I stay in Osaka and Kyoto. Very friendly staff. Only downside is that is slightly far from train station(10minutes walk). It's long considering you walk the whole day around Nara already

Very cozy and nice”
very nice place nestled in a quiet alley but still near to main road, hence it's convenient with quietness. exterior design of guest house is simple but sleek and unique. room is very clean and new, size is not very big but good enough for 2 person. futon bed is very comfortable and air-conditioner works very well.guest house is situated very near to main tourist spots(within walking distance)so very convenient, you can also rent a bicycle from owner to ride around.owner is very nice and can speak good english. each room has individual toilet and shower, and a common living room with fully equipped kitchen and complimetary tea and coffee. convenience store and visitor center nearby too. price is very reasonable for the quality and service provided in my opinion. had a very happy stay there.

Perfect location, friendly owner, comfortable.”
Perfectly located halfway between the station and the main sightseeing area of Nara, both are less than 10 minutes walk away. The owner is a really friendly guy who speaks decent English, and this place really feels homey (in a japanese way - minimal decoration but good layout). The room has good quality tatami and futon, and a small round (folding) table and kneeling cushions. Rooms is large enough to comfortably put up two people and their luggage, the heating works well, the bathroom has shower only but for me that was fine. The place is very quiet, the owner makes sure that even his own family that was visiting leave before 11pm when he closes the lobby to make sure everyone can sleep. Free wifi, free tea and use of the kitchen with full size hub etc. so you could cook if you wanted to.

Great accomodation with all you need for Nara”
This was my 2nd stay at the Iki guest house and I think that says it all. We've rented bikes and forgot to pay, when I contacted the owner in the retrospect, he didn't want the rental fee and thanked us for coming back again. Wow! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Staff was friendly and hotel was centrally located”
Our stay was fantastic. We came for a day trip to Nara and were able to get from the JR station to the hotel in about 5 minutes. The hotel was only 5 minute walk to all the major sites and we were able to explore the city without having to get cabs. The staff was friendly and gave us recommendations on where to go and even warned us when it might rain and offered umbrellas to use.
