Nice quiet area near the fish market and wharf”

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable to recommend activities to do. Full kitchen facilities free for all to use. Whale watching is cheaper for The Place's guests. Got an upgrade from twin room to deluxe twin room with a wharf view. Good backpacking culture - nice area for everyone to interact. Family mart convenience store, veg and fish market is nearby. Bicycles available for rent cheap at 100 yen per hour. I will come back again next year.

The staff was very friendly and was there the whole night and morning to help out. The location was super convenient if you wanted to see anything in Naha and also right next to the port if you wanted to visit any of the neighboring islands. They had a binder of favorite places, restaurants and recommendations given by all the staff. For the price it can't be beaten! Highly suggest, especially for solo travelers.

The hostel is in a great location, really close to Tomari Port and easy to get to and from the airport. The staff were really friendly and had a food recommendations folder at the front desk! The dorm was tidy and had its on bathroom. Common space was really nice and spacious.

99% recommend it. Everything is great, but hard to sleep.”

Staff spoke amazingly good English, and were really nice about it too. At other hostels the staff will be kind of upset if I am bad at Japanese, whether they speak English or not. They gave great advice about things to do. They helped me find an all-you-can-eat wagyu beef shabu shabu. This should have been the first place I stayed at in Okinawa. It is the perfect base camp, thanks to the staff. Wifi is good. Locker was big enough for my 40 liter backpack. Toilets and showers are great. Laundry machines available. Full kitchen. I could almost live here... but the beds were squeaky and kind of hard. I couldn't sleep, even with earplugs.

Great value”

Great value -- stayed both in the private rooms and in the female dorm, and both were great options. There is AC and it's clean. In the dorms, there are privacy curtains so you won't be disturbed by the light. Staff was very nice and helpful - in particular Asuki who helped me book a day of diving at a very late notice. I'll definitely stay here again when I come back to Naha.

This place is really nice and clean. However, if you want to explore Naha it's a bit off. If you're going with any of the ferries from the harbor it's great though.

Close to the airport”

Good hostel. Has all the facilities needed. Nice dorm rooms. Little advice get a Sim card from the airport vending machines. Japan is very expensive and the data on offer compared to other countries is low.

Ignorant foreign staff. Felt a bit unsanitary”

1. STAFF First I want to say that the japanese staff is really cool & super nice. However! There are a LOT (I mean like 6 or 8 or even more) of foreign staff (I am assuming on work&travel visa) and they certainl do not give a *beep* about guests or the hostel. They obviously have nothing else in mind than having a holiday rather than work. Awful! I don't know who though a whole soccer team of ignorant foreigners who are under the impression they are on the same level than guests. Note to owner: BRIEF THEM how to behave in a service sector! One french girl was keeping coughing and none of the staff wore mask. Bit minging. 2. common area Kinda dark, but everything you need! Very hostel style :) No complains. 3. Room Tiny and freaking dirty mate. I can't imagine 6 people in there! On the plus side: Big window with view on the harbor!!
