There are nothing around this hotel except Togendai Fery port, but if you want to explore Hakone by riding fery & hakone ropeway (owakudani) this place is perfect! Because everything is in Togendai!

Convenient location, no view to the lake”
The hotel's location is quite convenient noting that it's a property of Odakyu, the same company that offers highway bus from Tokyo to Hakone and operates cruise and cable car around Hakone area. So the cruise and cable station is just opposite the hotel, as well as the Odakyu bus station to and from Tokyo. There is indeed no restaurants around so there is no further option other than dining at the hotel. Reservation must be made around breakfast time of the same day, so if you happen to arrive in the afternoon to match the 3pm check-in time, you should be comfortable with chicken and tempura offered in the buffet dinner for about 20 USD. Japan is expensive, no doubt about it, but 20 USD for chicken? The room is dark and also small for Hakone standards. Come on, finally out of Tokyo area, still the room is tiny.

Pros: We stayed at the Hakone Lake Hotel for 1night only. Its such a great experience bath at onsen. Its easy to reach this hotel since the bus stops right in front of the hotel. If you want to enjoy rope or cruise in the lake ashi, you just need to cross the street. The view from the hotel terrace was incredible beautiful. Con: The first room that given to us ,there was a strong urine smell from the toilet. When we complain then they let us to move to the other room. Unfortunately the check out time is too early (10am) and very strict. Suggestion: Please improve the cleanliness especially the toilet In general our stay in hakone lake hotel was great especially the kaiseki dinner was worth of money and the breakfast was also delicious

Bus stops right in front of the hotel(Hakone Lake Hotel Bus Stop). short walking distance to the pirate Ship & ropeway. their in-house onsen is awesome with indoor and outdoor. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Dinner was great. Really love this place! Would like to stay here again.

It sounds silly but we researched what we wanted to do while in Hakone and this location worked for us. You are at the starting point of the lake cruises and ropeway so it was easy to get around before all the other tourists (and there were thousands) even started their day. The hotel is perhaps a shade tired, but the baths were great. The breakfasts and dinners were good and you really do have to eat there as there is not much else around. One unusual thing is they don’t have any sort of bar to enjoy a drink after your busy day. You can of course order something at dinner, but other than that it’s a byo in your room.

This hotel was better than we could have expected! We were there for a couple of days to get away from hot and hectic Tokyo, and to enjoy the onsen in Hakone. This hotel is also walking distance (4-5 minutes) from the bus stop/cable car stop, and the port where you can take a boat tour of the lake. We wish we had had more time there to relax.

the location of the hotel is very convenient, from tokyo we just took a bus and we arrived right in front of the hotel. the hotel is also 5 minutes away walking distance from Togendai station (bus terminal, hakone ropeway and sightseeing cruise). Ask the hotel reception for discount voucher for the ropeway cable car ticket. The indoor and outdoor onsen was superb. The dinner and breakfast was super delicious! I recommend that you eat at this hotel instead of outside. The food value for money is much more than what it's offered in outside restaurants. The staffs was very friendly, courteous, very helpful, super polite and speaks english quite well. I'd definitely stay at this hotel again :)
