Lovely time”
It was a lovely day here, even thought it was just for one night. Staff was helpful, he told me places to visit and places to go, where to eat. When I check in he told me there is an event at Nara Park at night, which I did not know of. It was lovely to stay in a century old building.

Grand historic construction”
This traditional Japanese building(condo) is wonderful choice for us leaving Nara city. It has marvelous design in many conditions. Such as individual loo, oldest yard, indigenous well, leisure district. Appreciate every staff.

Former Rice Granary!”
1. HISTORIC: building's a rice merchant's home. The dorm is in the rice granary. 2. LOCATION: on the outer edge of historic Nara. 3. CAPSULES are custom built. Solid. 4. WiFi is a little weak.. 5. Hot water & good water PRESSURE. 6. STAFF is tops. Mr. Jun is a certified guide of Nara.

Beautiful traditional architecture, inside and out. Attentive and friendly service. Comfortable.”
Only con: 15m walk up some hills to Nara Park and to the train station, which isn't easy with big bags. Renting a bike for a day helped.

Avoid the dormitory”
People here are really nice and welcoming, but because of few negative points we will not come back again. The dormitory is really tiny, the bed are really narrow, and you can quickly feel confined. As the beds are made in new wood, you can hear all the movements of your neighbors. The mattress is hard as stone, even for Japan. There isn't a real place to put your luggages, you have to put them in front of your bed, and the room can quickly become a mess. The toilet are just in front of the beds, which can be noisy at night. The building is 200 years old, which is lovely, but the dormitory is in a new building in front of the house, so you can't really enjoy it. The common area is not really welcoming, and the "kitchen" not really convenient. The laundry is really expensive. It was one of the less comfortable dormitory we had in 6 months of travel in Asia, and it is really expensive for what you get (not even a breakfast).

A very good experience to stay in Japan traditional house”
I have a great time staying at HARUYA Naramachi. I book for a dorm but been given a FREE upgrade to single room by the time I check in. This is so cool and I am very happy with that. The price is cheap. Location is a bit far from subway station but it is near to Nara Park. Room is clean and staff is super nice. Facilities also excellent with free wifi. Have to keep in mind that this is a very old traditional wooden house, you will heard other tourists walking in the house but I still have a great time staying for 2 nights in Nara. =)

Stay at HARUYA Hostels Naramachi”
We stayed at HARUYA Hostels Naramachi for 1 night. The rooms are really nice and comfortable. The hostel does ask you to be quiet after 10pm, but there is nobody there to enforce it if there is an issue. For us, a man stayed up in the common room right by our room (206) and spoke loudly until 5am even if we asked him repeatedly to be quiet. When we woke up the next morning he was sleeping on the floor of the common room, which was a bit strange. We would still stay there and hope that this was just a one off.

Exceptional”
this was the only traditional guest house we stayed at on our trip but next time we will do more! the room was simple yet comfortable and tasteful, but it was the welcome was the main thing: a glass of tea the moment you arrive, advice on the best route to follow to see the sights and recommendation of a neighborhood restaurant that was not only the best we ate at on our trip, it was also the cheapest. the kind of tips no travel guide can provide. add a location that makes you wish you could stay in Naramachi forever and it all adds up to a special experience.
