We travelled in group through ferry and thus we looked for hotels nearby Kuah Jetty. HIG Hotel is located in about 5 mins driving distance, which is very good for us. No nice view but it doesn't matter for us as we weren't fancy for beach or sea view but one of the reason we went to Langkawi for this round was to go SHOPPING! And, HIG Hotel just met our requirement: HIG shopping complex is just besides the hotel! We bought some cheap chocolates and luggages in HIG shopping complex during our 2D1N stay. We did compared the prices of chocolates and luggages with other shops by Haji Ismail Group in Kuah town and found out the prices of goods in HIG shopping complex next to the hotel were just the same. Apparently HIG is honest to their clients. Room was spacious, everything looks new and clean, and the bed was comfortable. No comment on their food & beverage as we never try (we were outside hotel most of the time). With the price we paid, we feel that it's value for money. The only downside was that the air cond sound was a bit too loud. Anyway, we still had a good night sleep due to the comfort level of the bed and pillow.

When we arrived at the hotel, we are welcomed by friendly and helpful bell boy..the check in process is smooth..our room is very clean..there have sajadah, quran, iron and iron board ready in the room. The location is very strategic in the middle of Kuah City, Langkawi..Connected with the hotel is HIG Complex where one can buy cheap and quality chocolate...the taxis are very easy to find as there many taxis is parking in front of the hotel..if you don't like to eat at the hotel, there is small foodcourt in front of the hotel where you can get cheap and delicious local food...

Being a new hotel I enjoyed the comfort of new bed new towels and very clean room and bathroom. Sadly i stayed there for one night only. My husband enjoyed the rain shower. The room amenitieswas so so. It also has a mini bar. Iron and hair dryer upon request. As the hotel has its shopping complex so shopping was easy. Food stall is just outside the hotel serving local dishes. In front of the hotel are 2 rows of bazaar selling souvenirs, t shirt, slippers, batik sarongs, branded imitation handbags n kids tshirts but find it very expensive.I didnt tried the food at the hotel. The hotel is near to the jetty and Kuah town. Its only 20 minutes to the airport. Taxies are also easy.Overall I Like HiG hotel and looking forward to stay there again.

Excellent Hotel for Shopping and Exploring Kuah Town”

the hotel is located next to the HIG Shopping center (free duty) so really easy to shop from early as 09.30am plus after shopping, you just carry the stuff back to the hotel or your car so no need to carry it around. Plus very near to other popular free duty shopping centre like RAMS , Idaman Suri and etc. ( 5 minutes drive on average). Hotel is also near to a food court so if lazy to explore other options , you can get a bite to eat at the hotel compound. Nearby to all attraction in kuah town so one more plus. Overall, a very good place to stay to shop and explore kuah town plus the room is clean, breakfast is average but nice, staff friendly. For me, recommend to stay.

its a pleasant stay... connected to their very own HIG store really make it easier for those who comes to langkawi for shopping purposes. the room is big enough and comfy but it should comes with breakfast package though....rm25 per person for a very limited menu for breakfast is really too much. better yet just go to the town for a worthy breakfast with a much cheaper price as kuah town is just merely 5 minutes away...

The best hotel to stay”

Good place to stay in Langkawi. the hotel is located beside HIG Complex. U can even just walk in and shopping! The room is spacious. I travel with my family so very convenient to request connecting room. The best part is (for Muslim guest) every room provided telekung (praying cloth for woman), a prayer mat and even the Quran. This hotel also very easy to find (waze/google). The menu for breakfast also delicious (Malaysian cuisine). For my experience, this hotel is the best and definitely will repeat again when come to Langkawi.

yeah we thoroughly enjoyed the stay the hotel is brand spanking new in a gift n small mall area with a plaza of small stores adjacent n food courts serving local fares we rented a car so we moved around daytime a lot the Kuah town is lacking in international franchisees besides McDonald's n KFC fast food outlets well KFC's are badly run here chickens are stale n hard n staff indifferent the managers are ill trained n lack people touch KFC fared badly here McDo ok Duty free us non existent here n prices are higher than KL n lack in varieties here we noticed Corellewares are commonly sold in many outlets all selling the same brands n costly so goes for brand name trainers n sports wears are all same almost as if whole Kuah town is owned by one entrepreneur by the name of Haji Ismail Group car rentals are expensive n there's not much else in Langkawi except the one main beach area with multi Outlets n of course the cable car a top the mountain is a must n only notable draw the Museum is vast area n impressive buildings bit lack exhibits n charges unfairly to foreigners n locals big differences cable car was the stories very costly for foreigners n cheap for Malaysians I must say KL Petronas twin Towers has some great people running the place I was most impressed

Best hotel in Kuah”

This hotel is located in the centre of Kuah town, so there are many duty free shops around the hotel. But the cheapest is in the HIG complex besides the hotel. The employees are well-trained and provide the best service. The choice of food for breakfast is quite good and delicious, especially curry noodles. The room is clean and comfortable and the air conditioning is cool. The water pressure in the bathroom is strong and all the showers work well. The bathroom also has a lower faucet which makes it easy for the muslim to take wudhu. I am very satisfied and will choose this hotel again for my next visit.

Room is comfortable and super clean. Breakfast is great. Service is superb. Staff is friendly Islamic Hotel is near to the HIG mall where people shopping with discount price at Langkawi. Recommended to all old/veteran and family for SHOPPING. Just a few steps you can get all u need in Langkawi with low price.

Close to food and basic shopping”

First the good things. Service was warm when we checked in. When we needed a rental car, the staff helped us secure a good rate for the off-peak season. However, due to lack of prior communication with the car rental provider, we were told of inaccurate information. We like that there's a HIG shopping center just beside the hotel. Unfortunately it does not connect within the building so you have to walk out, still under shelter thankfully. The shopping center has not reached full occupancy for tenants so manage your expectations that the second floor is rather empty. But you can get snacks, kitchenware and even luggages from the shopping center so that's fine. The choice you have to make is whether to visit Langkawi as a surfer dude or a visitor wanting to live nearer the locals. To stay at Cenang will be to welcome late night massages and strolls by the beach. HIG is within the town of Kuah and you won't find much things after 8pm. Our room was non-smoking but I could still smell some smoke.

Nice cosy hotel with duty free complex next door. Clean spacious and well maintained. Walking distance to Kuah town. No newspapers supplied to the room though. Staff friendly and helpful. Good hotel. AGODA pricing was worth the money. And able to use the hotel desktop and internet at the lobby with no payment. Will definitely be staying there when I drop in next in Langkawi. Ample parking space. One of the best”

This is my second stay in Langkawi after my last visit which was 4 years ago. I am very pleased the hotel maintains its cleanliness, the nice foods, the friendly staffs and the facilities nearby (food court, shops). Coin laundry also very near which is very convenient if you are travelling with family for few days. No doubt HIG Hotel is one of the best you can find if you are looking for a comfortable stay.

Very good experience ”

Location is very good, for shopping you can use HIG mall besides the hotel. For lunch and dinner you can try the HIG food plaza in front of hotel. Stayed there for 4 nights, room was quite specious and breakfast was good. Kuah night market is also nearby. Wildlife park and Mangrove tour is easily accessible by Grab or Taxi.

Worth every cent, easy access to food and cabs”

My husband and i stayed at a standard room during the second and third night in langkawi. The room was very comfortable, the staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful. As the hotel is located in kuah, it was easy to get good food, we didn't drive but taxis were easy to get as there is a taxi stand nearby. There is also a foodcourt nearby operated by locals if you don't feel like going out - we had breakfast there, yummy roti canai and nasi lemak. We went on a mangrove tour as arranged by the hotel and it was such a great outing. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in langkawi.

A plesant vacation”

I enjoyed my 3 night stay at HIG hotel and would recommend to others. Rooms were spacious and clean. Ample parking space and near to shopping area and restaurant. Staffs were friendly and helpful especially Mr Haikal that recommended the places of interest in Langkawi. Thanks to everyone that make our stay a good memories.

The hotel is strategically located in Kuah with the famous HIG duty free complex as part of the hotel building. The room is satisfactory and clean. Hotel buffet is simple and could be better with other options. Travelers could do shopping all day long and keep their items in the hotel room. There are many local food outlet in front of the hotel. If you are looking for western food, there are few restaurant nearby. There is a taxi stand in front of the hotel and also other choice of renting a car and use uber or grab. So it makes your life easy to move around. Kuah jetty to take ferry is 10 minutes away while Langkawi International Airport is just 20 minutes from the hotel. For shoppers, it is the best hotel in Langkawi!

Perfect Getaway with Friends”

I am so happy with my choice to stay at HIG Hotel with 2 friends. This hotel is very convenient to wherever we want to go. Lucky too that we arrived on a Wednesday afternoon as we can to recce the NIght Market later in the evening. The rooms are well equipped with "telekung" and "sejadah" for us Muslims to pray. When asked for an extra "sejadah" the staff gave us too as 3 of us to share 1 is a little inconvenient. Cheers HIG Hotel! I will surely come again next trip.

I had a awesome stay for two days in HIG hotel. Staff Atikah was very freindly and helped us a lot. All the staff were friendly and helpful too. There's a shopping mall just beside the hotel. Have many choices of halal food around the hotel. Hotel breakfast had enough choices for children to choose from. We will recommend HIG hotel to all who travel with young children.

Value for money hotel - HIG LGK”

What not to like about HIG LGK? Being an Islamic Hotel, you don't have to worry about taking lift or bumping into hotel corridor with drunk people. If you are with young children, that'll be one of your top priority. It is also strategically located, adjoining to a shopping complex which is a big plus whenever it rains, like what we encountered over the long weekend from 07 to 09 September 19. The place is also super clean, and the staff are very-friendly and will do their utmost best to assist whenever possible. All in all, keep it up HIG LGK!
