Comfortably and cozy”

1) Location 2) Good Restaurants around the hotel 3) Good price.

A year ago, I went to Sydney and stayed elsewhere. In one of my adventures, I went to the Rocks and instantly fell in love with the place. During this trip, I checked out several hotels and among them, Holiday Inn Old Sydney fit every requirement that I had. Fortunately, my expectations were exceeded when I stayed here for 4 nights. I had a grand time (compared to my last trip). My room has a spectacular view of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Bridge. Surrounding the hotel where a variety of mom and pop shops and restaurants that have been there decades ago so food was superb and not commercialized. Since the Rocks is the oldest area in the city, it has a vintage, nostalgic yet cozy ambiance and Holiday Inn has kept the same look and feel despite the up-to-date amenities. I also love the location because I easily got to places I wanted to visit. Its strategically located at or near Circular Quay where most, if not all, public transportation are available. Circular Quay is even the starting point of most tours (Hop on Hop Off bus, Cruises). Best of all, Holiday Inn Old Sydney has the most sensible rate among branded hotels in the area. The others were just really overpriced.

Great location and warm hotel”

Great location

the hotel is located right in front the harbour opposite the opera house. it is within 5 minutes walk to circular quay terminal. very nice view at night along the harbour walk and as well from the roof top of hotel. the front desk staff very friendly and helpful. quick check in and very informative staff. i was there with my family with 2 kids and we had a very comfortable stay in a room with 2 double beds. we stayed 4 nights there and the only upset was the hotel breakfast. we had exactly the same food served everyday. apart from this, overall we love the hotel and will definitely come back to this hotel in my future sydney trip.

Opera house & Harbour bridge view from swimming pool in the terrase & walking distance to them

no complaints except water in the jacuzzi/swimming pool in the terrace should have been warmer especially in the late evening from where one can have fantastic beautiful view of harbour bridge & opera house against sun set in the dusk. great value for money as we a family of 4 could luxuriously stay in the room with confy twin beds big enough to sleep peacefully. highly recommended for those visiting the most visited place in sydney, opera house & harbour bridge. also though centrally located with all the important tourist attractions closer, still in a very calm & peaceful place.

Very good location! You can see the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House on the rooftop of the hotel. Very near the Circular Quay and the train station. There are many shops and restaurant nearby. Had a good time at the Rocks and If you're planning to go on a cruise which we did, the cruise ship is just across the street.

Sydned Harbour Canuk”

Location location location. Nice and clean. Great service. So close to all things in the harbour.
Would have like to see dinner seating in the resturant.

Great place to stay, so close to the harbour and all amenitys. The service was friendy and helfull for resturants and great things to see how to get there and how much time you'll need. Only breakfast buffet was availible in the resturant but luch and dinner was availible in the lounge and in the room. The room was nice and clean, was a bit small but didn't spend to much time in it being in the harbour. With a roof top pool and hot hub area that has an unobstructed view of the opera house that I beleive to be the best in harbour, lounging uptop can be quite relaxing. A 50 dollar taxi ride will see you safly to the front door and seeing some sight allong the way I will be recomending this exsperiance to all. Cheers.

For a slightly more expensive room than the standard rooms they have, we have the view of the Sydney Harbour which is so beautiful particularly at night. This is just a few minutes walk to Circular Quay and made our ferry rides to Manly Beach so convenient as well as all the touring around that we did around The Rocks, Sydney Opera House and CBD.

fantastic view from rooftop, reasonably priced.

this is a typical holiday inn. everything was fine, nothing exceptional except the location and the view from the rooftop. being in the middle of old sydney (the rocks) it is a stone's throw from all sorts of attractions: circular quay, the botanical gardens, the opera house, the harbour bridge, sydney's main shopping area, great pubs, restaurants, bistros, etc. there's a (very small) swimming pool on the top of the hotel with superb views of the opera house and the bridge. if you only want a reasonably priced place to sleep and intend to spend all your time exploring sydney this is a great choice.

Loved my stay at this hotel and will definitely book in again next time I am in Sydney. My room was a bit dated but clean with a very comfortable bed. My room wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with a disability as the shower is in the bath and it is quite steep to step in and out of. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Buffet breakfast was very nice and the views from the rooftop pool and spa are absolutely stunning. Great little hotel ❤️

The experience was fantastic and I will stay there in the future regardless of where I need to be in Sydney, because it is so close to circular quay you have a variety of transport options and can travel to any destination. The staff were happy! They took an interest in you the person, makes a great change from other hotels full of fake smiles. The staff needs to be congratulated. Whatever management is doing to get staff to be genuinely interested needs to continue. Congratulations on an all encompassing great stay.
