The Holly Hotel was a full 5 stars for me. The staff was well prepared to handle a foreigner. Every staff member I spoke to could speak great English. They were super helpful, knowledgable and friendly. The room was very nice with comfortable beds, clean rooms, air conditioned and warm water in the bathroom. I ate dinner in the Thai restaurant downstairs and it was delicious. I only stayed one night so I cannot talk about the surroundings to the hotel. I simply took a taxi from the airport (about $4 for about a 10-15 minute taxi ride) stayed one night and then went back to the airport the next day. All it all, it was a wonderful hotel, a much needed rest and well worth the money. I'll be back on my next stay in Yangon.

Perfect for airport...clean”

I have only positive thoughts on Holly hotel. Arrived here late at night after 3 long haul flights, staff were very welcoming and helpful....rushing out to get my bags and a cool welcome drink was just what I needed. My room was very modern and very clean with all relevant amenities. Wifi worked well in reception and my room. I cannot comment on breakfast as I left at 6am again the next morning so not in time for breakfast, the hotel also swiftly arranged a taxi to the airport for me. I found other hotels in Myanmar to not reply to any emails I had sent to them asking basic questions such as the best way to get from airport to hotel etc...Holly hotel was the only one to reply to me and they also emailed a short time before arrival to ask if I needed any assistance. About a 10 minute drive from the airport so I would definitely recommend you stay here.

Great hotel close to Aung Mingalar Bus Station”

Comfortable, spacious room. Spotlessly clean and very cool air-conditioning. Free drinking water dispenser on each floor (next to the lift) for refilling your water bottles. Staff were helpful and efficient, and restaurant food was very nice for dinner and breakfast. No obvious nearby restaurants, but a short walk up or down the highway would give plenty of options. About a 5-minute walk (500m?) to the Aung Mingalar Highway Bus Station, so great for my one-night stay before catching an early morning bus..... There are not many other hotels within walking distance of the Bus Station, and it made things much simpler to walk and not have to estimate transfer times in Yangon traffic! Roughly a 30-minute bus ride from the airport to the hotel. Probably much quicker by taxi as the bus took a slightly circuitous route.

This hotel was great!!! I was relieved when the taxi drove into the parking lot and I saw the hotel for the first time. It's super nice and the staff greeted me at the taxi. It seems all the hotel staff speak good English was was a huge help for me since all I know is hello and thank you in Burmese. The hotel lobby was nice and cool considering it was about 37 degrees Celsius when I showed. The welcome drink was refreshing and the receptionist already had my reservation documents at the counter. Perfect customer service. The hotel room was very clean with hot water and all the amenities of a nice hotel. I was given access to the free wifi. It was a little slow but did indeed work. My room had a flat screen TV, hot water kettle, complimentary water bottles and a stocked mini bar. The hotel has a nice Thai restaurant on the ground floor. The chicken stir fry was excellent. I slept great and will definitely return to this hotel. I only stayed one night as I was in transit in Yangon so I cannot really speak for the surroundings. I could see a large pagoda from my 6th floor window. I wholeheartly recommend the hotel.

Nice location for a short stay before transit or late arrival”

We arrived at Yangon at around 01:30 in the morning and the hotel was just perfect for us to get some rest before we went to Downtown the other day. It just took about 10 minutes by taxi to get there. The staff was very friendly and readily attentive to our late arrival. Room was spacious and clean. Given the price, could not ask for more on the variety for breakfast. Yet everything was tasteful and allowed us to experience the first Burmese flavors ever. Some minutes of walk from the hotel led us to some local shops where we bought our first longyi. The guys there could not speak English at all but with all the body language and smile on their faces, we learnt how to put on the longyi.

Holly is a simple hotel near the Mingalardon bus station at the northern end of the airport runway. Because of narrow, congested roads, the trip to airport can take 20-60 minutes, depending on traffic. The hotel is new and clean, with large rooms, comfortable beds, good hot water pressure in the showers. Cafe is really nice. Staff everywhere in the hotel are wonderfully polite and extremely helpful. My lower score for facilities is because of 3 things: 1) in the rainy season, the air is in the rooms always damp, even with the aircon working 24/7. I think they have an aircon system that recirculates the air, so it doesn't remove the dampness well even if set to "dry." So I'm hesutant to stay here again in the rainy season, although happy to come when the weather is dry. 2) Bathroom floors are extremely slilpery. Have to hang on to the shower fixture for grim death in case I slip! I think this is caused by the cleaning products they use, or how well the floor is washed off. 3) Would apprecuate a hand-rail in the shower to protect against falls. This will help w the problem of slippery floors, but also be appreciated by older guests. Note: this hotel does not have a gym, but the hallways are wide and airconditioned, good for walking laps. And if u bring a resistance band, the hand-rail in the central stairway is strong and permits a wide range of exercises using the band.

Good stay”

Stayed here for one night as I was in transit from Bagan. The hotel is about a 30 minute taxi ride from the airport during slightly rush hour timings. Hotel room is clean and comfy bed to sleep in. I got room service this night as I was too tired to go downstairs at the restaurant and eat. Ordered three main dishes for a price of about 15 SGD. Unimaginable in SG to eat this much for this price. One of my main dishes, a burger, was super delicious as well. Had to check out the next morning. Toilet was clean and hot water for shower. Will stay here again if I have another transit in Yangon in the future.

Another visit to a favourite hotel ”

If you want to be in the airport area this is a great hotel. I've stayed here many times, it's clean and comfortable with good WiFi and a very good little restaurant. Also really friendly staff. Getting into central Yangon is about 45 minutes by taxi

Exceptional”

We love the Holly Hotel! The staff are wonderful, friendly, and attentive. We have stayed there many times and we are always pleased with the service we get. The proximity to the airport is an added bonus.

Good for morning bus schedule.”

When you need to take a morning bus from Yangon to other tour destinations, it's best choice. Nice hotel staffs, good breakfast and excellent room condition. But nothing to do around... No tea shop, no beer station and no convenience store. Only hotel's cafe..

This hotel can save your energy during your long trip in Myanmar”

We can walk from Aung Min Galar Express Bus Terminal to this hotel. This location can save your energy a lot because you do not need to negotiate fees with taxi driver in the midnight (and it can make you exhausted here, anytime) just after your extremely long trip from other part of Myanmar to Yangon.

Suited our purpose.”

It was a little way out from the centre of Yangon but near the airport and convenient to where we wanted to go. The staff were friendly, helpful and more than willing to assist with all of our needs and wants. Rooms were specious and clean with all the basics. Restaurant provided a range of western and Asian options throughout the day at good prices.

Clean and handy location for airport”

Its a relatively new hotel so modern, clean room didn't disappoint. Best shower of our trip in Myanmar. Breakfast was a simple buffet. Location wise its about 25-30mins from airport. Considering traffic in Yangon thats quite good. (morning to airport was about 20mins)

Pleasant ”

Did not stay here for a night but booked Holly Hotel just for rest in the day before catching my night bus to Bagan. I felt welcomed and warm by the staffs. Rooms were clean ans comfortable with the necessary amenities in place. However, there is nothing much to walk around the vicinity so it would only be good if you are just resting for the day. Staffs were helpful and the food at the Thai restaurant is good.

Clean and modern. Great shower and superbly comfortable bed and pillows. Great location for airport (20 min taxi) and national coach network terminus. (5 min walk) Central Yangon can take 90 mins by taxi due to traffic.

Great Place and the Staff makes it all worth while”

The buffet breakfast was great, although a little cold on days. I've stayed many places in Yangon and all were quite good. But Holly was by far our favourite.

Excellent Hotel not convenient to Airport”

The Holly Hotel is wonderful. The staff are excellent. It is close to the airport on the map; but you have to drive a long way around to reach the airport

Stayed for convenience; would have been easier to go into town instead”

I booked this hotel for its convenient location to the bus terminal. But, with the taxi drivers' racketeering, I ended up paying a similar fare to get to the Holly Hotel as I would have to get to Inya Lake. The facilities were a little run down, although the room was nice. I thought there was a pool and a fitness center, but I did not see one (nor would I have wanted to be in an outdoor space in this area). Even if you're taking an early flight, the extra time traveling from somewhere nicer in Yangon is probably worth it for more amenities. Of course, the saving grace for this hotel was the absolutely phenomenal staff, particularly the young men who shuttle your bags back and forth. Staff at reception is a little on the chilly side, but perhaps only in comparison to the warmth of the other staff. All in all, they're doing a good enough job, but for the money, I'd stay elsewhere in Yangon.
