"Staying here was one of the best part of our trip. Little did we know that this hostel was actually a training ground for their students to help them gain first-hand experience in the hospitality industry and each stay will contribute to the funding of this program, providing free education to the local youths in Myanmar! Hence, the students were genuinely sincere, attentive and dedicated to ensure that we have the most pleasant stay possible. Our room was very spacious, clean and nicely set-up with aesthetically minimal and modern design which gave us a cozy vibe. Also, the location of this hostel is excellent. If you are looking for a place to stay in Yangon, look no further. "

"I booked this hostel for our two-nights city tour in Yangon after we came from a Bagan. The place is within downtown Yangon and near Sule Pagoda, Chinatown and within walking distance to Bogyoke Aung San Market and Yangon Central Train Station (for the Circular Train experience!) The rooms are clean and private and as well as the shared bathrooms. They have a common room and small breakfast area with unlimited coffee, juice and water refill. They serve lighy breakfast for free - egg and toast or pancakes. We arrived at 8am and the staff were accommodating they let us stay in the common area so we can rest, have access to the internet, shared bathrooms and coffee! There is a mini grocery beside the hostel where I bought my pasalubong - wafers, chocolates, rice cookies, and noodles! You can take a short taxi ride to shwedagon pagoda and kandawgyi lake if you dont want to walk. Will stay here again if I have the chance. 💕"

"This is the best hostel in yangon. I've already been on three separate occasions and every time I need to go through yangon i always go back. They are very reliable. The staff is so helpful and kind with everything from bus tickets to directions around the city. Their English is really good and improving. The beds are big and comfortable, and very clean hotel-like sheets. At first glance it doesnt seem like a good place for solo travelers, but turns out the rooftop area is really cool and has a great view. Breakfast is good too. In general you really get your money's worth. Would recommend 100 percent."

"The Four Rivers Hostel is an excellent "home-base" to explore the bustling city of Yangon. The center of Yangon is just a short walk away, at the same time the hostel offers all the anemities needed to recharge the batteries (nice interior set-up, clean bath rooms, large beds etc.). Would definitely stay here again! We visited in late Dec 2015 and stayed for 2 nights in one of the smaller rooms with 3 beds."

"Clean, comfortable, quiet. Great location. Amazing staff. Amazing value for money. Just beware the Four Rivers is run by Amico del Myanmar so this is where you should head to (we didn't know and had trouble finding it)"

"I have travelled to Yangon many times and this hostel is in the best location near bogoke market, it is clean with quality linen bedding, the simple breakfast with fresh coffee is better than most, the restaurant and coffeeshop provides excellent cuisine and some of the best fresh coffee in yangon, the staff and guests add to the great vibe of this place, games available, large verandahs for laundry and relaxation, cheap tickets available and unlike most hostels you can choose the bus company etc of your own choice. perfect hostel for a perfect holiday or for business in yangon as it also has the best wifi"

"Nice location, great facilities, pleasant staff and accommodating management (owner is cool) BUT I found a bedbug, just one, but still enough to lead to the possibility they multiply and become a problem. The owner seemed very open to hearing about and addressing the issue, so hopefully the problem is eradicated before your stay. If you get bit in the middle of the night, don't assume it's a mosquito, turn on your phone light and check for fast crawling little critters similar to size and shape of baby cockroaches! and whatever you do, keep you bags zipped and stuff packed away inside and preferably leave you stuff in the lockers in the hall.. you don't want to take these home with you AND you don't want to spread them around!"

"I was spending 3 nights at Shwe Yo hostel during water festival holidays and had a good time in Yangon! The family owned hostel is a great place to be: Best location, very nice and helpful family and staff that speak good English and help you a lot with travel planning, things to do around Yangon and prepare the most delicious (vegetarian) food I had so far in Myanmar :) Although many sightseeing places and restaurants were closed during the water festival, it never got boring at the hostel because we went on a free walking tour, exchanged experiences about Myanmar & travels and could try out some special Burmese deserts that the family prepared at the hostel. The place is clean and good for socializing with other travelers, I am more than happy with my stay and can totally recommend it!!! :)"

"It was really great. I usually don't stay in hostels when i travel, because it's always uncomfortable. But coming to Yangon and checking coup,e of not expencive guesthouses i didn't like them and decided to check this hostel which had really good reviews. It was a good decision! Hostel is good located, it haa the best shower i had in Myanmar, spacious rooms where you actually don't feel you are in dorm, really good aircon, good breakfast included with a choice of Myanmar breakfast and western toasts, free coffee and tea(great green tea!) all day long, laundry service, ticket booking, taxi booking. Hostel staff is very professional and incredibly helpful, all of them are doing their best to be the best!i arrived on the bicycle as I am on a cycling trip, but wanted to have couple of days rest and go to the sea with the bus for the New Year's eve. They offered to keep my bicycle and panniers for this period for free. Besides they helped me to book a bus ticket for my husband who arrived after I left and when he came they offered him juice and towel and shower for free. Though he didn't stay there for a night because had a bus to the sea. It is really cery nice gesture from hostel's staff which we really appreciated! Thanks a lot for the great stay in Yangon!"

"This was one of the most pleasant hotels I stayed at during my trip to Myanmar - room and common area was much more comfortable, clean and cozy than more expensive and supposedly luxurious hotels. And all at a very reasonable price (I paid USD 50 per night). The mattress was new, sheets and towels very clean (in almost all the other hotels I stayed at sheets and towels were stained) and the room was cozy. The location was also good, in a more quiet area of Yangon and still in walking distance to the Bogyoke Aung San Market, with excellent views from the room and the nice breakfast terrace over downtown Yangon and two pagodas. What made the stay even more special was the nice and attentive staff. Too bad I stayed there only for the last night of my trip to Myanmar. I would recommend this hotel to everyone traveling to Yangon and will definitely stay there again when returning to Yangon. "
