Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka
Umeda,Osaka - View on map
"Japan is tough for hotels...they are very expensive and the rooms are usually TINY, especially in Tokyo and Kyoto. This hotel was different. It wasn't cheap, but it was much less expensive than the hotels we booked in other cities, but the room was GREAT. The bed was the most comfy we had all trip. The view was excellent. The AC worked great. The bed wasn't in a corner--two bedside tables! And the lighting was thoughtfully done and not harsh. Water pressure was not quite as good as the other hotels we stayed in. The location is in a hotel zone in the north of Osaka, near the main station. It was a decent location. There is a whole maze of underground pathways/shopping areas that lead you to the various stations nearby, so it was always fun walking through those to hit the metro or JR lines. We walked a LOT though. So if you're not into that, maybe stay more central or closer to a station. But it was raining in Osaka and we spent half the time underground which worked out great!"

Art Hotel Osaka Baytower

"This is one of the best hotels we stayed while in Japan. We stayed in a delux triple room which had three single beds and plenty of space. The hotel is new with excellent service. The hotel is connected to JR Bentencho station via a walk way which was easy to find. There is also a Family Mart opposite the hotel. Plenty of restaurants nearby with reasonable prices. We will definitely come back to this hotel the next time we are in Osaka. "

Dormy Inn Premium Namba Natural Hot Spring
Shinsaibashi,Osaka - View on map
"We booked the hotel basically because of the central location and as it offered one of the Japanese hot springs within the hotel area for free. The rooms are a little small (guess that's normal for Japan) but super handy. All we needed was in place, even an universal charger for Ipad, Samsung etc. WIFI was for free and superfast, no annoying logon process at all. Me and my girlfriend felt very comfortable and relaxed in our room. The hotel itself is pretty new and located 10min walk from JR Namba station which is a good connection to the Airport. From the hotel just a 5 minute walk and you are in Dontoburi area with lots of restaurants and a little further a nice shopping street, offered all you might be interested. We have had an amazing weekend in Osaka and because we liked the Hotel so much decided to pay for a day longer (Japan doesn't know late check out)instead for further sightseeing, have a relaxing day until we have to take off for our night flight. We really just can recommend that place!"

LIBER HOTEL AT UNIVERSAL STUDIO JAPAN
Bay Area,Osaka - View on map
"If USJ is part of your itinerary, Liber Hotel might just be the hotel for you. It is a station away from USJ entrance and if you have JR pass you are well connected to Japans major sight attractions without spending on fare. Facilities are good, big enough rooms to open lugagges, nice room view and public onsen is a good addition. But the hotel staff needs to hire English speaking employees or at least present employees/staff has to learn and improve their English because we find it hard to communicate with them. We have to read between sign languages. Staff though has been trying hard to communicate and please their guest and things would also be easier for them if they can communicate English to their English speaking guest. Over all, we had a good stay and will definitely be staying again once back in Osaka."

Dormy Inn Premium Osaka Kitahama Hot Springs
Umeda,Osaka - View on map
"It’s just 4 minutes walk away from Kitahama station which makes commuting around very convenient. The hotspring facilities are good & clean. However, the room is a little small but I’d say it’s pretty standard in Japan. Breakfast is normal. I’d still say it is not a bad choice if you’d like to stay in a hotspring hotel in Osaka, otherwise you can opt for alternative options. "

Hotel Monterey La Soeur Osaka
Osaka Castle & Kyobashi,Osaka - View on map
"Very close to JR line and Metro just around 5 minute walk. A little far from Kansai airport but it is in the center of Osaka. Next to the Osaka castle just less than 10 minutes walk. For business people who attend trade show at Osaka business park, this place is just 5 minutes walk. For traveller who enjoy jogging along side river, this place is next to O river. Although it is in the center of city, it's not so crowded. 24hr Family mart on the 1st floor. It's a heaven for late check in. Plus, during my stay, hotel offer free smart phone service. I can use it for internet and call to other place in Japan for free. (They said you can make international call for free but I haven't try it.) If I have a chance to visit Osaka again, this place is a must. Highly recommended."

Hotel Hanshin Osaka
Umeda,Osaka - View on map
"We had a very pleasant stay. From the airport, we managed to catch a Kansai Airport Express train going to Kyobashi so we got off at JR Fukushuma without changing trains in Tennoji. We arrived in Hotel Hanshin at around 930pm and got our room key in 3 minutes, very efficient. The rooms are relatively small but large enough for 2 persons and always clean and bright. We were given a comfortable room at the 22nd floor with a fantastic view of the Umeda Sky Building. The bathroom had complete amenities and even had a hot spring water option. The best feature of the hotel is its 5 minute access (literally a few steps across) to JR Fukushima station that linked us to other JR trains for Kansai airport, Kobe, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima (via Shin Osaka), Osaka Castle, Tempozan, Universal Studios, Namba and other Osaka locations. There are 2 convenience stores right beside the hotel, a great steak place, several Japanese restaurants and the usual fast food outlets (Mac Donald's, Mister Donut and Mos Burger). The clientele were mostly local businessmen and touring couples like us, none of the noisy group tours jamming the lobby. The only minor downsides are its use of the old metal keys instead of plastic electronic keys, no in-room safe and the need to buy TV cards (not important to us who were always out anyway). I have stayed in 5-star hotels in Namba and the Osaka Business District but none of them can beat the convenient location of Hotel Hanshin. I will definitely stay in Hotel Hanshin on my next visit and also recommend it to my friends."

APA Villa Hotel Osaka-Tanimachi 4Chome-Ekimae
Osaka Castle & Kyobashi,Osaka - View on map
"This hotel is very well located in Osaka. It is right outside exit 8 of Tanimachae 4 subway station. Hotel is clean and well kept although I was disappointed to find a large amount of long black hair in my hotel room loo. I did report this and reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The one downside was that the room is really small even by Japanese standards. It really only was the size of the double bed with a small passage at the side. This was ok for one person but would be too small for two. Worth checking room measurements when booking. Breakfast was very good if looking for an Asian one but as often in Japan there were eggs toast fruit juice and coffee for westerners. I found this quite acceptable as you rarely get fresh fruit with breakfast in mid range Japanese hotels. "
