Cost concience holidaying”

Again this time I stayed at Hotel 81 Princess when holidaying in Singapore as they are always ready to help you any way they can to make your stay more pleasant. The rooms are clean and quiet. High speed internet access in each room and although there is no room service, anything you need is 1 minute walk to a 7-11 or dozens of other shops selling anything you need. The Manager appears to never go home, ensuring the hotel is kept running at 100%. 24 Hour reception is good when I arrive at 3.00am to book in. Yes, the hotel is located in the Red Light district, but I feel safer walking the roads at any time than I do in my local neighborhood at home.

Perfect Hotel”

The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Aljunied MRT station. The staff are friendly and the room is clean. Our room has a beautiful view in the morning, a spacious soccer green field. There are a lot of small stores nearby, a mosque is just a few minutes away. We ate at No Signboard restaurant, 5 minutes walk from the hotel where they served great food. Next time we will be in Singapore, we will always book at Hotel 81-Princess.

We always stay at this particular Hotel 81 (Princess), as we have always received 1st class service. 24 Hour check-in is great as we normally arrive in Singapore at about 3am. Had a problem with the Internet connection to begin with. This was fixed the next morning and we were given free access for the rest of our stay. (Soon to have wireless access installed) New manager who is as friendly and helpful as the previous one. Quiet rooms and always cleaned daily.

Over all the hotel is more than good. At the prevailing price this is good value for money. Singapore is not a cheap place, hence one should not expect too much for that price. The so called red light district that oftentimes mentioned in the hotel reviews are exaggerated. The whole area should not be considered as that, there are only some establishment in the vicinity that have this hospitality girls. I do not even feel it, eventhough I passed by on some of these, as I was not bothered at all since they are not intimidating or persistent in their trade to would be client. Hotel 81 Princess is not in the Geyland Road where some night clubs or bars are located.

My impression is that Singapore is a tough place to get a low priced hotel room in that isn't a complete pit or a backpacker hovel. So, a number of these hotels in Geylang actually work pretty well if your budget is closer to USD 50 than USD 150. I suspect that the dual use feature of Geylang hotels (presumably, a lot of the rooms are rented by the hour) is what keeps the prices low. Geylang itself, apart from the rather 'robust' nightlife has a. fantastic, inexpensive open air restaurants, b. pretty good electronics shopping, c. great access to the MRT, d. is ground zero for buying some of the best Durian in the world.

The ISO qualified of Hotel 81 Chain does not prove the cleaness, but its located is perfect to get to the bus stops, 7-11 and restaurants. At 81 Princess, the bed linens are clean but the foot matt is as same as 81 Orchid, dirty. The receptionist girl is very helpful but the guy is not at all, when we ask for the reason of number of bottle of water. He said only a SGD per bottle without any explaination. Over all, we do statisfied just wondering about the curious of bottle of water.

Bitter gourd and Super high class face on all the reception counter staff ”

The hotels and room is ok, worth the price, but the reception all of them (morning,afternoon and night staff) have Bitter gourd and Super high class face on them.. only one old uncle I think he manages the cleaning and laundry who is around the age of 60 plus, always put on a smile. Boss of hotel 81 princess,, hope you can sent all the reception staff for customer services course again and also learn from the old uncle, I think the reception staff all salaries no up, Super un professional., attitude problem.

This Hotel 81 Princess has a good location for all buses going to city,nostalgic Arab Street, museum,shopping centre and National Art Gallery.Taxi is so easy to get and Asian cuisine in Geylang Streets has the Best Assam Pedas Red Snapper. Marvellous Rendang Malay Food.

Hotel 81 Princess is a budget hotel. However, if what you require is a basic hotel providing a clean and secure room in which to stay, Hotel 81 Princess provides good value for money. Rooms are small and basic, but if you simply require the room for sleeping and little else, it has everything that you need. The MRT is a 10 minute walk away and there is easy access to buses and taxi's. The vicinity of the hotel has many food stalls. As this hotel is in Geylang it is not best suited for families with Children

Basic hotel for a short holiday”

Location is within walking distance to the MRT station. It is away from the complicated places in Geylang, so I felt safe while bringing my children out for dinner at night. I was here on vacation with Travel Delight. They planned our day activities like Universal Studios Singapore, Singapore city tour, Sentosa tour and Legoland Malaysia. At night, my children and I walked around the areas nearby our hotel. There is a wide variety of local food to try. Overall a good hotel. The rooms were large enough, ventilation was good, the bathroom was clean.

I stayed at Hotel 81 Princess for two nights. Really enjoyed my stay. The location is very central, probably about equidistant from the airport and the city. The area surrounding the hotel has many different restaurants and KTVs. The room itself is comfortable and I had no problems getting a good night's rest.

I regularly stay at the Hotel 81 Princess and will certainly stay there again. After previously staying at a wide cross section of hotels in Singapore, Hotel 81 Princess has become my hotel of choice. The reason for this is that it provides great "value for money". It is not a fancy hotel and this needs to be recognised. However, if what you require is a clean, safe, conveniently located room, it is a good choice. Rooms are small, but provided you do not intend to spend extended periods of waking time in your room, this should not be an issue.

I have become a regular guest at the Hotel 81 Princess. My first stay at this hotel was made with some reluctance and only because the hotel at which I normally stay was full. Hotel 81 Princess turned out to be a pleasant surprise. If you are looking for clean, safe basic accomodation then this hotel is a good choice. However, if you wish to spend alot of time in your hotel room this is probably not a good hotel for you as the rooms are quite small. But hey - who wants to spend a lot of time in their hotel room.

Best Central Location in Geylang”

If you are planning to stay in Geylang I recommend this hotel for its central location in the middle of all the Lorongs. Its is affordable and probably the better of all the Hotel 81 chains. I always stay here when I am fly through via Sungapore and I have an early plane flight the next morning. So you can go out, have your fun and a meal all within walking distance and still be home early in the night. There are plenty of internet cafe's just outside also which is very handy. Also not far from the airport and the staff are very helpful getting you a taxi.

I find Hotel 81 Princess a good choice of hotel. It provides perfectly adequate accomodation at a reasonable price. It is also fairly conveniently located. MRT access is a 10-15 minute walk away and buses or Taxis are easily accessible. As the Hotel is located in Geylang there is something going on in the vicinity of the hotel 24 hours a day. Good food is available at numerous shops and roadside stalls.

Of these, the best "value for money" has been provided by Hotel 81 Princess. It is of course a budget hotel, and this should be recognised. However, if you simply require a clean, safe and conveniently located room, Hotel 81 Princess is hard to beat.

Hotel 81 Princess provides good value for money accomodation. It is a budget hotel and the facilities are basic. However, it was clean and safe. The rooms are small and the only facilities are a TV and a water boiler. These are sufficient if you just require a room for sleeping and are not going to spend much waking time in the room. Hotel is fairly convenient for travelling around. The nearest MRT is a 10 minute walk away and taxis and buses are available close by. The hotel is situated in Geylang and as such is not really suited to families with Children.

The rooms are small, but unless you wish to spend you waking time holed up in a hotel room, this should not be a problem. The hotel is located in the red light district and on certain days many girls can be seen on the streets. For this reason I would not recommend this hotel for families with children. However, for everyone else who is simply looking for a "value for money hotel" to use as a base when in Singapore, the Hotel 81 is an excellent choice.

Holiday on a budget”

Again we stayed at the Hotel 81 Priness. We know there is no bar fridge in the room, that's why we buy a plastic bucket and fill it with ice. The rooms are always clean and tidy. They wait to make up your room until you go out, so they don't bother you if you want to sleep late. 24 Hour reception is great as we normally arrive about 3am from our flight. We were given a room as far away from other guests as possible. Internet access in the room at good price per day. Friendly staff who are happy to suggest places to experience. Will always come back here.
