I'd stay here again - very standard hotel”

Firstly, I'd like to say if you've not stayed in a Japanese city hotel before then you might be surprised at the size of the rooms - they're not big. But that's normal. The room in my twin suite was standard sized, clean and had a TV, phone, power outlets etc. The bathroom again, fairly small but standard - although the shower pressure was fantastic; exactly what I needed after a long flight. The location is good, on a main road (although good soundproofing) and a 10 minute walk from Umeda/Osaka station. If you are using Kansai International airport, there is also a shuttle bus that arrives at/leaves from New Hankyuu Hotel (next to Umeda staion) every half hour or so. This is also only a 10 minute walk from your hotel. The staff were very polite and helpful and spoke English. A very average hotel, but with good value for money - I was very happy with it. Just to point out, if you stay at a Japanese hotel, they will often take a photocopy of your ID (if you're a tourist this is usually your passport) so don't be alarmed or suspicious. It's standard procedure and your details are safe.

No Problem Stay”

As me of May 25th - I came back, so it can't be bad. Wi-fi performed better this time. Staff are cheerful/helpful and some appear able to speak basic English, if necessary. Iron board available, but no room safe...not a deal-breaker in a country like Japan, as it's so safe. Clean and great location, if you want to make use of Umeda. Reasonable value - see my previous review regarding room size, though.

Nice hotel in a not so bad location”

There is a kaiten sushi restaurant on the right, and a family restaurant on the left of the hotel. Also, two convenience stores within walking distance. Fairly nearby to Osaka Station (JR) and Umeda Station (Hankyu),

Good choice around Osaka station”

Perfect location, close to Umeda station, where you can take the Hankyu railway to Arashiyama. Osaka station can also be reached in around 10 min walk. Good connection to other parts of the city. Wide selection of restaurants and shops in the area nearby. There is a convenience store just a few steps from the hotel.

Good location”

We stayed at this hotel for only one night. The location is good, walking distance to Osaka Station, Restaurants, Department- and Convienient stores. One airport bus stop is just opposite the hotel. The rooms are very small, but they have everything you need. Very friendly staff.

A bit far from Osaka Station”

I confirmed my trip a week prior to my departure and it's very difficult to find a hotel with reasonable price especially in New Osaka and Umeda area. The hotel was a bit old and small and the worst part is that the door lock is opened with key that I feel like going back to the 80s. Apart from size, I am fine with the rest with the rate I paid.

Great location, great hotel!”

We had a twin room for 3 nights and we are satisfying almost on everything we need! We joint the bed together and it's a 8 foot mattress for us! Twin room is big and cozy compare to others japanese standard room. So thoughtful of the hotel they even provide air humidifiers in room. Clean and comfortable room, friendly staff, near to restaurants, convenience shop, subway station and major shopping area and complexes. Need me to say anything more?

Great location if you're travelling by bus”

I liked that it's close to the subway (about 6-10 mins. walk) and that it's very close (5 mins.) to the bus stop for overnight buses out of Osaka. Staff were friendly they didn't actually mind that we camped out at their lobby for about 5 hours while waiting for our bus ride to Tokyo.

Good location; clean basic hotel”

If you want a clean basic hotel for a good price, then I recommend this hotel. It is about a 10 minute walk from JR Osaka station, so it is close to a number of shops including Yodobashi Camera. There are restaurants and convenience stores close by.

My Stay at Hotel Sunroute Umeda ”

The hotel is located quite far from the JR Osaka Station. Although it was stated 10 mins walk from the station but in actul fact we took more than 10 mins. As the hotel is located along the main street sometimes the traffic in the night can be quite noisy. Sleep can be quite affected if you are a light sleeper. We didn't really enjoyed our stay in the room due to the constrained of space which restricted movement. Overall it is clean and well kept but suitable for two persons in a room instead of three persons.

A comfortable stay at a reasonable rate.”

I booked a small double room for two nights since I had some time free at the end of a business trip. The room was typical Japan small with a tub/shower and amenities, comfortable bed, refrigerator, and water heater. The location is excellent, only 10 minutes walk from Osaka JR station where there is shopping and dining. In between there are a number of yakitori, sushi, and okonomiyake bars as well as theatres and cinemas. The staff was familiar with English and were quite helpful.

Decent business hotel”

Centrally located hotel with English speaking staff and a very clean hotel environment (newly refurbished?). The rooms are averagely sized for a Japanese business hotel (i.e. small), but adequate unless you are of gargantuan proportions or sporting a gaggle of young kids. Iron available but no room safe. The only real downside was the wi-fi connection, which was awful on the fifth floor - fortunately, I didn`t need to use it on this trip. A computer is available for use in the lobby, though. Would stay again, for sure.

Very good”

The only minus of this hotel only the location is far from Umeda Station, so if you backpacker with children and many luggages , prepare more time and stamina left after you strolling around all day.

Comfortable and convenient”

Booked this hotel as it was near the office, extremely convenient. Staff were polite and lovely (well it is Japan afterall), and room was perfectly fine. It's relatively fuss free, but very clear, comfortable, and the price was reasonable. i liked that there were convenience stores, restaurants, and the train station really near to the hotel.

Good Location, Cozy Room”

The hotel was a little hard to find, so we thought it was hard to get there, but it actually turned out to be quite close to Osaka station. The front desk staff was quite helpful. The room was cozy, the internet was fast, and the bed was comfortable. Overall, a good stay.

Great Hotel”

Have stayed in this hotel for the fourth time. Just 15 mins walk away from the Osaka Station. Next to the hotel, is a great sushi shop and a convenient store. Just 10 mins walk to Nakatsu station. Great place. Will definitely come again.

Excellent location & service by staffs.”

I stayed for only 1 night. I could see the hotel immediately after stepping out of Shinkansen. Reception was friendly and helpful, room was big, clean and cimfortable. Will definitely return if I go to Okayama.

Hotel location is good, on a quiet open road. Only 5 minute walk to shopping and dining. 10 minute to Subway. Friendly staffs. Room is a bit small, but very clean.

15 min walk from trains, good food options nearby”

15 minutes walk from Osaka Station, once you figure out the route. The hotel can be difficult to locate initially as it is not easily spotted from the station. Numerous inexpensive food options nearby and a couple of places to grab coffee. Only complain is that the staff is extraordinarily unhelpful and unfriendly by Japanese standards. In fact, they would be almost surly by any standards.

The room was too small”

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel just for 1 night. The room was awfully small and felt claustrophobic. The bed was too small, and the shower/bath/toilet was too small too. I guess it's enough if one person is only going back to the hotel just to sleep, but for two it may be a squeeze. Good thing about this hotel that it is very clean. Everything is disinfected and immaculate. Also the location is pretty good too.
