Great ski place”
Clean, and friendly staff. Good rooms, we had the traditional Japanese rooms and it was comfortable. Take note of the steep uphill climb to the lobby though, it may put some folks off, especially after a long day at the slopes or if you're dragging a big bag up!

The location is a bit un-convenient to bus station, and the steep slope before reaching the hotel. It will be better to provide pick up service from bus station. However it's close to Gondola which is very good. Onsen is good but opening time is limited. A bit disappointed that I can't have Onsen while waking up in the morning. Facilities are good except, there is microwave to heat up food from Lawson. Bed is too hard, remember to ask staff if there are additional mattress. Heat room doesn't always "heat", they only turn on the machine at night I think. Staff are very helpful. Overall it's still recommended.

Friendly hotel in a good location”
The staff were great. Communication was quick and clear and each time I messaged with a question they were very helpful. Our room (with Western beds) was spacious enough for 3 of us. A small fridge would have been helpful, but I was able to leave milk in the fridge at reception. It was great that the shuttle stop was directly outside. We rented our gear from Woody’s and got a 10% discount as we were staying at Hotel Bonfire. Could leave all gear there if we didn’t want to carry it back to the hotel. We were driven to the bus station on our last day. No room service, but bins were emptied on request and towels changed if necessary. All the reviews informed our expectations and we had a very pleasant stay.

Excellent location, poor breakfast”
The Hotel locates near gondola of Happo One. Very convenient to go to ski resort and restaurant for dinner by short walking. The only concern is poor breakfast.

Average, OK if you don't have other options”
Although the hotel is right next to the Gondola (lift), it is not directly accessible and requires a walk down (and later up!) a very steep slope followed by a 10-minute walk on the road. They don't provide a pick-up/drop-off shuttle from the bus terminal/base camp unlike some other accommodations, so you'd have to book a taxi or walk down the slope to take the free shuttle. There was also harmless bugs crawling around in the corridors and occasionally in the room. Tatami rooms are not ideal, it was very hard sleeping on the floor and we had to replace all the sheets by ourselves, every time they cleaned the room. Pros though, the people were all friendly and accommodating to requests, the rooms were warm and hot water was very good. Plenty of restaurants to choose from within walking distance. Breakfast was in the form of bento boxes, they were tasty but not enjoyable for our young kids.

The location was excellent right at the base of the Happo one ski lift. The Onsen was good, however the food and staff were very ordinary.

A hotel makes you feel like your home!”
Good location just 5 mins walk to the Gondola and resturant. Clean and tidy rooms with bathroom and toilet. Homemade fresh breakfast, nice onsen and bar, free wifi and friendly & helpful staff! If you are looking for a home-feel hotel for ski, definitely come to Hotel Bonfire!

Pleasant and unforgettable stay ”
The hotel staff were really nice and helpful, provided us with recommendation of what to eat and where to go. Lee even offered to send us personally to the harder accessible locations and even help get my Daughter a cake from town for her birthday. It was an overall nice and pleasant place to stay. Highly recommended. Location is right beside the shuttle bus service, equipment rental shops and gondola station.

It's actually not just a 2- star hotel but a 3-4 star hotel! Clean and tidy, special decoration and equipped with Onsen, bar, wifi...... very helpful and friendly staff makes you very relax and causal during your stay!

The owner picked us up from the bus terminal, was patient in answering every question, and prepared our breakfast to go since we will leave the hotel early in the morning before the restaurant would open.

The host, Lee, is great and their service level is excellent. I will choose this hotel again because of them. This hotel is located very close to Rental shop and Gondola but not ski in/out in a strictly speaking manner. You have to walk down and up for the Gondola.

The hotel is nice. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room is clean. Facilities can be improved. There are a lot of simple little details that would make this hotel ideal for travellers. ie having a kettle and cups in the room. Breakfast needs more love and care. Luckily, there are many food places nearby.
