Fantastic”
Great hotel - very friendly helpful staff. Spacious clean bedroom. Pefect location next to metro and all the key sites only a short walk away. Very quiet. Comfortable beds. Only thing that was missing was tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Did not travel”
I did not travel as the dates booked mistakenly booked rooms for a different date. The hotel management was not ready to change the dates as its a no-refundable booking. Had to book another hotel and shell out extra money.

Good value for money”
I was a solo traveler on a quick sightseeing trip so location-wise this was a great place to launch into all the nice places to see for a first time traveler with easy access to the metro. There are many very interesting food and drinks joints nearby. The staff was very professional. The few things that one needs to be doubly sure is to check if the bathroom is connected to the room or is common one away from the room. My room had no water heater to prepare a quick tea and it had just enough space to lay open my big suitcase. The breakfast is a basic one with no frills so don't expect anything hot and freshly prepared. I enjoyed my stay!

Gerber in November”
I got a very good rate on Agoda. It's close to the metro station and walking distance from the Vatican/Vatican Museums and the second Velavevodetto restaurant. Good spread at breakfast although there are no hot food items. Some furniture seems a touch old but it's quiet and comfortable.

Good location to walk to the sights we wanted to see. Small room, had to step over our suitcases on the floor. No ice machine, we couldn't get any ice so we could have a cocktail on our balcony. Good breakfast in the morning.

Exceptional”
Hotel is ideally located just a pleasant 15-20 minute walk from Vatican. It's in quiet, residential neighborhood so it's a nice retreat away from the commotion of crowds and touristy sites after a long, tiring day, and you can take a walk along tree-lined sidewalks safely at night or any time during the day. You can open windows for fresh air without loud noisy traffic. Staff (everyone from front desk, housekeeping, breakfast,...) made us feel first-class and were at our complete disposal. No difficulty in translation and communicating in English. When we didn't feel like walking, we requested and they hailed and arranged taxi for us reliably each time. They arranged transportation for us too directly from hotel to FCO airport when it was time to leave. We also needed to print boarding passes and another document and they gladly helped with that too. The rooms were roomier (shower especially) compared to the other comparable price-range hotels we typically experienced in other Italian cities during our vacation in Florence, Venice, and Gaeta. Room also has AC and easily controlled and adjusted with remote. There is an elevator. There are enough dining options (from fancy to simple ones) within 5-10 minute walks of hotel and there's also a small shop nearby to buy other snacks and drinks. Hotel is well maintained, clean, and staff is responsive. It's how people make you feel that has lasting effect and Hotel Gerber made me and my other companions feel more than satisfied during our stay.

Excellent location, only a short walk to Lepanto Metro Station and easily accessible by buses.”
Excellent safe & quiet location, only a short walk to Lepanto Metro Station, which can be easily accessed from the main railway station in Rome, Termini, also easily accessible by buses. The Vatican is only about 15 minutes walk. Staff were lovely and went out of their way to assist. Hotel was clean & comfortable. Buffet breakfast with plenty of cold meats, cheeses, fruit, juices, etc. The lovely rooftop terrace overlooking the city was a great place to unwind with a glass of vino after a long day on the tourist trail with aching feet. Drinks were very cheap, just €10 for a bottle of red wine, which was great to take to the roof top terrace. No lunch or evening meals, but who needs them when there are so many great restaurants to explore in the locality. No pool or gym, but you can do that at home. Left our luggage in the hotel when we went off to explore the Sistine Chapel & there was no charge. Absolutely love this hotel, the owners and staff & will definitely stay there again.

Exceptional”
The staff is really kind (they even printed something for me, for example), they all speak English, and some of them speak Portuguese, maybe even other languages. The breakfast is great (I saw many bad comments on the food in most hotels in Rome), there is a continental breakfast, eggs, butter, cheese, ham, jam, four kinds of fresh fruit, compote, two homemade cakes, muffins, yogurt, croasan, tea (different kinds), coffee, three kinds of juices... The waiter is really nice, he always serves you a coffee or tea. The location is great, in 5 or 10 minutes you can get to Piazza Popolo, Castle San Angelo... It is a quiet neighborhood, you can walk freely in the night alone. But there also bares, restaurants nearby. For me, everything worked out just fine!

Great pick for a Rome hotel”
This was a wonderful place for a Rome trip. Walking distance to the Vatican and literally 100 meters from bus and metro stations. Small, cozy with friendly staff and a decent breakfast. Only downside was that the facilities aren't new and some show there age. Great value for money and I'd definitely stay here again.

Wished we had more than one night at this property. The room was spacious, the bathroom quite large and modern, the location near the Vatican very ideal yet quiet, the breakfast good, and the roof balconies delightful.

Excellent”
Gerber Hotel is a good fifteen minutes walk to the Vatican City. It is in a quiet neighborhood close to some other hotels and a few restaurants and the metro is just at the back of the hotel. The location is convenient. I travelled with my family and the room was spacious for the four of us. However, since it is quite an old building, you can hear the footsteps of the people coming in and out of the next room and we can hear the conversations of the people at the balcony since the balcony we shared with them was just divided by a thin wall. Not an issue though. We did not go there to sit in the balcony. For breakfast, there was not much selection, but there was enough to satisfy our hungry stomachs. We would stay here again.

The Italian way”
Hotel was nice. Everything was small. Bathroom had no shower curtain only half a door. Staff could have a better attitude. None of them that I saw for the 4 nights I stayed were on the same page on rules of the hotel. My last night there when I got back to the hotel, I got questioned on what room I was staying in, why I have the hotel key with me when I was supposed to leave it with the front desk before I left the hotel. As much as I traveled, I have never left my room key with any staff until I checked out of the room. Every night, I came back from touring, no other staff has given this information to me when I walked into the hotel & this rude guy has the nerve to say it's Italy rules to leave the room key. Was gonna recommend this hotel but NOPE, they got a racist staff that I don't care for. (didn't get his name but he works the graveyard shift, has dark spike short haircut, short & skinny) Otherwise, Great neighborhood.
