The closest train station to the hotel is Shijo or Karasuma. It is about a 5min train from Kyoto - on a local train line which is not covered by the Japan Rail Pass. Guests staying at this hotel need to take exit 24 which has an elevator from the train station, this is also the exit located closest to the hotel. It is about a 5-7min walk to the hotel, depending on whether you carry luggage or not. The hotel is located on a small quiet alley road and there are many many Izakaya eateries located only 1-2mins from the hotel. I suggest exploring the many small alley ways between the hotel and train station to discover the fabulous local Izakaya which serve great food. Most of these Izakaya have Japanese menus but a rare few have English menus. The hotel rooms are very spacious compared to many of the hotel hotels we stayed at. There was space for two beds, a decent gap between the beds, a two seater couch a decent sized coffee table and a luggage holder. This hotel charges 200¥ tax per guest for each night. This may put off some people however the amount of free food provided through the day makes this costs well worth paying. Breakfast is not free unless you've paid for it already however the hotel provides free morning, afternoon tea, cakes and wine tasting, yogurt and sample of different honey, and a great supper in the evenings. The onsen is located on the ground floor. It also has 2 washer/dryer machines in the common area next to the onsen baths. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Great location and it is easy to travel to all the tourist sites - Fushimi Inari shire (15min by train), Arashiyama and Monkey park (30 mins by train), Higashiyama and Kiyomizudera (by train or direct bus ; or taxi -1040¥), Nishiki market (500m walk). This hotel has a great location and a great price!

Superb Location ”
Amazed by how efficient and high tech the checkin/out process though hotel looks traditional. Simply love the complimentary ochazuke supper! Also provided are complimentary tea snacks in the afternoons and happy hour wine in the evenings. Hotel is located within walking distance to the Nishiki market. There are also many small eateries around the hotel so it's not a problem at all if you need to look for food. Very clean and new. Rooms are reasonably good size.

Above and beyong”
I knew this was a nice hotel but the service and amenities were above and beyond. You have snacks all time, free wine during happy hour, a beautiful onsen with quality cleansing products. The hotel was super central, minutes away from Nishiki Market (good stop for breakfast) and walkable to Gion. The staff were super friendly. Everything was super clean and everything that was provided was amazing quality. This is now my go-to hotel in Kyoto!

Best Hotel with Excellent Service”
The hotel location is near the attraction of kyoto city. The room itself is big and comfortable, the facilities is a 5 star. they even provide us with lots of free food and drink all day. All the staffs are very friendly and helpful. Really recommend for people to stay in this hotel while in kyoto.

Hotel is just steps away from the local bus and train locations, and walking distance to the shopping districts. It is well surrounded by variety of restarunts. Hotel itself is clean, spacious and with a cafe that provides all kind of complimentary drinks and food around the hour. Recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto.

Outstanding hotel”
Very comfortable hotel, great location, great facilities with a Japanese common bath, laundry facilities. All the amenities of a 4 star hotel. We extended our stay for a few more days. Great value. Breakfast is wonderful, and snacks and drinks are provided complementary throughout the day.

The hotel was perfectly set up for families with small kids”
We booked four nights and had two connecting rooms. It was perfectly set up for our family of four. The hotel provided a baby cot at a small additional fee but it was all set up and ready when we arrived. The hotel was clean and offered snacks and drinks throughout the day. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but used the small coffee shops and cafes near by. A quiet street with easy access to the train station and loads of shops and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and attentive as well. Would stay here again for sure. PS - for parents with kids who love Pokémon - the Pokémon Centre is only a few blocks away. We had no idea when we booked this - but our son was in heaven!

Lovely hotel in a great spot ”
The Intergate was a really nice base for a few days in Kyoto. The room was spacious and well equipped. Check in was easy and the staff were nice throughout the stay. It’s in a great location, an easy walk to Nishiki market and to Gion, with loads of nice restaurants around. Subway and buses are close by. We would definitely stay again.

Excellent Hotel, great location ”
Is a upmarket boutique property with happy hour drinks which we loved, was tricky to find but once we did it was central to all things. Would like to suggest instead of serving yoghurt at happy hour drinks that some savoury items, ie cheese, crackers, nuts etc would be nice!

Fantastic hotel in a great location”
The hotel feels like a relaxing oasis, it's simply beautiful inside and the surrounding area is amazing as well. It is about a 30 min walk away from Nijo castle and well connected via Shijo station nearby. There is plenty of restaurants and shops around. The staff is very helpful and polite I would definitely stay again!

Superb Onsen & Near shopping streets”
It was not exactly near the train station, but it’s not a crowded walking distance sk with luggage it works fine. If a cross junction across to nishiki but no super near as you might have thought. The grand bath in the hotel is the highlight. It’s so clean & comfy! I go there every night to unwind. Also hotel provides snacks etc for guest! Will definitely be back! There’s a lot of small eateries & bars just round the corner!!

It was my second time staying in hotel intergate Kyoto. It is close to train station. Hotel Staff are friendly. Offers very delicious Japanese breakfast. The grand bath is fantastic. A very high C/P hotel. For sure will visit again.

Great hotel. Rooms were spacious. Staffs were very helpful. Free tea, coffee, desserts, and late night snacks were very delightful. Amenities are great. We also loved the grandbath and used it every day.

Some lovely extras in this hotel”
As with most Japanese hotels the rooms are tiny, but the extras at this hotel made the difference. There was a traditional bathing area (hot pool, showers etc) which is a lovely place for travellers to relax and unwind. There were complimentary drinks and food available in the lounge. There are some good food options within 2 or 3 blocks (both Japanese and Dean and Deluca!). If you can handle a 10 minute walk, the main shops and riverfront area are accessible on foot. We also made the easy 15 minute walk from the hotel to the spectacular Nijo-jo historical complex, well worth it. I will return to Kyoto one day and I would happily stay here again.

Relatively Good Location and Refreshments throughout the Day”
Located near to MTR and bus stop. Quiet neighbourhood away from the crowd but just a short distance from the prime tourist area. Was surprised that there were 2 famous shops within a stone throw from the hotel, judging from the local queues - Udon restaurant and a Ramen restaurant. We tried and loved the food. Even though we didn't pay the breakfast, there were free refreshments almost throughout the day (except for breakfast), e.g. smoothies and coffee before 7am, honey and tea were served late afternoon to evening, Free wine and beer for 2 hours in the evening and free night supper.

Modern blend of Kyoto style and service”
The room was large for Japanese standards and had plenty of outlets. There is a public bathhouse for use (along with in-room bathroom) and a lounge where they have drinks and evening snacks. The breakfast is somewhat expensive (2000 yen) but is very delicious and has a wide variety of local vegetables. Coffee is available all day long and they have take out cups for it too. The location is good, and is straight up the road from Nisshiki market (approximately 10-15 minutes walk) with lots of restaurants and bars nearby (you will want to get reservations for the ones very close by).

Extremely Satisfied!”
I visited this hotel when it was newly opened. Their room was spacious, so as the bathroom area. Onsen was available on site. The ground level lounge offers variety of snacks during the day. I really enjoyed the freshly pressed mixed juice in the morning and Ochazuke at night! The staffs were very friendly and helpful. With the help of the receptionist, my boyfriend and I were able to schedule our luggages delivered to the hotel prior to our arrival. I will definitely come back and recommend it to my friends!
