Could this really be a Holiday Inn?”

You won't believe that this is a Holiday Inn as it's better than any other holiday Inn; it's better than most 5 star hotels. Pick-up from airport was done efficiently with check-in there also. Transfer by boat (5 minutes) and car (all of 200 meters) was quick and professionally done. The hotel itself is only a few years old so evrything is new and clean. The capital, Male, was in need of a high class hotel and this is it - very stylish and not your typical hotel decor. For a few nights or business travel it's great but for longer trips its best finding a quiet resort/island to relax at. Price isn't cheap but neither are most places to stay of this quality in Maldives. Rooms are smaller than average however beautifully appointed, clean and very functional - you don't want for anything and seriously as you are in the Maldives, why stay long in your room at all!? The Lime restaurants and Panini Cafe are very decent however the jewel is the rooftop restaurant, Azur Lounge, with the infinity pool and gorgeous outdoor furniture. Coconut Spa is good for a massage and quick pampering but if you want a full-on spa experience go to a resort/island spa. Staff were very friendly, even at 1am and always smiling. Overall a great hotel and a very enjoyable stay.

Great Hotel Hop for Maldives Gateway”

My family and I really enjoy the great experience with Traders Hotel Male especially a special mocktail drink at the rooftop restaurant during full moon night . The hotel is also situated in the center of the city of Male. We can have a quick walk around the city (Male people are very nice). The room is very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff are really kind and friendly. There is a complimentary ferry transfer. The appointment to other Maldives island is well managed.

A very convenient place to live”

we were five ladies traveling to maldives for the first time. reason we took this hotel is that it's very near to the airport (nevertheless we didn't want an airport hotel) and it's the capital city. after quite a long flying we arrived in male nearly 11 in the evening, so we soon fell asleep after checking in but we still managed to have a glance at the seaview which we didnt' expect to have in the capital city. a very comfortable and convenient hotel with good services and people. we would highly recommend it to our friends and relatives.

Very enjoyable stay at Hotel Jen Malé”

Really enjoyed our brief (2 night) stay at Hotel Jen. Hotel is ideally located one block (2 minutes) from the Malé waterfront and close to boat and ferry transfer points. Very clean hotel and staff were friendly and willing to help. Could not fault facilities or room. We were fortunate to have a 12th floor room with uninterrupted views of the water front and the nearby airport on Hulhulé Island. Be mindful that views from rooms on the lower levels may be blocked by buildings opposite.

Convenient to Airport”

This is a new property and is well designed. The rooms are not large but adequate. Restaurants & food quality is very good albeit expensive. The gym is small with a low ceiling making the elliptical machine impossible to use for taller people. There is no weight equipment except for a bench and dumbbells. All of the equipment is new Life Fitness Gear of good quality. So overall the gym is adequate for a light workout but will get crowded fast with more that 4 people in it. Internet is free but slow and the connectivity in the corner rooms at least is poor. In the public areas it is much better. If you are planning to download any large documents, music, or video files forget it. Overall a nice place and the best hotel on Male but like all Maldives hotels, very expensive. If you need a place as a pre-trip staging area or post trip hangout it's 5 minutes from the airport by free hotel speedboat but Male has limited distractions, there is no beach, so if you want to venture forth you will have to take a water taxi to a beach or such. Also be aware that Male is a dry island.

Best Service Ever”

Our stay was unplanned as my husband was unwell and unable to travel. The hotel staff were so kind to us and helped talking to the doctor for us at the hospital (the maldivian health system is not so easy to navigate)and remembered the next day and asked were we ok. Offered us room service etc. When we left the hotel to transfer to an island there was a mix up at the airport and the island we were transferring to had no record of our visit. Ria the hotels transfer staff stayed with us over 90 minutes trying to help work out situation, contacting her manager to help us and giving us updates. This was unexpected though much appreciated. The islands transfer staff were not as helpful. Therefore I would recommend traders to anyone as you get the same high quality shangri- la service expected in a 5 star hotel that you can depend on- the service was not at all stuffy though very genuine. the rooms were of a good standard also. Breakfast was also good with lots of variety.

Short but Sweet”

My friend and I were going to the Maldives for a live-aboard diving trip, but due to scheduling we had to book a flight that arrived the night before our safari started, and so we booked a room at Traders Hotel Male. Everything was great - airport pick-up & drop-off, friendly staff, free Wi-Fi (which worked for my friend but not for me but my it's my phone's issues and not the hotel's), comfortable room, great breakfast, etc. - but the main reason we booked this particular hotel was for the infinity pool, which to our dismay we found the next morning to be under construction. Other than that we had a nice albeit short stay at this hotel (we got in pretty late and then checked out the next day). As mentioned the staff was very friendly and helpful; the room was a bit smaller than expected but it was comfortable and clean; and the bathroom was nice although I would have preferred if the walls weren't see-through (at least there were blinds available to protect our decency). Would definitely recommend if infinity pool was available!

Best hotel on Male”

we stayed at traders hotel on male for 2 nights. it is by far the best hotel on male and the staff are very friendly. we got picked up from the airport and it was a short boat ride to male, from there it is only a 1 minute walk to the hotel. the room is wonderful! has a great big shower and bathroom and the room is lovely and clean. the pool is wonderful (served great drinks!). also the breakfast was great. would stay there again

They spent quite some time arranging our seaplane flight for the following morning and were extremely communicative and helpful. We got in late so had room service for dinner, which was very nice. The breakfast buffet the next morning was also very good with quite a wide variety of foods. The room, while small, was very comfortable and the shower was fantastic. My only complaint was that the room was cold and even changing the thermostat didn't do much. We tried turning off the AC, but it got super humid. But this is a small complaint and I'm sure if I'd contacted the front desk, they would have helped me fix the problem. I highly recommend this hotel!

International style hotel - easy for transfer”

I stay in Male on a regular basis for business and this is the first time I used the Traders Hotel. There is no doubt it is the only International Style Hotel on the island and as such it is way ahead of the others when it comes to comfort and service. Of course it comes at a price. The transfer service to the airport is the best I have experianced on Male - a one minute walk to thier own speedboat - even if you are the only person transfering they take you when you need to go, not when it suits them - all included in the price of the room.

Luxury hotel with highest ranking”

we can classify this as the highest rank hotel in male city. the rooms were perfect and everything addressing the real luxury for the hospitality. for bussinesstravellers i recommend this maximum but tourists wants the joyness with beaches , they have to move out of male city. other than that, everything i would say perfect and amazing.

Great hotel within 5 mins for the airport”

our stay in the hotel was absolutey wonderful. we had our meals in the lime restaurant in the hotel (because it's ramadan outside) and the food was all good! the rooms were chic, clean, and perfect for short stays (the beds were so comfortable that all of us just slept away like babies). and it's right in the middle of the capital where you can just walk around and take a glimpse of the maldivian city life. the infinity pool was incredible (for some reason we had it all to ourselves). it made for a nice relaxed stay on our last night in the maldives. the transportation arrangement made by the hotel was good and efficient. the staffs were helpful, professional and very friendly.

The perfect hotel for both transfer or stay in Male , speed both from airport to jetty No.5 about 2 minutes and a short walk to hotel.If to come early to schedule you may need to walk around the city for a while, but it won't be so long.Breakfast is excellent quality and variety.The room is neat, comfortable, good design so you won't disappoint.On top floor you'll see a small pool with panoramic view.

Traders Hotel Male - City Hotel with a view”

We were met at Male airport and although their own boat was being serviced a member of staff escorted us to a fast public speedboat, loaded our luggage for us and arranged for us to be met at the other end. Check in was prompt and efficient. We were asked if we would like to upgrade as our room was not ready. We agreed to do this and then we were also offered a special price to include breakfast and this cancelled out the extra cost of the room which was on the 12th floor with a fantastic view of the sea. The roof top pool area is beautiful although the double sunbeds means that one person uses a double which leaves a shortage. Also there is a smoking area beside one of the sunbeds and we had to move. The food was good, plenty of choice and well presented. There were plenty of places to go to eat outside the hotel and the waterfront is a 2 minute stroll. We feel very safe on Male and love Traders. We booked a day room for our return as we had to wait from 8.30am until 8pm for our flight. We had a good room (no sea view this time) and the transfer to the airport in their own boat was first class even though the sea was rather rough.

Comfortable, clean & centrally located”

We stayed at Traders on the night of arrival before we set off to the Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru the next day. The hotel is about 5 minutes boat ride from the Male Airport & 3 minutes walk from the jetty. The hotel is very new & well maintained. We enjoyed the breakfast at the Lime. Wide variety of delicious cuisines to choose from. The hotel is also near to a lot of restaurants, sightseeing spots & shopping areas. Highly recommend this hotel for stay at Male.

Great rooms and friendly service”

The Traders hotel is a high quality hotel in Male. When you book ensure that you put your flight number in. The hotel will then arrange a free pick up from the airport, no matter how early or late it arrives. In the foyer there is a great place to have tea or mocktails and watch the people go by. On the top floor a cosy restaurant overlook the pool. Great simple food and good prices - the sushimi was excellent. Free WIFI in all of the hotel is great.

Male Transfer Hotel”

We booked this hotel because it had a pool and we wanted to be able to swim. The breakfast was good for Male. The room was slightly small for the price but very clean. In a great location with a free shuttle transfer to/from the airport in less than 10mins, which is all you really want. . For the price we would probably try somewhere else nearby next time and not worry about the pool. But if your looking for a place with a roof top pool this is one of the best. Ps be aware that Male is a dry island.

Located in center of everything in malé ...walking distance to shops, cafe and harbour..clean hotel , nice room , attentive staffs but a bit expensive since there is not much option for hotel in malé ( quick tips : there are nice cafes near the hotel with 1/3 price from the price of the hotel restaurants)

Nice Hotel - great rooms - pool was fantastic”

My first trip to Male having just transfered from Bandos. This was a great place to base myself for a 2 day stay in Male. Easy to get to all the main visitor points and a great rooftop pool to relax by and watch the sun go down. I had a room only rate and went to one of the local cafe's by Jetty 6 for brunch. Easy to get back to from anywhere on the island and the transfer to the airport was perfect!
