Everything in 5star hotel im a small room! ”

I was completely blown away by Hotel Kai Singapore. The staff were genuine and friendly, the hotel was clean and the room i had was small but impressive with very comfortable bed. Singapore is so busy and bustling that it's nice to be able to step inside such a peaceful and wonderful boutique hotel and get a break from it all, after a long day of exploring singapore! The location is also ideal, bus station and MRT are few walks away from hotel Very closed to great shopping area and more. The main reason I swayed towards Hotel Kai during the booking process was all the positive reviews. I'm not disappointed! A good range, good service and extremely and professional hotel management and staff. I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends and share my "Small is MORE" experience.

Stylish hotel in a trendy area”

While I was skeptical about the comfort level a small room can provide, I was extremely happy with my stay at Kai. As it has recently opened, the boutique property has the benefit of all-new fixtures & fittings and they've utilized space & technology perfectly. My 6sq.m. 'cabin' was the perfect fit for me and my suitcase. The room layout is well thought out and utilizes space functionally. The nicest touch for me was the adjustable bed, making watching the 20 free cable tv channels a comfortable treat. In a city where space is a luxury few can afford, Kai gives great value for money. Breakfast was good, staff were friendly and ever smiling. Decor is modern and stylish, with a swish cafe utilizing lots of shiny expensive equipment but without pretension. Pervis St is a great location from which to explore the city, splitting Little India, Chinatown, Orchard and the Marina perfectly, while at the same time giving easy access to the airport via the MRT. Kai also have free bicycle rental to explore the city as well as free internet. If I return to Singapore alone again, I'd certainly stay at Kai.

Worth it for a hotel in the city of Singapore”

It's a well maintained hotel which deserves more recognition than it probably gets. The rooms are small, very, very small. But comparing it to well known hotels which would've cost at least 3-4times more, Hotel Kai is very conveniently located in Bugis, with mere walking distance to the National Library and Bugis MRT. For it's price, it is definitely worth it. Keep in mind not all the rooms have a bar fridge, so if you need one, request for a room with a bar fridge upon or before check-in. Everything else is pretty well contained in a tiny space, and it serves it's purpose for a city boutique hotel.

Small Is More!!”

I just stay in Kai yesterday from 16-18 September 2014 and I really satisfied with it. Let me give you the detailed pro and cons about the hotel. Cons: 1. Yes the room is very cramped, if you have claustrophobia you better reconsider staying here 2. I stay at the Urban bunk type, and for the person staying in the top bunk, the Air conditioning outlet is directly beside you, so its super freezing eventhough I already use the lowest fan speed and temperature 3. TV channel is not much, not even CNN or ESPN is there in the list. 4. Breakfast is very simple, only cereal, bread, fruit, and some other pastry type. Pros: 1. The lower bunk bed can be adjustable like those bed in hospital. 2. The location is good, surrounded by many mall and food place. 3. The amenities inside the room is complete, they even provide shaving cream and razor. 4. A lot of time the bath gel and shampoo inside a hotel is not well made, no matter how much you applied it will not foamy, Here the quality is good. 5. Got ironing tools inside the room, even a bluetooth speaker too. And here is the two super pros that I like about this hotel, which is first is the free modem they lend to you. Thanks to that I don't need to waste money buying Singapore simcard or use expensive data roaming on my phone. And secondly, the check-in time is 2 PM, we arrived there at 11:45 AM and they let us check-in already!! All the staff is extremely friendly, especially Mr. Sani, the one in the front desk. I will definitely be coming back here again in the future.

great experience”

being a small hotel the service was very personal. the manager saw to it that we had everything we needed. we were there for the food hotel expo it was very convenient for business and leisure. the hotel was in between bugis green line station and city hall red line station. so your in a really nice neighborhood. although the rooms were small it was complete and had nice beds and pillows. our room had a double deck bed but each bed had its own l.e.d. tv. interiors of the hotel was modern design - had its own draft beer bar. we were told that they opened just 2 months ago. there are cheaper hotels nearby, i would not trade it for this hotel. i would be willing to pay additional to stay here again. also, they had a pocket wifi you can borrow -for free- ( but deposit of 150 sing dollars which they will return ) so we were connected to wifi most of the time. they were also very generous with water which was really a big thing to quench your thirst after walking in humid singapore.

A cool compact cabin room! ”

Our stay in Kai was seamless. The location is perfect: we walked from Queen St Bus station and were ale to explore Singapore efficiently as there are endless public transportation possibilities within a few blocks from the hotel. The room is very compact but all you need is there and is very clean. Breakfast was fair (not the Raffles spread) but correct for Singapore and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Loved the system of 'loaning' wi-fi routers so that you can have wi-fi all the time!

Compact Rooms, Clean and Comfortable”

Singapore is expensive for hotels, no two ways about it. Hotel Kai gets around that with rooms that are not much bigger than the bed inside. But, the bed is very comfortable, the rooms are well thought out, the rooms were clean and the service was very good. They did a very good job of reducing the hotel room to what is necessary to be comfortable.

A chic little gem”

We stayed overnight in Kai Hotel for our one day transit in Singapore. It's centrally located near the City Hall MRT with 24 hour convenience stores and food shops around the corner.Excellent service, staff were friendly and helpful.Clean rooms which were small but very comfy and equipped with all the necessary amenities.Would not hesitate to stay there again .

Great stay!”

I stayed in this hotel for a week. The room itself is new, clean, not too big (but enough) and you get free wifi in each room. Very good location, just 5 minutes walk to bugis junction and MRT, 2 mins walk too nearest bus stop. There's minimart, fast food restaurant, cafe, local restaurant nearby. The staff is very friendly and helpful, when I told them that the hot shower in my room wasn't working, they kindly offered to upgrade my room for free. The breakfast was great too! Will make sure to comeback again in the future. Thanks for your hospitality, Hotel Kai.

Compact single cabin”

I stayed here for many reasons. Price was good and also included breakfast. This is a small hotel, so the breakfast buffet is accordingly, so I don't think there is reason to complain about it. There is eggs, cereal, sweets, fruit, yogurt, juices and coffee. What more do you want to start your day? Staff were fantastic, Location close to Bugis Station which makes getting around very easy! Wifi worked well, room is very compact but had all I needed, incl bathroom, tea and coffee and complimentary cookies. Convenient and would certainly stay again.

Excellent Location for Tourist”

Hotel Location is the BEST. At Day Time, That's Local Chain Coffee Shop "Killiney" just right in front of the Hotel, and that's Authentic Thai Food "Jai-Thai", Local Hainanese Chicken Rice "Jing Jing" just few door away from the Hotel. At Evening Time, that's few Karaoke Lounge and Pub located at the same street. Love Reading? National Library just at the end of the Street. Love Shopping? Bugis Junction Mall, Bugis + Mall, Bugis Street Market, just few hundred meter away, Love to visit Local Attraction, like Singapore Flyer, Merlion Park, Marina Bay Sand Hotel and Garden Of The Bay? By walking? No Problem? By Public Transport? 4 different Line Train station surrounded the Hotel, all just few hundred meter away. Love Food? Many Local Food surrounding the Hotel. Love Romance? Singapore MOST signature "Raffles Hotel" just after the street, and it being WELL KNOWN with it Signature Cocktail "Singapore Slings"

A gem in the city”

I booked online on the day itself and stayed a night at Hotel Kai in an urban cabin. Though only 6sqm, it was sufficient for a solo traveller. Bed was unique and very comfortable as it could be wound up at both ends, into sofa seating position or to suit sleeping styles. Very impressed with such a compact room with good use of space. Wide LCD TV on the wall at the end of the bed, A hairdryer, iron & ironing board, a tiny ledge for hanging small items, a flip down table and storage space, phone cables and speaker, with rain shower/basin/toilet section divided by a transparent glass. Good wifi connection in room. Sufficient breakfast with waffles, scrambled eggs, dried fruits, oranges & applies, fruit juices, coffee/tea. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Just a 5-min walk to the Raffles City & City Hall MRT, across the road from the National Library, with many eateries nearby. Would certainly stay again at this unique hotel/bar/bistro.

Small but is enough”

Stayed here for 3 nights as I wanted my own space and toilet at the best price possible without going through the hotel route. I overestimated the size of the room - bed is just right by the door! There was no windows so it's hard to tell time in the morning, but overall, it was a comfortable stay - the shower had good pressure. It's also great location - walking distance to Bugis with shops opening till late so you'll never go hungry. I would recommend staying here for solo travellers.

Perfect Hotel for My Stay”

This is my second review, as I stayed at the hotel 2 weeks earlier while in town. The rooms, while "cozy" had everything I needed including a great bed, in-room bathroom, many amenities. The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was a highlight - very nice, friendly, attentive and efficient. Not sure if I'll be back in Singapore, but if/when I do go back, there is where I'll be staying.

This is the 2nd time i stay in kai, the stay is nice as the room is clean and cosy, kai room may be too small if you are travelling with big luggage and especially if u are fm the west and tall You may have difficulty moving about in the room. Location is perfect as the hotel is 5mins walk to city hall MRT, and it is near to Padang, the place that host Singapore national day parade SG50.

So far So Good, Tiny Room”

So far it is a good experienced with Kai Hotels. Easy access to 4 different line of MRT. Friendly and polite staff. However, compare to other countries with limited space, like Japan or Hong Kong. The room is really too tiny, and room rates is slightly higher. However, it was still a pleasant stay and thank you very to Kai Hotel for the accommodation.

Best experience ever! I was on short business trip and without the kindly, friendly and helpfully of the staffs here I may even don't take enough time to finish my tasks list. The breakfast quite simple but the apple juice was delicious. The room a little small but the decor very comfortable. The staffs never refuse to help with any of my request. Very thankful to Kai to make my trip easirer and more comfortable. Recommend for single/ couple/ group traveler.

Had a weekend staycation (Skyloft room). Super big balcony and amazing nightview! The bed and pillows were super comfy! The staffs were very friendly and nice! Will definitely recommend Hotel Kai to my friends. :)

Hotel Kai cozy stay”

Seated within walking distance between city hall & bugis mrt stations, the venue of hotel is accessible and surrounded with good gourmet outlets. Staff members are warm and friendly. The room is clean and neat, though the space is limited, Hotel Kai optimize the space usage. a nice touch for making bicycles free to loan so that guests can have a ride around this authentic area.

Beautiful, Compact & So Convenient”

Hotel Kai is a tiny boutique hotel that is totally a budget traveler's dream! The location is oh-so-central and the room is compact and comfortable. :-)
