If anyone contemplating choosing this hotel, please dont. Book this hotel, you will never regret! The hotel so clean you have to take off your shoe and you will be given a locker for your shoe! Check in is at 2pm while most hotel in Japan allow only after 3pm or 4pm. Breakfast area is so comfy, carpeted you can watch tv or chill at the area. Bus station is just behind the hotel for you to go to Kamikochi and train station is 5mins away for you to go shinano omachi. Lawson is ard the corner...and staff is friendly and polite. Japanese hospitality at it best. Love this hotel!

Cheap hostel with a public bath”
They have a public bath, tho not so big. Since i'm a huge fan of onsen, i love it so much. Otherwise super clean, and located near main train station. Def worth the money. Otherwise lockers are small, so u cannot store your luggage in there. Just put it in front of you cabin :)

Quite close to many places such as food and the station itself.Has a mall below the hotel which offered many stuff to look at.Additionally the free breakfast buffet was nice and filling, powered me through my tateyama hike.

Everything is super clean. Massive rooms, but as most people are locals they are very quiet. The cabin is very cozy and the toilets and showers were super clean. The lounge is big and with tables and nice seats. If the staff was a little bit more proficient in English will be amazing, but for the most basic transactions, is more than enough. You won't regret staying here if you are looking for a quiet and nice place to recharge some energy.

I personally love the private room so much, it is spacious and bedding is comfy for a good night sleep. Bathroom amenities and hotel facilities are a lot better than similar hotels. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

Hotel M Matsumoto is just opposite the bus terminal and walking distance from the JR station. This is especially great especially guest who is planning to take the first bus to Kamikochi at 5:20am. There is supermarket just at the basement of the bus terminal. There are different cabin and I suggest you take the bigger cabin if you have big luggage.

Hotel is very close to train station. The common area is big and free to use the whole day except for breakfast time. The early check in time is also a plus point for the stay. I will stay here if I visit Matsumoto again.

Single room is not a room”
The hotel/ hostel was a good it..ive and location. The only thing was it was very deceiving to list it as a single room. There is no door but a curtain and therefore not a room. Not sure why you can't put a door on it but it is really a capsule + the issue of some belongings left slightly vulnerable. I understand there is a drawer with lock for smaller valuables

Unable to comment much as I put up a night only. The place cleanliness is thumbs up, location is not far from main station (approximately 5 mins walk), easy to locate (downstairs is Maruzen i.e. stationeries shop).
