Great Value and Professional Staff!”
Hotel Minatoya is great for what you are paying. The location is close to Kochi station, the staff is friendly and professional, and the onsen on the main floor is clean and a nice optional alternative to the more compact shower/bathroom in the rooms. This is my go-to place to stay when I am visiting Kochi.

Best accomodation for the price”
Great location : 5 minute walk from Kochi station Great room : I was upgraded to a spacious double room in off-season. Big t.v., a/c heater, windows open for ventilation, towels, yukata and toothbrushes and shaving all in room. Great amenities : open bath if shower is too small for you, relax lounge and massage chairs. Great staff : Very friendly and helped me when I had trouble using the remote for t.v. Clean and well maintained and I highly recommend the breakfast: choose Japanese or western. It doesn't get any better for the price.

Location excellent. Free bicycle rental. Separate public bath as well. Too bad I could only book Friday night and had to go sunewherr else Saturday night.

STAFF IS VERY KIND!”
We accidentally left our iPad in Hiroshima. The gentleman at the reception desk helped us locate it and arrange for us to pick it up. We tried to tip him to no avail. Overall a great stay that is close to the train station :)

We spent 1 night at this hotel. They provided a large space of car park with charges. It's within walking distance from Kochi station. This was our first stay in Japan which provided a massage chair freely. We loved it very much. The public bath with hot water and sauna was also relaxing

Negatives: - The Japanese room is undersized by European standards. There was barely the space for 2 futons and no place for luggage. A useless table & chair inside the wardrobe (!!!) The bath unit was tiny and no space for personal effects. - Accumulated dust in some places. - The area at night is completely dead. - The staff’s English is limited - No flexibility on breakfast. We asked to change some items we did not like (from the day before) and they would not accommodate us. Considering there are 3 ladies working for the breakfast it’s not so difficult to boil an egg instead of offering it raw. When we chose the western breakfast they wouldn’t let us take extra bread. Positives: - Close to the JR station, so it’s convenient if you plan on taking the train. - Charming traditional communal bath - Free massage beds - Parking available for a small fee - Free bicycle rental - The staff try hard to cope with foreign guests.

Located very close to the station and the city center, with konbini nearby and friendly & helpful staff! Of course it is not the most luxurious or newest in style, but in regard of the price the service is very good! Especially worth mentioning are the great breakfast & the wonderful spa with perfect onsen & sauna!

The staff was very courteous and kind. The room is small and old, but I can endure thinking about the price. The public bath is comfortable too. It is very convenient when the departure of the next day is early because it is also near from the station.

Near JR station. There are a long stairs go up to the hotel lobby so not very convenience if you carry a large luggage. However, you can press the bell to call the staff to help.

Hotel located not very far from train station. Staff are friendly but speak little English. There were some errors in our bookings. Cancellation was done for one couple but hotel was not aware of it . We show the staff the printed notification of cancellation email. But overall, our stay were okay.
