beautiful bed; excellent breakfast”
I got a good deal -- rainy season discount -- for this very nice new hotel in Bahan, in a quiet area near several parks. I was happy to find two good Burmese-style eateries close by; there is also a Thai restaurant across from the hotel— the location is more convenient for food than I expected. Its also a nice area if you want to take a run in the park in the morning, or walk up the hill toward Shwedagon. Of course, it is a bit away from downtown, but taxis are always available. My room (deluxe doublt) was very comfortable, with a big beautiful bed, and a view of greenery. Breakfast was great— tasty and lots of variety! (Only complaint -- coffee machine coffee is mediocre.) I enjoyed the gym —again, with view of the pagoda and park— and the small, pleasant pool on the roof. Staff were all friendly and professional, helpful with taxis, addresses, etc. Nicely done Hotel Shwe Yee!

Excellent Staffs”
The room is clean and spacious and comes with a view of Shwedagon Pagoda. Roof top bar has a great view of sunset and you got to try the Myanmar wine here. There is a Spa and massage is good! I am especially thankful to the reception staff who went the extra mile in getting me a taxi service for me to catch my overnight coach to Bagan. I was unable to get one on Grab as it was peak hour and I may even miss my coach if not for the receptionist who went all the way out to get me a taxi! No words can express how much I’ve appreciated this and will definitely be back to stay at Hotel Shwe Yee if I am coming back to Yangon again!

Exceptional”
I have been visited many countries and stayed many hotels. This "Hotel Shwe Yee" is one of the best hotel I have ever stayed. Kindness, Safety, Convenient (10 min. to Shwedagon Pagida by walk) and reasonable price, If you want to make good memory in Yangon, I strongly recommend this wonderful hotel!!!

A hide-away luxury”
Hotel Shwe Yee is actually located in a compound nearest to Market Place Dhamazedi Road. Opposite the place there is Thai Plus Cuisine which offers a variety of dishes. I was first designated to a corner room on second floor. Then rain dripping through the leak of window frame. When noted to staff, they immediately attended to the issue and instantly requested me to move to other room. It was an impressive

Excellent Hotel - Highly Recommend”
I was so happy with Hotel Shwe Yee. The staff was extraordinarily nice and the hotel itself is great. Quite, large, and clean rooms, great pool and rooftop view of Shwedagon, and great location. Will definitely stay here again.

Excellent choice for Yangon!”
For us this was the perfect place to stay in Yangon. We've stayed in Downtown previously and been quite disappointed. This was slightly out of our usual nightly budget (we're backpackers) but excellent value for money and somewhere we'd stay again. The location is ideal if you want to be near the Shwedagon Pagoda and near enough that you can walk to local shops and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and there is free water available all day. Facilities were decent for Myanmar, with a small gym and rooftop pool (although this was out of service while we were there). The rooftop terrace is a lovely place to have dinner, with an incredible view of the pagoda which is illuminated at night time. But the service at the restaurant is pretty poor! Breakfast is served elsewhere and is a decent spread with different options each day, mainly Asian food with toast, cereal and eggs available too. Although the coffee out of the machine is fairly basic, would have been nice to have fresh coffee ideally. Rooms were very nice with plenty of room and a clean ensuite bathroom with hot water. All in all this hotel was just what we needed from Yangon and would happily stay there again!

Value for Money”
As per previous reviews, this hotel was good value. Staff were very helpful and spoke reasonable English. Pool was very shallow but a great way to cool off after a day's sight seeing. Food in roof top restaurant was good, with a reasonable choice and price. Breakfast was fine, with a mix of Asian and Western cuisine. The room was very clean with good A/C and plenty of hot and cold water. All worked well. I'd stay there again, as first choice of hotel in Yangon.

Nice and tidy”
The hotel is nestled in a quiet resdidential area in about 10 mins walking distance from Shwedagon Pagoda. It is very neat and clean. It's very well maintained. I'd definitely come back to this hotel if I return to Yangon. The waiters in the restaurants need to be better trained. One evening we waited for about half an hour at the rooftop restaurant but there is no one in sight. We then rang the reception and finally a waiter showed up. Waiters at the breakfast weren't looking any better either.

Small and compassionate hotel”
Everything perfect. Really. I was unfortunately sick when in Yangon (acute diverticulitis) and the staff did everything to help me (find the best hospital and even accompanied my wife and I in the ambulance ! Very grateful for that service. Besides that the hotel is close to the spectacular Paya Shwenanga. Good restaurants nearby. Pool was much appreciated by my wife. Thanks to all the staff and mostly Hein Htet Aung !

Perfect! ”
Can't recommend enough. The best hotel I've had in South-East Asia. Spotless clean, amazing staff that practically planned my hole trip in Myanmar for me, great breakfast, nice small pool and gym on the roof and walking distance to Shwedagon. we stayed there on our first day in Myanmar and came back again when we got back to Yangon at the end.

Great room, great staff, great services”
Was very happy with my stay. The room is very nicely decorated, the bathroom is great. View is nice even on the sides not facing the pagoda (low rise neighbourhood). Keep in mind : quite far from downtown but 5 min from Shwedagon. Thai restaurant on the opposite side of the street serves drinks and meals from 10 to 10. Regional Bistro is 4 minutes by foot. One thing to improve : Wifi. 2/2 is barely enough. One thing to get under control : laundry costs which are prohibitive (3x the rates of the closest laundry including delivery) Still, it was one the best stays I had in Yangon

great choice”
everything was just perfect - early check-in, room, view, bed, breakfast, facilities (if you need an iron - ask for it!). well, maybe except for a chicken Tom Yum in their restaurant - it was so-so... but! there is the oldest restaurant in Yangon just behind the corner. quiet, not crowded place. 10 minutes walking to Shwedagon Pagoda. Grab taxi: 6-7K Ks to the airport, 2-3K Ks to Sule.

Almost good but..”
Pro. 1) Location not too far from Shwe Da Gon, however, view claim that good see Pagoda is not expect. During others hotel more beautiful 2) Around Hotel safe, can walk at night and morning, local food and Asean food is easy to find, but hotel not close to main road. 3) Staff friendly, nice, can understand English. 4) Room 3.5 out of 5, not all clean in bathroom. Seeing hair from ex-guest. Cons: 1) For anyone who want to get in Gym, do not expect much. Room so smell and small. Facility only have 1 type/each. It mean, if you need to use running machine and have somebody exercise, you better do something else . 2) Rooftop, many morning not quite clean and staff not clean punctuality. For example, 8 am I still see many table with bottle of beers, cigarette, used tissue, etc on the table which may used by customers from last night.

Clean and value for money”
Located right next to the shwedagon, the room is clean and sufficient, breakfast wasn't anything to shout about (we were spoilt rotten in bagan, kalaw and inle), but nonetheless definitely bang for your buck on this one. A short 10-15 minutes taxi ride takes you to downtown yangon. Try to ask for a higher floor as there's barely any view (but I suppose this might be the norm).

Better than expected”
The staffs have a good of service minds and keen to help a lot of things. The room is very clean and quiet. Breakfast has a variety of menus. The location is very convenient close to delicious restaurant and pagoda. Would like to come back to stay here again next time in yangon.

Inexpensive Price but EXCELLENT Room & Service”
I booked a room with pagoda view but actually didn’t expect much for the view back then because the price was so cheap. However, the view was fantastic especially at night. The room was even better than the pictures. (Bathroom was huge and clean) Breakfast was fine (local food, chinese food, and western food) Staff had service mind and were helpful. Highly recommend for everyone!

Very good”
The good - the Shwedagon pagoda was within walking distance - there were restaurants nearby - there's a swimming pool and gym on the roof top. the pool is super small so it's always empty. - breakfast was really good. best of all the 3 hotels we stayed at in Myanmar - staff spoke English - free wifi in the room although connection was really bad. The worst of all the 3 hotels we stayed in in Myanmar - room was not very big but very clean - toiletries and towels were of good quality - Bed was really comfortable. The best of the 3 hotels we stayed in The bad - internet was painfully slow - toiletries were put in clay bottles. my son accidentally broke 1 and we had to pay 10,200 kyat. - water pressure was rather bad - pool was too small to be of any use. maybe just for dipping. Overall, not a bad hotel to stay in.

Good family run hotel”
I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was tidy and clean. The only setback is there wasn't enough plug for me to charge my many devices. I guess this is a first world problem. Overall, I highly recommend this place to stay in Yangon.
