Stayed for two weeks. The staff was amazing, helpful and friendly! They always made us feel welcomed and were incredibly polite. I felt right at home and recommend for anyone and everyone stay at Hotel Trend Iwakuni! Free coffee/water/green tea in the lobby, inexpensive snacks and beverages right down stairs, and only a five minute walk to the Iwakuni JR train station (about a 30 minute train ride from Miyajima and less than 60 from Hiroshima Station) made it very conveniently located as well. There were plenty of great restaurants, bars and convenience stores also within a five minute walking distance from the front door so the location of the hotel was absolutely perfect. If you take anything from this review, its that after an extensive stay in Iwakuni and going all over the place in search of adventure/sight seeing, there really is no better-located and priced hotel to stay at than Hotel Trend Iwakuni.

I am happy to stay in this hotel during my 3 days vacation to Iwakuni. The staff are excellent, the service and the breakfast. The room size is perfect for a solo traveler, very comfortable bed. I would love to be back to this hotel when I visit Iwakuni.

Pros: Clean. They change linens daily Staff are friendly, nice and very accommodating! Location is very near Iwakuni Station Also near to bus stop going to Kintai Bridge Peaceful 500yen breakfast is superb! Spacious parking lot Free drinks and coffee at the reception area Cons: small room though enough for its price. Will definitely stay here again when i get to visit iwakuni!

Comfy rooms!”
We booked for two people, my friend and I and we got a room with 2 queen beds for a good price. The room was big! The staff had basic English and were very friendly and helpful! They had a map where you can put stickers on where you came from but we forgot about it! Hopefully they can help put the stickers on Malaysia and Tunisia!

Old style hotel ”
The hotel rooms were older than expected and smelly, even I booked a non-smoking room. Staff was nice and everything seemed clean, but didn’t like the two separate blankets, which kept falling down whole night. Bathroom was old-style, but ok.

Pros -Room just what was needed semi double , clean and wonderful microwave- 1,3,7 floor free tea , coffee , juices free bicycles for rental Staff although unable to speak english ...most helpful BIG THANKS to 2 female staff for helping us call the police station and recovering our dropped mobile phone !! Ari-gato, gosaimusta !!!! You ladies ROCK!! buffet 500yen japanese breakfast -vast choice and delicious Cons - not enough electrical points 12min walk from iwakuni station

It's just a couple of blocks from Iwakuni station and it's a great value for the money (about half the price of Green Rich Hotel). I tried to check in at 10:30 and literally no one was on duty. I actually searched the hotel for staff and couldn't find anyone, so I had to check in later in the day. But otherwise, I'd recommend this hotel.

A place where you truly feel welcome”
Staff in this hotel is really, really charming. They do not speak a lot of English but they try and they can answer most of your basic questions. A lot of small details make the place very convenient: free drinks in the lobby (tea, coffee, apple juice); free use of a micro-wave, some tables and chairs. You can buy ramen at the reception. There is a breakfast which seems a real bargain (about 500 or 600 yens per person, buffet) but we did not try it since we already had bought breakfast. The room itself is a bit old-fashioned and the air conditioning is not that great. As for the location, it's a 5 or 10 minutes walk from the train station, but if you want to see the touristic spot, it's 5 kilometers away (but Iwakuni city is to blame for having a train station so far from the touristic area). If you travel in car, there is a parking lot, and the hotel is next to a highway.

Tint tiny bathrooms”
I had a twin room with two fairly good sized beds. You need the second bed because there is no place to put your clothes. There was one stand where you could hang 5 things and that was it. The bathroom was tiny even by Japanese business hotel standards. There was one wifi router in the hallway, but there is a network drop in the room. And if you ask, they will give you a small wifi router to hook up to the drop and you get a very good signal. It's a nice hotel but they need to do something about the storage and size of the bathrooms.

A bit out of the way ... but excellent value.”
Large room for Japan which was very much appreciated. Staff had limited english but were very helpful. Breakfast is basic "Japanese Business Man" but fine. A bit of a walk from the station but easy enough to find and not to far from the heart of town. Definitely would stay here again.
