We have stayed here before and found it up to usual high standard. We had a 3 bedroom suite with breakfast included. Fantastic views across Bangkok from restaurant. Good choice of Thai and Western food available. Eggs of every description, cooked to order, sausages, fried potatoes, grilled tomatoes, beans, toast, croissants, Danish pastries, cereals, and several Thai dishes, that changed daily. Juice, tea, coffee, water etc. attentive staff. Spacious, clean suite on 26th floor. Fridge, cooker etc, plus plenty of complimentary bottled water. Fantastic view across the city. Low season, so we had swimming pool to ourselves. If you want taxi or tuk-tuk, go out of hotel area to main road, and get one there. Don't let the concierge get you one - he is on huge commission. The Prince Palace tries to be a high end hotel, but doesn't quite manage it, but for value for money, you won't go far wrong if you choose this hotel. If you like Indian food, get a Tuk-tuk to police station end of Khao San Road, and look for The Rainbow restaurant - excellent, and if you are a seafood fan, T and K's on Yaowarat Road, Chinatown is a must-try. Tables in the road, but very good, fast seafood. Follow this with a wander through the markets - all down the little lanes - fascinating stuff. I defy you to identify it all. Great place for a few days.

This hotel is new and I am happy to say the staff are very helpful and professional. The rooftop pool is small but immaculate and plenty of lounge chairs. Located close to Khao San Road ,street food and restaurants makes this ideal. We booked a room with a canal view,not spectacular view but much better than most outlooks. Breakfast was good,serve from 6.30 which suited us plus sitting overlooking and watching the canal activities is quite enjoyable. Would definitely stay again. Could not find any fault ,best we have stayed at in 10 years of visiting Bangkok.

We love Khao San road district, so we we always prefer to stay somewhere near, but we are also always looking for a hotel with swimming pool and fitness. Nouvo City hotel has it all. Very nice and big rooms, great and big swimming pool with enough sunbeds, great fitness and the best of all is the location. Five minutes by foot to Khao San. Some very good restaurants just outside the hotel, a huge Seven Eleven. What would you want more. And the price is reasonable. Really very very nice stay and also late check out wasn´t a problem at all. We are definetely coming back.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much when I was booking to stay right on Khao San road. I was only staying for one night so I wanted to be close to the action of bars, markets and good food. I wouldn't recommend this is you were staying for a week or so, the busyness and haggling could get a bit. However, this was perfect for a short stopover for a couple of nights. Walk down stairs and the street is packed from mid afternoon only getting fuller into the night with food stalls, shopping, massages, and bars. I was surprised with the standard of the interior, this is something I'm fairly particular about. The hotel room was huge with a giant four poster king bed in the middle. Everything was very clean and nice. I had read reviews on this hotel being loud, my room was the very last room in the hallway right on Khao San road. I heard the music start at about 3pm. When I returned for bed at 11 I could hear it quite well but once I popped some ear plugs in, I slept like a baby. I would definitely go back to this hotel. I had such a great experience in bangkok due to booking this hotel in this location.

The hotel is very very nice, the staff was friendly ready to help at any moment, would call cabs right away and always had a smile on their face. The room was very large with two comfy double beds with soft pillows and clean sheets. The bathroom was also very clean with a shower and bathtub. A nice quiet hotel in a quieter part of Bangkok away from the crazy scenes like Khao San Road, yet a very cheap can ride only about 30-40 baht. I would recommend this hotel who want to relax, you also get a complimentary drink when you check in (non-alcoholic). No free breakfast though which was a con.

We booked this hotel because we wanted to be relatively close to the tourist attractions and the nightlife of Khao San road, but not too close. It's a lovely modern hotel with some traditional Thai touches. The courtyard is open and you can hear the traffic from the busy road near the swimming pool. We didn't hear any traffic in the room itself however as it was well isolated. We didn't really have a nice view (the next-door alleyway), but we didn't care. We were out all day and most of the night anyways. We liked the breakfast. It is a small hotel so they don't have a huge amount of options but it was more than enough for my husband and me. They have bread, fresh jam, yogurt, cornflakes, different kinds of fruit, small sandwiches, and several hot dishes that change daily. They have tea, coffee and juice and you can also order a fried egg, scrambled egg or omelette with different toppings.

This is a lovely & nice hotel just right on the Khao San Road. The room size wasn’t that we expected. The rooms were comfortable, clean room & smiling receptionist. Swimming pool is a little bit small then it appears on pictures but really good maintained. Rooftop view is also nice. The best thing is 7/11 is just with your hotel and Magdonall’s & KFC is very near to you. The Street Thai Food & fruits are very cheap always find around you. The only downside is to pay for Internet other than that I would recommend this hotel. If you are young and stay out very late, this hotel is one of the best available in Khao San.

Pros: Location to Khao San Road (if you're into that sort of thing) insanity for shock value. Comfortable bed. Large room. Affordability (more flashpacker vs. backpacker, for sure). Air condiditioner unit in room* Rooftop pool & bar Cons: *Our AC room unit malfunctioned after a few hours of checking in, so we were moved next door. A bit annoying, as my partner was sleeping, but all in all it took roughly 15 minutes and we even noticed a repairman looking at the unit on our way back down below. The rooftop pool and view is gorgeous, but I wish someone would keep an eye on splashing children (obnoxiously splashing and thrashing around!) and couples getting frisky. That was a bit much, even for Thailand. The rooftop bar was out of the two juices I wanted to order, no big deal. All in all, would stay here again if I wanted to stay ON Khao San Road, but it's Soi Rambuttri for me if I do want to stay in that area again. Make sure to request a 'quiet room' if you want something resembling it -- this is to avoid the noise from the bar upstairs and the mania on the street below.

found the rooms in agoda, and apparently the hotel was newly built. had a hard time to get there from central bangkok, as most tuk-tuk drivers didnt seem to know it. however, it turned out to be really near khao san road. the area is quiet and peaceful, unlike in khao san. the room itself was great - clean, spacious and the warehouse concept was pretty cool. there was even a small balcony, nothing much but enough for fresh air. had a comfortable sleep there and the staff were very friendly. wifi signal kept dropping, however.

We had a short stopover in Bangkok and stayed at Chillax. On arrival we were given an upgraded room at no extra cost. The staff were knowledgeable about transport issues, helpful, friendly but not over the top. The pool was clean with a lovely view. Chillax is about 10 minutes walk from the Khao San road area and there are plenty of lovely little dining places around the neighbourhood without the hustle, bustle and noise of Khao San Road.

Amazing butique hotel at a great location (short walk to Khao San Road). Fast check-in with welcome drink, amazing kind and helpful staff. We had deluxe room, it was good size, smelled so nice! Excellent bed. Only downside was the air con was directed at bed so we couldnt use it when sleeping and it was way too hot to sleep, had a miserable night and ended moving the bed and chairs. Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired.. Could be better for such a nice hotel. Coffee was really bad too. But the pool, the ambiance, the staff makes it all worth. Will be coming back! RIkka Inn was the perfect place to stay! If you are interested in being near all the action of Khao San Road- this is it! However, this place was surprisingly very quiet- The hotel was right in the middle of Khao San Road but kind of set back in a way and it seemed as though most rooms were away from the street noises. I stayed there 2 nights at the beginning of my trip and one night at the very end of the trip and was glad i did. Great reception- we were to arrive at 11pm but didnt arrive till 4am due to flight delay- this wasn't a problem- our room was basic, but extremely clean and had a unique feeling (interesting decor)- comfortable beds- Most showers in Thailand were like the ones at Rikka Inn- a shower that is in the bathroom directly over the toilet- so you pretty much get the entire bathroom wet -dont forget to remove the toilet paper! Kind of annoying but we found this standard unless you are at a fancy hotel/resort where there are more western style showers- But good water pressure/hot water- excellent rooftop pool/showers/bathroom- We used on our last day and they held our bags for us for the day (20 baht/day) since we had a late departure out of Bangkok- Just outside of reception is a adorable coffee shop- some of the best i had in Bangkok- and delicious breakfast sandwiches/fruit- 7-11 also right there for any other needs as well- If you are looking to stay on Khao San Road this is absolutely the place!!! 100% recommended

Staff were very helpful & friendly and would write directions in Thai so we could get taxis around the city. The rooms were clean and air conditioned, they even had a safe, working fridge & hairdryer! The location was 20 minutes walking from Khao San Road & a reasonable taxi fare from Wat Arun & Wat Pho. Breakfast was the best we had in Thailand and very traditional with different options each day. We’d highly recommend as it’s an excellent place to stay and fantastic value.

Our stay at the New Siam Palace View was our second place we booked in Thailand. I'll will write all the details and our experience as best as possible. At arriving at the New Siam Palace View, we check-in at midday for our 3 night stay. The staff was very nice, friendly and very helpful. They ask for our passport to get a copy and 500 baht, a refundable amount. Just a security deposit in case the person breaks something or something is missing from the room. They gave us our passports back, the key to our room, a few vouchers for fruit shakes and two vouchers with the Wi-Fi information. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Never had a problem with it. We then went to our room and it was small, comfortable and the A/C took a few minutes to cool the room but after that it was very nice. The view from our balcony was, well, old buildings. No river view and the balcony was very small. We didn't care about that. The bathroom was basic but with everything we needed. It had a closet with a safe, tv, a small desk with mirror and a fridge with cold water bottles. After eating so much Thai food we decided to give a try to their breakfast and it did not disappoint at all. It was very good and their fruit shakes are good also. You can get a good breakfast at the lobby for 100 or 200 baht. For us, the location was excellent because it was very close the Khao San Road but really quiet. It was peaceful at night. You couldn't hear any noise from Khao San Road at all. So if you want a place to get a good night sleep but be near all the action this is the place. There is a shortcut to get to the Khao San Road from the hotel and while you are at it you will walk through local markets, stores and restaurants. The other reason we like this location was because it's close to all the temples, landmarks and touristic spots that are nearby so that's a big plus for us. The hotel is really well made, with great eye for detail. It just looks beautiful. The superior room was perfect, specious, with great ac. The staff was really kind, and helpful. The rooftop garden and pool is amazing, we loved drinking our morning coffee there. It closes at 7pm which is a shame, because the views at night are breathtaking up there. (one night they forget to lock it, so we took advantage). You can leave your baggage at the reception, which is really helpful if your transfer leaves after checkout time. All the main attractions are close or easily reachable with public transport or taxis. It's near to Khao San Road but its quiet, Highly recommend it.

I found my stay here to be quite comfortable and a great value. While the hotel is older, it is still well kept and clean. My room was cleaned each day, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel De Moc is located quite close to Khao San Road, as well. Some may consider it a far walk (maybe 20 mins?), but I didn't mind as I enjoy going for strolls in new places. For those who do not wish to make the trek, there is a tuk-tuk service at the hotel that will take you to Khao San. It is also quite easy to catch a taxi out front. We stayed for 3 days at the beginning of our time in Thailand and found it to be a wonderful hotel for the money. Definitely a great value and would return. I will also recommend this place to friends that wish to visit the city.

The staff here were wonderful. They answered all our questions and helped us with everything we needed. They even had a tuk tuk shuttle that would drop you off at Khao San Road or the Grand Palace. There were snacks, coffee/tea in the lobby area, which were delicious! Tara Place isn't very far from the major attractions. The staff can flag down a tuk tuk for you and it won't cost you too much to get around. If you want, Khao San Road is just down the street, no more than a 15min walk. But the area around Tara Place is pretty nice too. In the evening the street vendors come out and all the restaurants are filled with people. The hotel is behind a building/plaza, which means you don't hear the loud traffic on the main street. There were 3 of us, so we needed to add an extra bed in the room. This minimized the amount of floor space we had. So it was slightly cramped for 3 girls but otherwise the room was very nice. Even the mattress on the floor was comfortable. Overall: This place is good for those looking for a quiet place to stay, for small groups, and for families.

We've stayed here twice now - our arrival into Thailand and one night for our departure from Thailand and I have to say the first stay was a lot better than the last. When we first arrived to Bangkok we had drinks every night, went out and ventured down khao san, etc, and we loved out stay here. During our second stay for one night we were leaving early the next morning so we tried to get some sleep, but trying to sleep while sober was near impossible. The music from outside can be heard til 2AM, and for some reason there are always other hotel guests in the hallways doing who knows what ALL night! It made me feel a little unsafe as well because why are other hotel guests in the hallways at all hours of the night making so much noise?! That's part of what you get when you stay close to khao San road... The rooms are on the small side but we enjoyed them. The aircon and the TV work great, the wifi works good in the rooms (but it is not free). The location is perfect if that is what you're looking for as i would much rather be on Rambuttri than directly on Khao San. The pool is a nice touch but does not look clean. Our first stay the staff were great, during our second one night stay they were not that pleasant. It's a great place to be near all the action, it's great value, and it did the job for our one night stay, but I would not recommend this place if you looking for a place to get lots of rest for a couple of nights - another hotel or probably even area would do you better.

I hate to give a positive review because more people will stay here. Best mattresses I've found on Khao San road. The secret is out. The pool is nice. Breakfast is across the street at Dang Derm. make sure you get your tickets at the front desk in the morning . Ask for wifi password before you leave the front desk or you'll be back down in the lobby. Stand in the right line when checking in else you'll be trying to check into D&D inn. Don't act like arrogant Eurotrash when you're checking in. we know you've had a long flight, your mosquito bites are itchy and your butt is sore. Realize these employees have to deal with 100s of people everyday. Being pleasant will get you much further than not. Don't deal with the Indian tailor right outside the door. His name is David and he is a thief and his clothes are inferior.

We have been pleasantly surprised by the Trang Hotel. The staff is nice, including the cleaning ladies. They always smile. We booked the superior room, but have been upgraded to premium superior. The price through Agoda is very good value for money. A big and deep swimming, with barely anyone inside. We swam many times alone. The breakfast is included, there are asian food (rice and noodles) and continental food (bread, jam, butter, ham, sausage, eggs), there are also orange juice (not that great) and tea and coffee. It is not super good food, but correct enough to give you a boost at the start of the day. The premium superior rooms have balcony with view on the garden, so quiet during the night. We can hear the people having breakfast in the morning, but not annoying. The other rooms have view i believe outside, but not sure. Flat TV screen with USB plug, if you fancy a film. Nice bathroom with hot shower. Plenty of storage. I haven't seen the standard nor the superior rooms, but i would recommend the premiums. We feel at home ! The wifi works well too, and you can even work on your laptop near the swimming pool The Khao San road (tourists road) is 10 min walk, and there are buses which goes straight to Hualamphong train station. Shame there is no BTS or MRT station nearby, but if you are 2 or more, it is worth to take the taxi cost wise anyway. So glad with this hotel that we will come back next week but this time with my parents-in-law and I will update their opinion on Agoda

me and my friend stayed in sakul house in bangkok. at first it was a bit hard to find the hotel because taxi driver didnt drive up to the front but just dropped us somewhere nearby.so make sure you have a plan of the location printed out. the hotel is in a very busy area just next to khao san road. there are shops, massage and places to eat nearby. makes it very convenient. our room was not on the street side-could be a bit noisy there. room was modern, nice and clean. we had wifi in our room.from the hotel you can walk to grand palace in about 15 minutes. no need to take any transport. we were happy with our stay!

Pros: Free water and instant coffee bar, excellent location with an upbeat atmosphere (may be to loud or crowded for some, but we enjoyed) with quick access to Khao San road, helpful receptionist, we could request a non-smoking room, and extremely affordable. Cons: watch for ants, we requested a quiet room and it ended up having a window that was about a foot away from another building —no sublight/view, and 2 single beds pushed together to make a double. Note** Although we asked for a quiet room and it didn’t have a view or sunlight, it was indeed quiet! This was important to us as the music outside plays well into the early morning hours.

The property was clean, if you want your room cleaned you need to let them know but it is no problem for them to do this. The rooms were clean upon arrival, the showers were hot with good water pressure. Air conditioner worked well, very well! Lots of space in the room. The pool was a great bonus for a cool dip after a hot afternoon of wandering. Restaurant was meh, lots of choices very close though. Location was awesome, backs on to Soi Rambuttri which is right by Khao San Road. Across the street from a river boat stop so access to all modes of transportation since the river boat connects with the skytrain. We initially booked for two days and ended up staying five.

I'd say this place exceeded my expectations, I've stayed in some boutique hotels which, while having great decor and facilities, still feel like a "hotel". But the atmosphere and staff at Bangkok Publishing Residence give you a very cozy and intimate feeling, while the overall decor and amenities feel luxurious but not pretentious. I especially love the rooftop garden where they grow the most delicious salad I've had in years! I'll surely comeback the next time I'm in Bangkok!

The hotel is in a good position. Very close to main attraction and Khao San road but far from caos and noise. I really appreciated the size of the room, which was pretty large and very clean, bed is a bit hard but comfortable. Also linens are very good quality. We didn’t had breakfast but plenty of choice outside for food along the street any time of the day! We really enjoyed staying there. I would recommend it.

We were more than happy with our stay at khaosan art hotel. Having been to this area before I knew location was important. We couldn’t have picked a better spot for exploring the main attractions in the area: khao san road, the grand palace etc. The hotel was in a quiet side street but close to the action. We felt very safe and welcomed in the hotel by all staff members. It was an added bonus that we were able to check in early (we were delighted after an 11 hour flight from London). But they also have a safe area to leave luggage with cctv and 24 hour reception desk. Inclusive breakfast also very tasty and general good service in the restaurant. Overall happy with our stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a good value, safe, friendly hotel in a quieter location but near enough to khaosan road and other attractions.
