First of all, this hotel is very luxury at a budget price. Most budget hotels in Thailand have outdated furnishings and wall hangings, but every inch of this hotel is clean, well-maintained, very luxury looking. The staff is outstanding and there is a doorman or other staff about every 20 meters of the hotel. Check-in and check-out was fast, and we even got fast servi...First of all, this hotel is very luxury at a budget price. I mention this because I read many horror story reviews on here before we booked the place. I only saw crowds in the reception area when a bus came in (which there were many - its one of the biggest hotels in Bangkok). The breakfast was outstanding. You can eat in the cafe, which has outdoor dining, or the upstairs restaurant. Both have the same food, so it depends if want a city view with your breakfast, or some fresh morning air. The Thai restaurant at the top of the hotel wasn't very impressive. The food was bland and overpriced. We live in Northeast Thailand, so maybe we are spoiled. The best part of the hotel was the room. We stayed in a 3-bedroom suite, which was a mini-apartment. It actually looks like the hotel bought a condo building next door and turned the condos into rooms. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean and new, and there was lots of space. We actually only needed 2-bedrooms, but the upgrade price was so cheap we went with 3-bedrooms. The suites have their own lobby, elevators, and secured parking. If you want to go shopping, which was the primary reason we stayed at this hotel (the kids needed clothes for school), there is a 6-floor fashion mall below the hotel. Its the place to get good, low priced clothes (6th floor has a food court). If you want to save even more money, get up at 3am and walk outside. From 3-6am, the streets around the hotel hold the largest clothes wholesale market in SE Asia. Hundreds of sellers line the streets selling every kind of clothes you can think of. We saved 70% on school clothes this year.

Nestled between small shops and jewelry stores is the postcard perfect Casa Vayama. Entering the lobby I was immediately impressed that the actual hotel surpassed the images on the website. Pay for the upper floor rooms with a rivier view and you might just want to stay in your room the entire stay. The king sized bed and linens and pillows were a real treat. Best air con I. Bangkok, and everyone knows what an advantage that is, Breakfast was scrumptious and the Thai food, especially the green curry, was as fine as any resterraunt could offer. Great food all around and some of the coolest food/bar venues I’ve ever seen. Missing my Casa Vayama and can’t wait to return.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and were very happy with our choice. It is located very close to Khaosan Road (5 min walk) in a side street, so there's not a lot of traffic noise and there's even some street food and a lovely cafe right across the street, where you can even choose to spend an evening playing cards and watching children play in the street. The streets around Khaosan Road are also OK for going out, if you don't mind the traveller scene. If you want to do a lot of shopping or going out around Sukhumvit Road, you would be happier with a hotel nearer to Siam Square, because from this part of town the taxi takes an hour to get there. But it's very close to the pier (5 min walk) and you can take the Chao Praya River Express to the temples and the Palace (be careful to get off really quickly or you will miss your stop!). The hotel provides very good service throughout, a reasonable breakfast buffet and a very nice and helpful team of tour guides to organize trips in or around the city. The rooms are tastefully decorated and clean, the beds are reasonably comfortable for Thai beds (which are always on the hard side). So overall I must say we were very happy with our choice and we can recommend it without reservations.

If you would like to be in the heart of a city and surrounded by lots of street food vendors during the day and enjoy the crazy fun nightlife then this is your place to stay. It could be really loud outside around the hotel from all the pubs and bars on the street but we didn't hear anything that would keep us up at night. We traveled to Bangkok and would like to stay close enough to tourist spot like the grand palace and The emerald Buddha temple and such so I chose to stay here. It is close enough to take a walk to those places or even the muay Thai Stadium. My husband enjoyed swimming in their pool and the whole family enjoyed Free Breakfast that came with the booking . The Breakfast buffet line has various options for different cultures. My family really enjoyed the Fresh Noodle station and all the staff were really nice and accommodate. Overall, we really enjoyed staying here and would be back again.

A great place to stay which is central to many tourist sites close by. Initial perception of the hotel on arrival was "wow". The reception area is vast, beautifully decorated and the staff were extremely pleasant and professional. The hotel also produces its own biscuits which were delicious. The lobby bar staff were brilliant and the lady on the piano very good. There was a wedding on also whilst0 we were here and the staff seemed to go out of their way to ensure it all went well - the staff were always smiling and courteous. We stayed here for 4 days and shall be returning again in December to spend a few more days before flying back to the UK.

The ones on the street side are larger but can be noisy. The rooms in the "new" building-it's probably about 10 years old now-lack the charm of the older part of the hotel. Yes I know the front desk staff can be a bit surly and they charge a key deposit and they won't give out more than one key per room, but there's a reason for all that. Many of the westerners who stay here behave as though they are entitled to I don't know what but I have seen some quite bad behavior over the years. Many are rather rude and demanding. They steal items from the hotel, they are often unkempt and dressed in ways the Thais find disrespectful or even offensive (especially the females). It doesn't take very long for the reception desk personnel to become jaded and defensive when dealing with Farangs like these. Despite all of that, if you can take the Thai approach to life (mai pen rai) and remember that you are staying in a very historic grand old palace of a hotel, that you could not have found a better location for sight-seeing, great food and access to transportation and that some of the best local Thai food is served right here in the restaurant ("this is real Thai taste" my husband always says)-not to mention live entertainment most nights-a great pool that is always crystal clear, a very nice breakfast buffet! I love this place.

we took a taxi directly from the airport but our driver got a lost only about 1/2 a mile from the Warehouse, so we decided to walk the remaining 5 blocks (we don't speak thai well-enough and the driver couldn't read our iphone google map). upon exiting the car, the driver got a warehouse employee on the phone who told us to stay put on the corner so he could come pick ...we took a taxi directly from the airport but our driver got a lost only about 1/2 a mile from the Warehouse, so we decided to walk the remaining 5 blocks (we don't speak thai well-enough and the driver couldn't read our iphone google map). upon exiting the car, the driver got a warehouse employee on the phone who told us to stay put on the corner so he could come pick us up. there was some miscommunication btwn the driver and the warehouse employee so ten minutes later when he hadn't shown up, we just ended up walking (it was an 8 min walk from where we were.) upon arriving, the Warehouse upgraded our room for free for the mishap! the upgrade included breakfast each morning (sweet), a balcony, & a tv and fridge. the hotel is quite modern and hip, lots of cement, silver piping, grey paint, industrial-ish elevator and layout (kind of like a jail), roof access, stone flooring, open air cafe in the lobby (food was decent but there are a lot of great drink options.) the neighborhood is "local", very few tourists. there's a cafe across the street that seems to often play thai boxing and have a small crowd cheering on (can get noisy if you require peace and quiet), 7-11 on the main corner, and lots of amazing street food (the noodle soup place in front of 7-11 is superb). the street can get a little loud in the AM with car/tuk-tuk traffic. dropped laundry off at 9pm and it was ready by 5pm the next day. we were able to walk everywhere (kaosan road is quite close), there's a post office and ATM within 2-3 blocks. also very close to a handful of temples. the Warehouse will arrange taxi's when you need one, and tuk-tuk's are easy to flag down out front. the staff is smiley and helpful; they all speak english very well. we had a very nice stay, highly recommended!

Check in: we arrived at quite a. Yay time and had to wait almost 30minutes to check in which you really do t need after a 15 hour flight. We where greeted with warm towels and cold Thai tea while we waited which was a nice touch. Room: we paid for a superior room which was lovely, the key you are given activates the lights and aircon, thus meaning the Aircon had not been on the room was around 30*c when we entered. Just like opening an oven door. Mini bar is quite expensive. Water is provided which is a great touch considering the humidity outside. Milk or creamer is not provided so we had to go and buy milk so we could have a cup of tea in the morning. Room service: ordered this on our second night after a full day of exploring, couldn't face going out. All I can say is amazing!! Ordered and arrived very quick, very reasonably priced for room service. Breakfast: our booking included breakfast, this is served between 6:30-10 in the main restaurant, good variety of food served from bacon and eggs to Thai curries etc. Wide selection of fruit. Only down side is that you don't get served anything, 3 members of staff stood behind bar but you have to do up and get your own coffee milk etc, I know you serve yourself at buffet for food but never stayed in hotel where you get your own coffee!! Coffee was very rarely ready and I feel it's not only me but coffee is the most important thing in the morning. Should I return to Bangkok I would stay at this hotel again.

Then they asked my wife if her name was Jennifer (it's not). Later had my wife asking "Who's Jennifer?" The water was never hot, just warm. When I asked the cleaning lady to give my wife and me 2 minutes, she said okay and just never cleaned the room. The sound on the TV didn't work for 2 days, after the first day a maintenance man was sent to check it but I have no idea what came of that because when we returned that day it still wasn't working. All and all, we loved our stay.

This was my first stay at the SSIP Boutique Hotel and apart from some very minor issues this is a superb hotel to stay at. The staff get 10/10 and could not have been more friendly or helpful over the years ive stayed at a lot of hotel and this has to be one of the best for staff Location is excellent a 10 minute walk from the river ferry allowing you to travel easily...This was my first stay at the SSIP Boutique Hotel and apart from some very minor issues this is a superb hotel to stay at. I found the Taxis to be very reasonable indeed however i only metered ones. I found my room to be fairly large and well presented in a Thai style clean daily and overall excellent however there are no tea of coffee making facilities in the room but this is offer down stair free 24 hours a day so i did not see this as a issue. There was a safe despot box in room as well as a fridge and two bottle of water was offered also as complimentary. There are a fair number of good places to eat near to the hotel. i found only 2 very minor issues at this hotel

I don't even know where to begin the hotel and staff are just amazing. Room: We got in an hour and a bit before check in and were able to get into our room right away. It was big and spacious for the deluxe. The room came with slippers, tooth brushes, instant coffee and water. Main lobby - They have a few patio tables outside of the reception area on the main floor. Inside they have cool water and essential oils to relax you instantly. Attached - They own the next door massage shop and coffee shop. They have a 10% discount for a one hour thai message. The coffee shop (Coffee First) has a 20% discount. This info is provided right outside the elevator on the main floor. Both places are great for both the staff and what you pay for. Staff - You are all fantastic. Always smiling and always so polite and helpful. We thank you so much in making our stay with you better than any other. One day we hope to be back!

I arrived at Subha international exhausted at 6am after a 12 hr journey from London with no Thai money. A friendly guard in the airport directed me to the free hourly shuttle bus to Don Muang international airpo...If you are overnighting in Bangkok & don't need to go sightseeing but want peace, relaxation, food & a really nice spacious room with aircon, this hotel rocks! I arrived at Subha international exhausted at 6am after a 12 hr journey from London with no Thai money. A friendly guard in the airport directed me to the free hourly shuttle bus to Don Muang international airport. The journey took about an hour & once at Don Muang, there is a dedicated lift in the terminal taking you to the covered airway crossing the highway straight into the Amari hotel. This hotel is an absolute bargain at the price if purchasing in European money. Huge, peaceful rooms, very nicely furnished (european 4 star) lovely bathrooms & an onsite restaurant serving a mix of cuisines & a good fun sports bar type pub on site also open late. The pool & pool area is lovely & overall this place was just ideal for my needs. About 5pm after a few hours sleep I had relaxing swim, beer in the bar & then took the hotel's free shuttle bus to the local night market - nothing at all you'd want to buy there but fascinating none the less - & the market is next to a mall which is packed with good, inexpensive Thai, Korean, Japanese restaurants. the shuttle bus picks you up at a pre arranged time. Will return.

I hate to give a positive review because more people will stay here. Best mattresses I've found on Khao San road. The secret is out. The pool is nice. Don't act like arrogant Eurotrash when you're checking in. we know you've had a long flight, your mosquito bites are itchy and your butt is sore. Realize these employees have to deal with 100s of people everyday. Being pleasant will get you much further than not. Don't deal with the Indian tailor right outside the door. His name is David and he is a thief and his clothes are inferior.

Really enjoyed our stay at Trang. Having never been to SEA before I was somewhat dubious about paying in effect so little for a hotel, but as soon as we arrived my mind was put to rest with welcoming staff and a great room. Modern, clean and spacious - couldn't really understand why the bathroom sink was in the bedroom but hey, why not! It's nice to have the option ...Really enjoyed our stay at Trang. Good wifi access throughout the hotel, in our room etc. It didn't work when we arrived and I was told to 'try again tomorrow' so I thought here we go! However true to their word when we woke up it was on and had no more issues during our stay. It's a bit of a strange area (quite a few of the local businesses around and about are industrial, garages, tyres shops etc) not lots of other hotels/bars/shops in the immediate vacinity but you don't need to go too far before coming across some. I would say its about 20 minutes walk from Khao San Road with many other sights easily accessible via foot also. We went to Thai boxing one night which was great fun and the stadium is just around the corner (5-10 min?) Breakfast at the hotel was ok, a good selection of 'local' food together with freshly fried eggs, frankfurter type sausages, ham and toast! To be honest, the food you can get locally is so cheap (and wonderful!) we gave breakfast a miss after our first day. I think the biggest pain was the hotel is not exactly close to the public transport rail link, but it would seem no where in 'central Bangkok' is. Taxis and tuk tuks are readily available just don't pay too much! We instinctly thought the tuk tuks would be cheaper but it turned out the metered taxis were a better bet. We paid THB500 in our first trip from Phaya Thai not knowing better but really you shouldn't need to pay any more than THB100 to get to Trang. Would definitely stay again!

We loved Sakul House! The staff were very kind, the location was excellent (right next to Khao San and about a 15-minute walk to the Grand Palace), and the rooms were comfortable and clean with free wifi! The restaurant next door was where we ate breakfast every morning. They were great--let us sit at their tables and just order drinks while we ate our pad tha...We loved Sakul House! The only thing we were dismayed about was the travel agent connected with the hotel--Dave--who may have mislead us? We booked overnight train tickets to Chiang Mai with him, and he seemed really nice! But we found out later that due to flooding, the trains were no longer running all the way (they were stopping in Lampang, after which people had to take a 2-hour bus ride)... Apparently this had been the case for 2 days. Since we booked the tickets one day, picked them up the next day, and left for the train station the following day (seeing Dave all three days), it seemed curious that he hadn't informed us of this. But maybe he just didn't know? Otherwise, wonderful stay at Sakul! Just make sure to get the address written in Thai to show taxi drivers... It's new, so no one knows where it is!

Last min change plan and booked this hotel last min but still the price affordable. Just love the location near to everything (khaosan road). Big room with 1 single bed & 1 double bed, almost everything i needed inside the room (hair dryer, mini fridge, safety box, coffee maker) and everything in good condition. I'd say this place exceeded my expectations, I've stayed in some boutique hotels which, while having great decor and facilities, still feel like a "hotel". But the atmosphere and staff at Bangkok Publishing Residence give you a very cozy and intimate feeling, while the overall decor and amenities feel luxurious but not pretentious. I especially love the rooftop gar...I'd say this place exceeded my expectations, I've stayed in some boutique hotels which, while having great decor and facilities, still feel like a "hotel". But the atmosphere and staff at Bangkok Publishing Residence give you a very cozy and intimate feeling, while the overall decor and amenities feel luxurious but not pretentious. I especially love the rooftop garden where they grow the most delicious salad I've had in years! I'll surely comeback the next time I'm in Bangkok!

We can find street food nearby by walkng 5min, grand pal...totally clean..friendly & helpfull staffs(all of them that i met). a little problem when i arrive at 11 PM and they can't find my booking number..still wondering how could my booking not listed. luckily i saw my name on their booking file (in a clear holder)! but anyway, staff on duty was really really helpful. We can find street food nearby by walkng 5min, grand palace & watpho can be reached just about 10min by taxi or tuktuk. location is quite easy to find. Golden mount temple just 15min walking (and it is a beautiful temple!) the only thing i can complain from this hotel is no slippers at room. overall, it was a really nice stay and worth it!

The next best restaurant is called PhukeTurk. Cheap and tasty. The night receptionist is really friendly and welcoming. The rooms perfectly clean and have all the amenities for long stay....
