The Dorsett is one of the best hotels I've stayed in. Not only is it in a fantastic location, the staff are extremely attentive and helpful as well, and everything down to the room and bathroom sizes and amenities are excellent by Singapore standards. The hotel is at one end of Chinatown and almost on top of the Outram Park MRT stations, which also happens to be a direct line to the airport. In fact one of the MRT exits are in the building adjacent to the hotel. Places of interest for shopping, entertainment and eating out such as Chinatown, Sentosa, Clarke Quay and Little India are either within walking distance or 2-3 stops away by MRT. Our room was also quite spacious and the bathroom was clean and even had a rainfall shower. The hotel also replenished toiletries every day, and the toiletries were of very good quality. There was free wi-fi inside the room, a coffee maker, work desk and a large LCD TV along with numerous international power sockets. However, our best experience was the service - check-in was a breeze and the lady behind the counter even gave us complimentary early check in without our having to ask. (Usual check-in time is 2 pm but we had reached at 12 noon). She also chatted with us and made us feel at home. We faced an issue when the bathroom light switch suddenly stopped working, but it was fixed within 5 minutes of our informing housekeeping. I have been to many hotels worldwide, but I will always remember my stay in Dorsett as they did not take their amazing location for granted but also added to it with excellent facilities and service with a smile.

I know this hotel is not people first choice when choosing hotels in Singapore. I am a Singaporean and if any of my oversea guests visiting Singapore, I always book Furama for them. It may look old in external but the room is clean and well maintained. The price is reasonable as Singapore hotel is expensive in general. The room size is acceptable and the food is alright as well. It is near MRT station, with North East Line and Downtown Line, you can easily reaching Singapore famous place of interest such as Sentosa, Marina Bay Sand, Garden by the bay, Singapore Flyer etc.Regardless of price, I will choose Furama over any hotel in Orchard Road or City Hall.

It was our second staycation and Porcelain Hotel.The first time we stayed, the hotel person upgraded our room to the Premier one.It was really nice of her. It was totaly lovely! The room was big,cozy and it even has a jacuzzi! We stayed for a night but extended the hours till 5pm instead of checking out at 12pm. The second time, i booked the Standard room but the room which was given to us was on the 1st level. At first i was quite hesitant because it is on the first level but then once i entered the room,i almost forgot that it was on the first level. That's because i love the coziness feeling in that room. The bed was very comfy and the toilet was big too. Overall, i had a very comfortable stay at the hotel. I like the area too as we can find quite a lot of food there and it's pretty convenient. As I'm pretty quite familiar with the area, it can be a walking distance to places like Raffles Place and there are many bus service available too. Best is it is near the Chinatown Mrt Station. Good food good and good people around. Oh we had delicious Durian Pancake too! Jumbo size for $2.50.They have it for a regular size too but best to have it Jumbo. Hot pancake which they do for you on the spot filled with cold durian fillings! The taste is great! So many food! Overall, the hotel is just perfect stay for us both. I booked a single room for 6 nights. It is a comfortable single with room to place suitcase, hang clothes, a desk for work, without being crammed. The bed and pillows are the best! I was able to get a good night's rest during my stay. Their philosophy of being environmental friendly is also a plus. Staff is professional and friendly. They make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible. Location is in the heart of Chinatown. 4 minutes from the MRT station. There is food at every street cornor, so done worry too much.

Easy to locate from the airport via MTR. This hotel is situated between two MTR stations: Outram park (20 min walk), Harbourville (15 min walk); also about 20-35 min walk to Sentosa and Tiong Bahru food hawker centre (30-35 min walk and food cost average $3-$7/plate). My fiancé & I love to walk so this hotel is perfect..room was clean & comfortable, good size for two people. Bed Linen was thin but it suits the hot Singapore weather. we were out all day so having only 3 channels on tv and crappy wi if connection didn't bother us that much. I will definitely stay at this hotel again, this is a great value for Singapore.

I travel to Singapore very often, I saw Hotel81 Chinatown from my vist to SG in February 2009. The building looks classic and it is near MRT station plus shopping plazas and food. The room is small but clean. You have water boiler,hair dryer, water,coffee and tea in your room. No internet service but across the street on the way to Clark Quay station, there is a high speed internet shop 24hrs service. Some of hotel cleaners can not speak english but they are friendly and helpful. If you look for a small, reasonable price, easy booking, easy check-in and out, this is a right place

Perfect loacation just a few minutes walk from Tiong Bahru MRT Station and bus stop is just few steps away from the Hotel. Coming from and going to the airport is not a problem. Staff are accomodating especially Ms. Siti. We arrived at the hotel early at around 830am. Ms. SITI allowed us to checked-in at 9:30am. There are restaurants, 7-11, and market nearby. I'll definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

Stayed at Butternut Tree Hotel for just one night to experience the colorful neighborhood of Chinatown. It's definitely achievable because this hotel is not only budget friendly but location is great as well. It's in Chinatown and a few minutes away from Tiong Bahru which is amazing to explore as well. It definitely gave me a local feel. The amenities was too basic so if you want a ref this is not the hotel for you. The room that I booked also has no window but it was alright because my stay was too short.

New, Clean, Near Chinatown MRT station with good service from hotel staffs (front staffs, maid, bar staffs) Value for money, clean, hotel staffs are so helpful. We're also got the big glasses of welcome drink (Alcohol / Non,Alcohol), so surprised Hotel is located in the Chinatown area which is not far from Chinatown MRT station, just 3,4 mins walk thru the Pagoda St. This hotel is on the corner of Mosque St. There're so many restaurants around (noodles, seafood, Thai food, Chinese food, ...). Room has only 2 small awning windows in room and 2 in the bathroom. 1 thing that's not ok, room has high humidity, it's too damp after turn off air conditioner and after opened restroom door. All in,room furniture surface (TV, drawers, desk, room door,....), luggage, iPhone, iPad, camera, power cords.... becoming damp by water vapor!! Hotel should have humidity control system because it's not good for health & hotel stuffs.

When I arrived at Singapore, I directly go to my hotel after I landed. I found this hotel is quite a little tiny hotel near Chinatown MRT station. Hotel is quite easy to find just go up and across the street. The room was cleaned but quite too small. Hotel officer is very nice and gentle. Also, I arrived at hotel quite in advance but they can check-in for me. It is quite so good because I think I have to wait until noon but I don't need. I got room on first floor and it don't have any window in the room but my sister who came before my said that she got room on the other floor and also have window and balcony but I'm not sure is that true? because I can't find any balcony from the outside. So, for this hotel overall is quite the best.

Hotel 1929 is a nice hotel close to the Chinatown precinct. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Our room had a large outdoor patio area with a table and chairs. There was also an outdoor bath and shower if you like to have a soak. The only downside was the noise from the rooftop bar and club across the road. There is a bar and restaurant on the ground floor where we had a great cooked breakfast which was included in the room price. We would recommend the food here. The hotel is close to a lot of Chinese restaurants and places of interest. The closest MRT station is Outtram. It is about a 45 minute trip from Changi Airport

i'm travelling to singapore with my both parents, a brother, a sister and my wife and 2 little children (an one year old boy and a third year daughter). we've decided to stay at this hotel because the distance to the mrt station, just 3 minutes and there you are. also we consider about the food, it's easy to get food the cheap one if you are a chinese food lover. because i'm travelling with kids and need a tidy room and very accessible hotel, near and fit for family, this hotel is highly recommended, if you want various cheap food , you can go to the people's park, 5 minutes walking and you can choose various cheap chinese food starting from 2 sing $ (nasi lemak)... ^_^

The room is a little bit too small if you are travelling with huge luggage. The bed, however, is big enough for me (probably can accommodate 2-3 pax) and super comfy too. I love the location, very close to Chinatown, several malls and MRT station. Staff are also very helpful. One of them help to carry my luggage to the 3rd floor. The other one help me with my iron's request

Old building but the room is in good maintenance. I like the bathroom because it was the biggest that I had ever stayed in Singapore. I stay 2night and 3 days business trip . It is nice to had breakfast at near by tiong Bahru Market and very convenient just 10min walk to tiong Bahru MRT station. Just one thing needs to be improved, the first night is ok but the second late night between 2330, next to my room, the customer may be using the bathroom and the sound of the water is disturbing, very loud for some reason. My suggestion is you can make request for other floor than third floor room.

What I like the most about this hotel are staff and its location. They are helpful and friendly and in somehow I feel like I come back home after tour. Also, they will recommend you how to spend less on transportation. Do not hesitate to make a question since they all are ready and willing to assist you. The location is just great. Several minutes walking to MRT station and restaurants. Room is clean, a bit small that might be not comfort for 2people move around the same time when rush. Overall, I really enjoy my stay. Definitely come back and recommend to friends and family. Thanks to all!!!

Place was clean and the room was neat. Food was readily available everywhere. Only down side is that Outram MRT and Tiong Bahru MRT is about a 10minute walk away from the hotel. And since the corridors are pretty long between different wings, you could hear the corridor conversations when certain guests spoke loudly. Free parking for guests was a bonus for my visitors.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Six Senses Duxton, from the smooth check in to the 10/10 service from the staff our stay was nothing short of fabulous. We were disappointed to find out that the pool at Maxwell was shut for an event but reception offered us an amazing solution and we ended up dining at The Yellow Pot (recommend the mee sua noodles and the sirloin black pepper beef cubes). We booked the Opium room and I was thrilled to soak up the chinoiserie and dark mysterious vibe from A. Hempel. We even headed to the Maxwell location for a western breakfast the following morning, think sourdough croissant, banana parfait, eggs Benedict crab cakes, chicken waffles to name a few of our selects. I would absolutely return again and perhaps book a different suite the next time:-)
