We stayed only 2 nights, just passing through Bangkok on our way home from Vietnam. A VERY big hotel, makes it a bit impersonal. But very good rates from Agoda makes up for this. The area is sort of in-between tourist area (grand palace, wat pho etc) and all the big shopping malls, which was great for our family. We enjoy that kind of "sightseeing" so for our family this was a great place to stay.

My stay was great up until I was told the wrong time for breakfast. Then when I asked to swap for lunch because I had missed breakfast it turned into a situatiation, of he said she said. I was told I was wrong and that request could not be met. I didnt see the big deal. Besides that incident, hotel is in a great location. A 5 min walk to khao San road. Do not take a tuk tuk, major rip off. Also, a 10/15min tuk tuk ride to big Buddha and wat pho.

It's also close to main historic attractions of Bangkok like the Grand palace, Wat arun, Wat Pho and the Chao Phraya river. In combination with the clean rooms with airco and safety deposit and usually large nice bathrooms and the fact that there are 2 nice outdoor swimming pools on the roofs this a very nice hotel, which is not expensive. i paid 680 baht per day for that quality

We had a super time here - fantastic service, easy check in/out (24 hour). Rooftop pool is a real highlight after being in the city all day - and a real haven from the hecticness of Khao San Road. Despite being right in the thick of it, our room was quiet and we didn't have any noise problems. From there, it's a short walk to pubs bars, or for culture and good eats int...We had a super time here - fantastic service, easy check in/out (24 hour). To be honest I was baffled. Some of the reviews said it was tired, wasn't a four star, poor facilities.... We thought the taxi driver had the wrong hotel as we arrived and the bell-man opened our door. Check in was easy. The pool was great to swim (I mean big enough - obviously pools are for swimming). There were plenty of loungers around for sun bathing. I did the insanity workout in the gym on my iPad and I was the only one in there. The staff were helpful, hotel was spotless and I would genuinely say we will come here again and tell all our friends. Only trade off is there isn't an easy restaurant to walk to. There is a 7-11 across the street but it closes about 4pm! But it wasn't a problem for us and the restaurant wasn't too badly priced. The wifi is strong in the room. You get an hour free and can pay for more. We debated the virtues of this as a couple. My fiancée is an avid googler and had a small period of adjustment....but if you're savvy, disciplined and log in and out every time you finish the specific task, download emails and read off line etc, then we found we could get by. One final comment is about the taxi to the airport. They charge you a fixed price of 500bht. This was mentioned in several reviews as somekind of conspiracy! Well it costs the driver 100bht each way in tolls and takes 45 mins to an hour depending on traffic. We had to sort our visa a few days before so made the same trip having hailed a metered taxi and then had to barter a price as meters are for trips within central Bangkok and they wanted to charge 600 bht. We got it for 500 in the end but then booked with the hotel for our 6am departure to save the hassle - taxi was there waiting for us and the bell-man carried our bags!! Thanks for a great experience.

For a very nice price you get to stay in a calm area but walking distance from khao san and all the buzz... we walked several times, tuk tuk is about 50 baht which is close to nothing. A week before staying here we stayed in a 5 star hotel in Sukumvit, which was double the price, in a huge skyscraper, but we enjoyed staying in Nanda wayyyy more. Staff is amazing, helpful, pretty good english ( which is not common in Bangkok). We are coming back to Bangkok this year and we will stay in Nanda again.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It's a nice escape from the busy road below, or if you are looking for it, it's right at your fingertips. The hotel was good value for money with all the basic amenities you would need for a short stay. It is in excellent location if you are wanting to see the grand palace, emerald buddha and wat pho. Just a short 5-10 minute walk but make sure to take a bottle of water because it can be extremely hot and its a fair walk untill you get to a shop inside. We decided to go in the morning and found it to be less busy than a lot of reviews have said. Deffinatly the best feauture of the hotel had to be its rooftop pool. It was very refreshing to take a dip mid afternoon after a day of sight seeing. It was never crowded and a beautiful place to watch the sun set over Bangkok. I would recommend staying in this hotel.

location is right on khaosan rd. which is great if you don't mind staying right in the hustle & bustle of bangkok. there are plenty of restaurants in the area that you can grab a meal, not to mention the street is littered with food stalls for a cheap and quick bite. we ended up visiting wat pho temple which was only a 20 min walk away from the hotel. so if you're look...location is right on khaosan rd. which is great if you don't mind staying right in the hustle & bustle of bangkok. there are plenty of restaurants in the area that you can grab a meal, not to mention the street is littered with food stalls for a cheap and quick bite. we ended up visiting wat pho temple which was only a 20 min walk away from the hotel. so if you're looking to catch up on some thai culture it's good to know that some temples aren't far away. the hotel has a nice rooftop pool with a bar that is open late, so even a late swim is possible. we didn't have any problem sleeping at night even with the hotel located just off of the partying strip. the only down side of the hotel was the breakfast that was included in the price. it was sub par to say the least. overall i would recommend the dang derm hotel & would stay there again.

It's so minimal that there are no decorative elements in the rooms other than the stenciled slogans on the walls above the beds. My room had a rather unattractive view of some neighboring buildings but I don't stay in hotels for the views. I love this location in Bangkok. There aren't other hotels in the immediate vicinity but it's a 15 minute walk to Banglamphu and the Khao San Road area (which I personally don't like but it can be very useful to have access to). It's a 15-20 minute walk to Wat Pho/Grand Palace. It's also within walking distance to Wat Sakhet (The Golden Mount) and even Chinatown. And if you don't feel like walking in the heat to any of these places, the cab rides will be short and cheap. Would definitely stay here again.

I travelled with two other girlfriends from the Indian. This was our first trip to Thailand and our first stop was Bangkok. We we're exhausted when we arrived but excited to be there. We had prearranged airport transfers so we would not need to worry about transportation upon arrival, which I highly recommend. The ride took about 45 minutes to the hotel from the airport even though it was late evening/light traffic. We selected this hotel because they have two bedroom suites. Most hotels in Thailand we found only offer accommodations for four people max. So we were glad to find accommodations where the four of us could be all together. We also chose this hotel for the five star rating, affordable price, and the cool pool bar restaurant. The two bedroom suite was great. It was spacious and comfortable. We spent one night here upon arriving to Thailand, traveled to Chiang Mai and Phuket and then returned back to Bangkok. We found that the beds here were the most comfortable ones that we slept on during our entire trip. That said, the beds are still harder than beds back home. But compared to the other two hotels in Thailand that we stayed at, the beds here were by far the softest.

Everything was as expected or even better. Location is perfect - 10 min away from Khao San, 30 min away from Wat Pho or royal palace. If you need a place to stay in Bangkok and want to be in the vicinity of major tourist attractions - you found the place. Staff is very welcoming and always polite. One tiny thing was the situation with late checkout - on our last eveni...Everything was as expected or even better. Location is perfect - 10 min away from Khao San, 30 min away from Wat Pho or royal palace. There was no problem - we were to leave the room by 14.00. When we went outside the hotel for the final sightseeing the hotel contacted us and asked to leave earlier at 13.30. Took a taxi, arrived at hotel at 12.55 and at 13.00 they called the room and asked to leave now... this is the only thing. Despite that fact - highly recommended.

We requested late ...We only got to stay 2 nights but would have stayed a week or longer. The surrounds are beautiful. Staff were courteous, polite, friendly and had a sense of humour. It felt like there were a lot of staff to help and I noticed loads of public and quiet areas to enjoy and use Internet or have even small business meetings or meals in semi-private areas. We requested late checkout to 1pm, asked for longer, but they were unable to accomodate - instead provided us assistance to store our luggage, provide towels and a relaxing time by the pool and a large, comfortable shower with amenities to wash and prepare for the flight home. We were just a short walk to the ferry which dropped us to Wat Pho (2 quick enjoyable ferry rides 14 baht + 3.5 baht) via another beautiful Wat on the other side of the river to take a meal and walk to Pahurat Market and the Indian Fabric Mall. Bought a few expensive but lovely gifts home to family and enjoyed sleeping in comfort. Only thing I would love is to see the Doonas and pillows changed to Synthetics to avoid the Duck down (for the Ducks and also people with allergies).

Outside of the hotel cheap shopping centers are located, delicious street foods, nice bars and affordable restaurants. The wifi is free and fast, Front desk officer can understand and speak english as well.

Stayed in a stardard room which was compact but good.As the room was on the road side it was a bit noisy. The only problem we had was the smell from the water in the toilet we were eventally moved to a larger room but there was still a slight odour from the toilet. Nice location, we can state only positive things about the hotel. Moreover, for what you get it was very cheap! The breakfast is very, very nice (Thai and Continental) and you can sit outside to enjoy it!!! The pool was great for us, since we like to swim. I'd say this place exceeded my expectations, I've stayed in some boutique hotels which, while having great decor and facilities, still feel like a "hotel". But the atmosphere and staff at Bangkok Publishing Residence give you a very cozy and intimate feeling, while the overall decor and amenities feel luxurious but not pretentious.
