First of all, this hotel is very luxury at a budget price. Most budget hotels in Thailand have outdated furnishings and wall hangings, but every inch of this hotel is clean, well-maintained, very luxury looking. The staff is outstanding and there is a doorman or other staff about every 20 meters of the hotel. Check-in and check-out was fast, and we even got fast servi...First of all, this hotel is very luxury at a budget price. The staff is outstanding and there is a doorman or other staff about every 20 meters of the hotel. Check-in and check-out was fast, and we even got fast service when we needed an extra room card. I mention this because I read many horror story reviews on here before we booked the place. I only saw crowds in the reception area when a bus came in (which there were many - its one of the biggest hotels in Bangkok). The breakfast was outstanding. You can eat in the cafe, which has outdoor dining, or the upstairs restaurant. Both have the same food, so it depends if want a city view with your breakfast, or some fresh morning air. The Thai restaurant at the top of the hotel wasn't very impressive. The food was bland and overpriced. We live in Northeast Thailand, so maybe we are spoiled. The best part of the hotel was the room. We stayed in a 3-bedroom suite, which was a mini-apartment. It actually looks like the hotel bought a condo building next door and turned the condos into rooms. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean and new, and there was lots of space. We actually only needed 2-bedrooms, but the upgrade price was so cheap we went with 3-bedrooms. The suites have their own lobby, elevators, and secured parking. If you want to go shopping, which was the primary reason we stayed at this hotel (the kids needed clothes for school), there is a 6-floor fashion mall below the hotel. Its the place to get good, low priced clothes (6th floor has a food court). If you want to save even more money, get up at 3am and walk outside. From 3-6am, the streets around the hotel hold the largest clothes wholesale market in SE Asia. Hundreds of sellers line the streets selling every kind of clothes you can think of. We saved 70% on school clothes this year.

Not ideal if you need the BTS or MRT though. Very close to Khao San Road and its party zone. Hotel has a reasonable sized pool but no gym. I like being in the middle of the chaotic backpacker scene - there are great restaurants, bars, massage places, coffee shops, fruit stands and book stores just outside the front door all day and night. Compared to other hotels on the street, this one has more character. But its certainly not for everyone. Being in the middle of the backpacker scene can also be loud and annoying. If you are looking for a quiet, family run place then this is not the hotel for you. The staff are often apathetic and uninterested. I once stayed here for 2 weeks straight and the front desk staff never once recognized me. The wifi is a pain - there are codes that expire every hour and sometimes you have to wait for a while to get a new one. And often I have to call and ask to have the router reset because it's not working. Also, it's not on the metro/skytrain so sometimes getting somewhere by taxi can take a while because of traffic. But you can easily take a water taxi or klong taxi down to silom or sukhumvit. Wat Pho and the palace are in walking distance and I like staying in the old part of the city and not in a slick chain hotel. This is my favorite place to stay in this neighborhood, which is a very different experience from other parts of bangkok.

There were plenty of loungers around for sun bathing. I did the insanity workout in the gym on my iPad and I was the only one in there. The staff were helpful, hotel was spotless and I would genuinely say we will come here again and tell all our friends. Only trade off is there isn't an easy restaurant to walk to. There is a 7-11 across the street but it closes about 4pm! But it wasn't a problem for us and the restaurant wasn't too badly priced. The wifi is strong in the room. You get an hour free and can pay for more. We debated the virtues of this as a couple. My fiancée is an avid googler and had a small period of adjustment....but if you're savvy, disciplined and log in and out every time you finish the specific task, download emails and read off line etc, then we found we could get by. One final comment is about the taxi to the airport. They charge you a fixed price of 500bht. This was mentioned in several reviews as somekind of conspiracy! Well it costs the driver 100bht each way in tolls and takes 45 mins to an hour depending on traffic. We had to sort our visa a few days before so made the same trip having hailed a metered taxi and then had to barter a price as meters are for trips within central Bangkok and they wanted to charge 600 bht. We got it for 500 in the end but then booked with the hotel for our 6am departure to save the hassle - taxi was there waiting for us and the bell-man carried our bags!! For a very nice price you get to stay in a calm area but walking distance from khao san and all the buzz... we walked several times, tuk tuk is about 50 baht which is close to nothing. As an architect, I was overwhelmed by the design and beauty of the hotel. Interesting design books in the lobby... A week before...Nanda is the nicest hotel we could have found in Bangkok. Staff is amazing, helpful, pretty good english ( which is not common in Bangkok). We are coming back to Bangkok this year and we will stay in Nanda again.

Just a short 5-10 minute walk but make sure to take a bottle of water because it can be extremely hot and its a fair walk untill you get to a shop inside. We decided to go in the morning and found it to be less busy than a lot of reviews have said. Deffinatly the best feauture of the hotel had to be its rooftop pool. It was very refreshing to take a dip mid afternoon after a day of sight seeing. It was never crowded and a beautiful place to watch the sun set over Bangkok. I would recommend staying in this hotel.

It's so minimal that there are no decorative elements in the rooms other than the stenciled slogans on the walls above the beds. My room had a rather unattractive view of some neighboring buildings but I don't stay in hotels for the views. I love this location in Bangkok. There aren't other hotels in the immediate vicinity but it's a 15 minute walk to Banglamphu and the Khao San Road area (which I personally don't like but it can be very useful to have access to). It's a 15-20 minute walk to Wat Pho/Grand Palace. It's also within walking distance to Wat Sakhet (The Golden Mount) and even Chinatown. And if you don't feel like walking in the heat to any of these places, the cab rides will be short and cheap. Would definitely stay here again.

The massages were on offer when we were there so they we really competitive prices and the location was much more conducive to relaxation (than having a massage on the street nearby). The ride took about 45 minutes to the hotel from the airport even though it was late evening/light traffic. We selected this hotel because they have two bedroom suites. Most hotels in Thailand we found only offer accommodations for four people max. So we were glad to find accommodations where the four of us could be all together. We also chose this hotel for the five star rating, affordable price, and the cool pool bar restaurant. The two bedroom suite was great. It was spacious and comfortable. We spent one night here upon arriving to Thailand, traveled to Chiang Mai and Phuket and then returned back to Bangkok. We found that the beds here were the most comfortable ones that we slept on during our entire trip. That said, the beds are still harder than beds back home. But compared to the other two hotels in Thailand that we stayed at, the beds here were by far the softest.

Despite the protests causing major gridlock around this quarter this didnt hamper our stay. The staff were very polite,helpful and spoke good english. The only let down was that the free tuk tuk service seemed fine until we were dropped off at a scam point. we were told the palace didnt open until 11 am and where prompted to pay for a boat trip for 3000 baht, the normal boat to goto wat arun costs 40 baht. the palace and reclining buddha are open all day, dont be fooled!!

Michael had two bookings. Twice they are saying he had not paid. Seems strange as there was a day between both booking. This is unacceptable and I wonder who pocketed the money. Room keys in this hotel are only issued on payment for the room and either a deposit or passport handed in as insurance against damage. Passport was used and returned. Can you please sort this out.

Only 30seconds to wat bowonniet to do pindapatta to about 100 Bhante Sangha. Khaosan road only 2-4minutes walk. Food & shopping are all around within seconds! Recommended for those don’t mind to sleep at crowd music / bass sound until 2 am midnight. Almost Everything can be found here and pretty affordable cheap price. One same road with Ibis 4 or 5 star hotel. Just...Only 30seconds to wat bowonniet to do pindapatta to about 100 Bhante Sangha. Khaosan road only 2-4minutes walk. Food & shopping are all around within seconds! Recommended for those don’t mind to sleep at crowd music / bass sound until 2 am midnight. Almost Everything can be found here and pretty affordable cheap price. One same road with Ibis 4 or 5 star hotel. Just opposite of it. Might think of coming back again. If there is no more other better alternative hotel though 😁

let me store my excess baggage when i left for 2 weeks and didn’t charge even though i had agreed to. took care of my booking to Cambodia with no pressure for upgrades or the sale at all , unlike competitors. in fact i wish they booked my train/ boat to Koh Tao as the agent i did book with didn’t reimburse when the transportation from train did not show up at 2 am and ...let me store my excess baggage when i left for 2 weeks and didn’t charge even though i had agreed to. took care of my booking to Cambodia with no pressure for upgrades or the sale at all , unlike competitors. in fact i wish they booked my train/ boat to Koh Tao as the agent i did book with didn’t reimburse when the transportation from train did not show up at 2 am and the boat was scheduled for 6 am. i had to book a hotel and miss my boat then buy additional boat tickets and taxi to pier. when i got no compensation as agreed upon i knew i would only book from villa cha cha next time. and i did.

I'd say this place exceeded my expectations, I've stayed in some boutique hotels which, while having great decor and facilities, still feel like a "hotel". But the atmosphere and staff at Bangkok Publishing Residence give you a very cozy and intimate feeling, while the overall decor and amenities feel luxurious but not pretentious. I especially love the rooftop gar...I'd say this place exceeded my expectations, I've stayed in some boutique hotels which, while having great decor and facilities, still feel like a "hotel". But the atmosphere and staff at Bangkok Publishing Residence give you a very cozy and intimate feeling, while the overall decor and amenities feel luxurious but not pretentious. I especially love the rooftop garden where they grow the most delicious salad I've had in years! I'll surely comeback the next time I'm in Bangkok!

Hotel is situated behind soi which have really cheap local Thai food ranging from about 50thb. Phuket is indeed expensive and the average prices are 100-200thb. The next best restaurant is called PhukeTurk. Cheap and tasty. The night receptionist is really friendly and welcoming. The rooms perfectly clean and have all the amenities for long stay....
