Great hotel & grounds”
We stayed at the Imperial Mae Hong Son Resort for 2 days in early January and liked it a lot. Although the hotel is a little way out of town, it wasn't a problem for us as we had our own car. The rooms were large, clean and well looked after. Our room overlooked the large pool and decking area and the beautiful gardens. Breakfast was great and served in the outdoor restaurant overlooking the gardens also. The staff were excellent - helpful with any requests and very friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

Very nice and quaint hotel”
This is an older hotel, but it's part of the Imperial chain of hotels so obviously of a very high standard and the best hotel in Mae Hong Son city. Weather was cool in the mornings as it was early January when we stayed, so a swim in the pool wasn't looking very tempting, but during the day or by March it surely would be. Breakfast was OK but could have been a little better with more variety. I also enjoyed a nice massage in the room. Will definitely consider staying again on my next trip to Mae Hong Son.

Romantic location”
We had a very pleasant stay at the Imperial Mae Hong Son. Hotel set in lovely location so you can walk from the pool straight into the forest with a small stream. Breakfast was good and the Wifi had a good signal. Receptionist was very friendly and upgraded us to a beautiful suite. Complimentary shuttle is available to and from central Mae Hong Son which is around 3 km’s away. Booked a private tour from the resort to take in all the local sites. Defiantly would stay again.

One of the best hotels n Mae Hong Son”
We had booked this as a last minute overnight stay and as accommodation in other hotels in Mae Hong Son was limited we booked this one. We wouldn't normally want to pay this much but overall it was definitely worth it. Initial impressions count for a lot and this hotel looked extremely impressive when we arrived and were checked by efficient and friendly staff. Our room was big and very clean and comfortable with a pool from from the balcony. The bathroom was a little small, probably because much of it was taken up by an adjoining linen cupboard. We had a really comfortable and relaxing sleep followed by a good selection from the buffet breakfast. Didn't manage a swim as the water in the pool didn't look too inviting as it looked somewhat murky. Finished our visit with a nice walk through the beautifully manicured gardens.

Lovely old world charm however located out of town”
the hotel room was slightly tired but very clean, charming and had a lot of character. lovely bath soaps and great water pressure. our room had a balcony with a lovely view of the river. it was located slightly out of town and some local maps listed it with a slightly different name (imperial tara) which made it hard to find. there are few tuk-tuk's in mae hong son which might make this an inconvenient choice if you don't have your own transport.a however, the hotel has everything you need onsite (restaurant, laundry, etc). for the price we thought this hotel was excellent value.

A quiet and peaceful hotel”
The check in was smooth and fast. The porter was ever ready to help us with our luggage when we arrived. All I had to do was to let them have my passport for registration. The key to the room was ready. Spacious room with big bed. Downside was the old towels (even though clean). The pool was well maintained and cleaned in the morning. Peaceful and quiet surrounding. Breakfast was adequate and satisfactory. Staff attended to us and even offered for additional serving which we declined as we have small appetite. Will recommend friends to stay here should they come to Mae Hong Son.

Luxury Hotel, friendly staff, Quiet environment”
Price should be lower as the Swimming pool is under renovation. I paid the price for all facilities to be used at the hotel. But it has amazing garden and has beautiful surroundings.. great mountain view at the back. Chill out at huge room balcony and admiring the sceneries of Mae Hong Son!

Best place to stay in Mae Hong Son Town”
The Imperial is centrally located in Mae Hong Son town, so a decent walk in the day and a shuttle service make it ideal. Check in and out were friendly and efficient and breakfast is buffet style with a range to suit all tastes. The hotel layout and facilities are very good. Beds are comfortable, especially by Thai standards, which are usually quite hard. As we went outside peak season the hotel was not full, but a couple of tour groups were in at the same time, which proved a liitle noisy from nearby rooms and also by someone knocking on our door quite loudly, by mistake in the very early morning. The hotel would be wise to put individual guests away from larger group travellers to avoid these things arising.

Nice hotel with a nice green garden!”
nice welcoming in a nice hotel. the hotel maybe outdated but well maintained! after a hard trip this was what we needed, just too bad we could extend our stay because the hotel was fully booked. the breakfast was good, with many choices. i had finally my salad with an italian dressing (hardley to get in thailand). if i am in mae hong son i would certainly book this hotel again! btw, wifi was very bad, but next to the reception they have two new computers for internet and a half hour costs about bath.

Great resort for relaxing ”
My wife and I came here to experience Mae Hong Son and relax and the Imperial Tara was ideal for that. friendly staff, easy access to rooms from the loftly open-air lobby with large grounds for walking along a forest stream made this a perfect short get-away. although a bit outside of town the hotel offers free shuttle service to town and the airport.

i had a great stay at imperai mae hong son. beautiful nature, beautiful landscaping. the selling point for me is the swimming pool and the location that is close to town. it is about 5-10 minutes drive to town. the room size is large.

good hotel at good price”
to find hotelis difficult since it is not in gps. mae hong son is a small city and the night life is not like in bangkok and phuket. the food in the hiotel is really good. the staff is very helpful while we are making tour programme. near to the karen village and hill tribe villages. the temple is good.

Good hotel, but perhaps too big”
A very pleasant stay. We stayed for 2 nights in January. A sprawling hotel with lots of steps. Facilities good, but had the feeling of being a bit dated. There is some improvement work going on - did not affect our stay whatsoever. Good buffet breakfast, although the outside terrace was cold when we were there. Well located on main road into Mae Hong Song, but set back so not much road noise. We had a large top floor (3rd) room with a balcony looking over the swimming pool. For some reason there was only one chair on the balcony.

clean and satisfy but a little bit noise located in a teak wood forest on the edge of Mae Hong Son town. Views of the majestic mountains and lush teak forests are complemented by the large pool which lies under the trees.

Aging nice hotel”
We stayed here for 2 nights in July. It's probably the best hotel in town...which means that Mae Hong Son is undeveloped because all the hotels seem older. There was no new resort there. The lobby is great open aired with lots of teak. It's close enough to town but not right in it...which is good too. We rented motorbikes and it just took 5 minutes to get back and forth to dinner. We thought the restaurant was overpriced and mediocre but we had dinner both nights at the Fern in town and really loved that. The pool is older and not great and the gym is 'non-existent' - two old pieces of equipment under the balcony. The room is comfortable enough, for sure. If I went back to Mae Hong Son I would most likely stay here again just because I wouldn't want to be right in town and this seems to be one of the best hotels in town. But don't get your hopes up for luxury!!

Giant quiet hotel”
The Imperial Mae Hong Son Resort is a very very large beautiful building that was eerily empty. We were there in late June, and were probably two of only maybe six guests in a large building that looked like it could accomodate several hundred easily.

One night in Mae Hong Son”
Conveniently located on the main road from Mae Sariang to Mae Hong Son about 4km outside the town centre of Mae Hong Son. Nice location set amidst the forest gives this hotel a resort feel. The hotel is low rise but is relatively old and this is reflected in the rooms, which were adequate and clean but old. Also felt the breakfast selection was poor for a mid range hotel
