Best value for backpackers and short term travellers”

The place is just as laidback as it is for backpackers and travellers staying in singapore for a shirt term holiday or visit. Breakfast is basic but its the very least that the money spent is worth for.. the staff is friendly, and always attentive to customers request and they also did their best to make sure that the customers are staying in a safe place and a place catered just nice for backpackers. The only thing that might affect the customers might be because that the reception is closed till 7pm but still they will go to great lengths to make sure customers get to check in even if its a late check in or check out... Bottomline is... One of the best hostel value for money and accesible to the places of interestbin singapore. Thank you....i enjoyed my stay there..im sure others will as well...cheers

VERY ACCOMMODATING STAFF”

My 6 year old daughter got sick while we were in Singapore. We were checked in at Indie Hostel. The staff were very helpful in assisting our needs and were even guiding us in finding a clinic where I could bring my daughter for check up. The staff were very attentive to our needs and very friendly. Thank you Morna and Kash!

Best for back packers”

Value for the money you pay for. Nothing fancy. It's keep it simple concept. Very accommodating staff, who are ready to help you all the time. Place right next to Jalan Besar MRT making it easy to reach from airport and for local sight seeing. Hostel well maintained. Restrooms neat and clean. Access controlled entries to the hostel so you can come in and go out any time. Can be little noisy at times as ppl will be coming in at late hours. You get a pillow and a blanket. Hostel is air conditioned with ac running all the time.

Next to one metro station, close to Little India”

The hostel staff was really helpful and nice. Hostel was clean. Time to time little noisy but it was because of the other guests. I was lucky to have lowest bed from the bunk bed of three. Not have proper place for big bags near the beds. Location was excellent next to Jalan Besar metro station. Easy to move fron place to place then. Really good for shorter stay.

It is a nice backpacker hostel with friendly & kind owner. The hostel located exactly in front of Jalan Besar MRT Station, there are restaurant nearby. very clean! But no privacy since they only separate the room just by curtain eventhough i booked for quadroom. Overall it is good for short stay

It is a hostel”

Does what it says on the tin. A hostel, no more no less. Good for what it is, but about as barebones as you get. Staff are quite helpful. Location is PERFECT if you plan to walk or bus around. For amenities, towels are S$3, a load of laundry is S$12, a scan of a document is S$0.30. Metal-frame 3-bunk racks, curtain room dividers, fixed A/C temp and on-off for lights. Breakfast is literally toast, spread, a water kettle, and some teabags, coffee, and a French press. Bathrooms are stocked with TP until late at night, when at times they run out, I got lucky, I carry my own roll. Sheets were clean. In contrast to some posts that noted bedbugs, during my stay the building was gassed for bugs, I assume as part of routine pest control. I didn't see any. For crowds, note that this hostel has long-stay rates posted, starting at S$380/month, in downtown Singapore. That, rather than backpackers, is more of who stays here, but it's a mix of both. Quiet.

I had to change this reservation (upgrade it) but isn't possible. I was informed by Agoda I need to book a new one and cancellation isn't allowed so nothing will be returned to me. To be fair with Indie Hostel, they did include that on their advert. It's just sad that you can't modify anything once booked so I decided to book elsewhere.

The place is not the clean but the host is very accommodating. The place is also near to train station and just a walking distance to bugis street, arab street and little india.

Bed Bugs Everywhere! Sleepless!”

The only best thing with this hostel are their Staffs. Very friendly and they speak clear english. I booked this hostel without checking the reviews since we got a very last minute change of travel itinerary and booked it just a couple of minutes before we pass through the Immigration. Very wrong move, we are sleepless! We're supposed to stay there for 3 nights but in our first night, we are awaken at around 12MN because of BED BUG BITES! Very stressful! We can't do nothing but to wait until morning and transferred to another hostel. They refunded our unused 2nights. Facilities and comfort need to be fully renovated, cleaned and upgraded. There are lots of hostels with much cheaper price but has the best facilities and friendly staffs as well. Dont forget to check the hotel reviews! Absolutley NOT Recommendable! (Sorry for the very friendly staffs)

We booked a one room with four beds, but actually it was not a room, but just a compartment divided by thin curtain. We decided to take another hotel no sooner than we lost words to realize it. Considering the cheap price and location, this hostel is not bad for backpackers. I hope the explanation of the booking site become more clear. We are very disappointed...

Excellent Front Desk Staff But Poor Living Condition”

The only thing that was memorable to me about the stay was the excellent service of the front desk staff Allysa. She was the only reason that I extended my stay at the hostel. Pls be aware that there are bed bugs on the bed and also ventilation in the room is not good becos too many ppl inside the compound. Its more like a dormitory rather than a hostel. Toilets are smelly and no toiletries or bath towel provided whatsoever. You need to rent the towel. WIFI is very stable and fast. Location is convenient near central district and MRT line. Once again its Allysa that made a difference to my stay becos of how patience and understanding she is while trying her best always to resolve matters.

Good place for budget stay”

This was my first experience staying in a hostel. I arrived late and the host was noce enough to help me open the door late night. The place is average with bunk beds and basic amenities. Good for a budget traveler. Don't expect much though.

The breakfast was simply good for a night stay. Just that the bedsheet was a bit smelly. Not sure whether it was changed or not before we arrive. And i think the hostel should provide a blanket because the room was very cold. I was a bit shocked that no blanket provided.
