Yadanarpon Dynasty Hotel
Eastern Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"Yadanarpon is well located close to the old palace and a few minutes in a taxi from downtown Mandalay. Room was good, everything worked. Wifi was pretty good for Myanmar, best I had during my stay in the country. Staff were really good, went out of their way to help. My Burmese is pretty bad so a bit of patience and everything got done. Rooftop bar isn't really one, they rollout a few tables at sunset. In fact, I don't think there was a bar there at all. It's just a couple of minutes walk down the road to street stalls and restaurants anyway, no problem. Close to sunset a loud noise emanated from some contraption near reception which then started to give off clouds of toxic smelling smoke, I had to close the balcony doors. Apparently it was to kill mossies.....(sledgehammer..walnut etc) Good hotel. If you're traveling in Myanmar you'll soon get used to the different hotel standards and learn not to be too picky about the small things. I'd stay there again"

Ayarwaddy River View Hotel
Northern Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"This is one of the few river-side hotels in Mandalay, but as a result, is about 3k from the centre of town. There aren't many shops ot restaurants nearby. The rooms are spacious, clean, well equipped with good wi-fi. We had a rear-facing room, which are much cooler and quieter than the front, river-view rooms that overlook a busy road with hot afternoon sun. The breakfast buffet is vast. The staff are superb - well-trained, speak English and couldn't do enough for you. The top feature of this hotel is the roof-top bar and restaurant, with sweeping views over the river. The bar serves a complimentary, free-flow cocktail of the day to hotel guests daily, for the duration of the spectacular sunset over the river.. Recommended."

Hotel The Haven
Northern Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"Penthouse is highly recommended, 100 USD is very reasonable for what it provide, great view and privacy. But kindly advise hotel revised breakfast to optional since they only have less then 20 tables and very limited choice for breakfast, it’s impossible to enjoy during peak hour in-house, Mandalay has so many good breakfast place."

Hotel Shwe Pyi Thar
Eastern Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"After disembarking about 5 a.m. from Myanmar's answer to the Iraqi torture chamber - the Yangon to Mandalay train, my friend and I limped into a 'taxi' and arrived at the Shwe Pyi Thar Hotel about 5.30 a.m. We hoped to store our luggage and find a spot on a floor somewhere so we could recover. However, after looking at our twisted, battered bodies the amazingly empathetic staff booked us straight into our room and even offered us a free breakfast, which I declined but my friend enjoyed. Our stay at this beautiful hotel was enough to restore my faith in Myanmar hospitality and humanity. If ever I return to Mandalay, a stay in the Shwe Pyi Thar will be mandatory."

Hotel Yadanar Oo
Northern Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"Room is good. Breakfast buffet is nice. Location is great: not on a noisy street but it's located near the historical Mandalay Palace's entrance, supermarket, money changer, restaurants. The best asset of this hotel is the front office staff named Elsa, who speaks English well and super-helpful in arranging private car to-&-from Inle Lake and also tours around Mandalay city, Mandalay Hill, Sagaing Hill, Inwa."

Mandalay City Hotel
Central Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"Had a great stay at this beautiful hotel. The staff were very friendly, attentive and professional. Great buffet breakfast with chefs cooking fresh omelettes etc. The pool is fantastic (not many hotels in town with a pool) and was our location of choice during the middle of the hot Summer days. Taxis just outside the hotel driveway ready to take you anywhere. Internet (wifi) available in the foyer, however either slow or not working. There is an internet cafe just round the corner with good wifi / landline connection and quite cheap. The trick in Mandalay is to use the internet from late morning through to about 5.00pm. Either side of that it is very slow due to it being the peak use period and the country not having a good network at this time. I would definitely recommend this hotel compared to many others in Mandalay."

Eastern Palace Hotel
Northern Mandalay,Mandalay - View on map
"We are currently living in Yangon, but are from the U.K. We visited Mandalay for a weekend trip. The hotel is very comfortable, with good sized rooms, comfy beds and spotlessly clean. The staff, as we have found with all people in Myanmar, were polite and friendly with ready smiles. The most refreshing thing, not only from the people in this hotel but in general, is that Myanmese people will go out of their way to help you in any way they can, without wanting something in return, even if you try to offer, it is politely refused. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, and will stay here again when we return to Mandalay."

Hotel Magic Mandalay

"The hotel is new and the rooms, pool, restaurant etc are perfect. The staff maintained the place perfectly. The managers were very personable and were concerned with our happiness. The restaurant has a nice breakfast and the menu is quite good for dinner. The location is great as it only a few blocks from the new mall which has a huge grocery store, several theaters and restaurants. We will be heading back to mandalay and will definitely stay here again. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay great!!!!! "
