Amazing place, beautiful views all around, the room was very nice and comfortable. Picturesque pool and an instagramable pond full of lilies. Incredibly nice and warm staff. Location is perfect in the northern part of the lake, a 15 minute drive from the vineyard and about 20 to the city center.

Great value! Great resort! By the lake!”

Staff is very nice, friendly, and helpful. I love how it is by the lake, and we took the boat tour right from our resort! We had an incredible time here. We were among the the very few Asian tourists, most were French. Would definitely recommend this place and if given the chance, would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful end to our Myanmar experience. Definitely opt for getting a boat here rather than taxi as it adds to the whole experience start to finish. You can get a taxi on your way out When you’re done. Great staff amazing views and food and overall a fantastic experience!

      A beautiful treat”

Decided to treat ourselves whilst in Inle Lake - and what a treat! Stayed in the Lakefront Royal Villa (saved quite a bit on a last-minute deal), which gave us stunning uninterrupted views, the best being from the shower of all places! The breakfast had quite the spread to suit all tastes. The pool was gorgeous, although too cold to take a dip - it would be nice if it has been heated. Location wise, it was a little secluded, but that was the beauty of it. A 20 min taxi ride would take you to Nyaungshwe.

Beautiful place for Sunset in Inle Lake”

The staff is helpful, speak English well. The air and the indoor/outdoor view are just perfectly. Buffet for breakfast is quite delicious with many options, especially they have Asian food served with the chopsticks. Everything is OK except for water heater in my bathroom. It seems not working and I had to take a shower in cold water for days. It would be fine in summer, but in winter, it's not acceptable!

The compound is enormous and in harmony with the surrounding nature, with a mix of superb teak buildings and wild jungle, lotus blossom every morning, dramatic view on the lake but far enough from noisy motorboats routes. A French manager makes sure that everything run smoothly 24/7. In two words: perfect stay.

      A tranquil retreat”

Beautiful tranquil resort on the lake. A long and windy drive from Heho airport which was very expensive compared to taxis across other locations in Myanmar. Resort staff were very friendly and helpful. Good rooms and updated bathrooms, although our toilet seat was falling off! Family friendly layout and facilities. The restaurant menu had good variety and quality was good albeit a significantly higher price than our experience in Myanmar. We took a boat out on the lake, organised by the resort. The experience was amazing but we didn't have warm enough clothes and nearly perished from the damp cold.

We can highly recommend the hotel if you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy a absolutely amazing resort with good service and personal. Great European breakfast... Unfortunately it is really far away from town and a tuk tuk is around 8000 to 10000 khat. Further everything in the hotel is quite expensive, e.g. One day boat trip 40 USD compared to 10 to 15 USD booked directly at the boat station.

      Location is Key, Beautiful Property”

We chose an off the water room while my parents had the one on the water. They were both quite nice, but the water room did not warrant the extra price.

      Beautiful view but overpriced amenities”

The view is incredible and the staff are mostly very helpful. However, we felt quite ripped off by the cost of the 'extras'. It was listed as having a hot tub and - because we had just finished a trek, this was our main reason for choosing the hotel. However, it actually costs $15 per 30 minutes and it is in the middle of the spa which had staff walking around all the time. Therefore, I don't think they should list as having a hot tub as a separate feature to 'spa facilities' as this implies that the hot tub is free to use. The other part was that when I tried to book a taxi to the bus station, the woman on reception wouldn't give me a number for a separate taxi firm and so instead I had to use the hotel's car service which was $20 for a 25 minute journey. Having lived in Myanmar for 18 months, this is an extortionate amount - in a Yangon taxi this would have cost maximum $5. Overall, beautiful place with great staff - but frustrated by the cost of the extras.

      Above average”

The place is AMAZING for a sunset, or for a calm and relaxing time. The hotel really have a big capacity. However I wouldn't advise it if you plan to go around Inle lake on a boat trip. Once you reach the hotel, as it is quite isolated from everything, there is no other option but to book through the hotel for transportation to the main city or around the lake, or any activities, and the prices of the hotel are VERY high compared to Nyang Shwe (where most of the accomodations are, and where the boats departs in the morning also). At night (after 6pm), boats rarely navigates so most likely you will eat at the restaurant of the Hotel as well. Recommendation : 1 night is very nice and relaxing (especially after a trek), but I would advise to stay in Nyang Shwe to have more flexibility and choice. If you just plan some relaxing time by the lake, then the hotel is a little paradise to stay.

Not recommended for its remote location”

We have to book a boat with the hotel in order to get to the nearest town - Nyaung Shwe. Expensive usd12/ 18,000kyat for a one-way boat trip. We took a tuk tuk back (Nyaung Shwe to Inle Resort and Spa) at 15,000kyat and 2nd day slightly cheaper at 10,000kyats. Should have chosen a hotel Nyaung Shwe as there are more activities from there, unless you are happy with just relaxing at gym/pool.

      Worth a splurge!”

      Beautiful location and rooms

We decided to splurge to spend a night on the lake, and Inle Resort did not disappoint. It is not priced on the higher end of resorts right on the water, but I think it was much better value in this way. We stayed in one of the garden cottages, which was decked out with its own wide window seat (huge picture windows) overlooking a generous balcony over a tranquil pond. We went at the peak of dry season, and the lake water was low everywhere, but I can imagine it would have been much more beautiful during the rainy season (or shortly thereafter). Food at dinner was very pricey but tasty (the fish burger and the intha fish were yummy); if we had stayed for more than one day, we would have visited the nearby village for lunch/snacks. We bought a bottle of wine in Nyaung Shwe to enjoy at the resort, and we were happy we did. There's not much to do at the resort (there is a spa, but at a high price). Very pretty sunset over the lake, though the manmade island that marks the lake entrance to the resort was something of an eyesore. We definitely enjoyed our time here and would love to go back for another relaxing day or two.

      Wonderful hotel, fantastic stay”

      Location, staff, natural surroundings

This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed and is very much at the upper end of these types of resorts. The hotel is set on the shore of Inle Lake, in a fantastically serene and beautiful location that allows you to watch the sunset over the mountains. You can access the hotel via boat and road, although it's mainly accessed by boat. It's about a 20 minute motorboat journey to the lakeside town where you'd pick up a transfer to go back to Heho Airport. The hotel is extremely sympathetic to the natural surroundings, meaning its size is really not apparent from first appearance, with the rooms comprising single story pitched bungalows scattered here and there. We went for the cheap cottages nearer the back of the hotel, which I think were excellent value for money (at low season), but if you really want to splash out or are on a honeymoon for example, go for the lake view villas at the front. Our room/cottage was great, very clean, a nice size with all the usual amenities and extras, such as bathrobes and slippers etc. It also had a lovely little deck at the back which overlooked a small pond so you can enjoy a coffee at 6am and watch the sunrise on the deck. They hadn't overdone it, but there was a lot of local character specific to the surroundings, such as carved wood encasements for the light switches. The staff were lovely, which you would expect in a 4 star hotel, but I would add that they allowed me to add an extra guest to the booking at the last minute free of charge. The breakfast is really good, and the food in the restaurant was good too. In terms of location, it's about a 25 minute cycle to the nearby Red Mountain winery which I'd highly recommend. It is situated on the hillside overlooking the valley which, if possible, is even more stunning than the view over the lake. This is very much to my mind a tranquil couples get away, but not one for young kids.
