GREAT HOTEL SERVICE AND VIEW”
We ordered King Room with City View and Lounge Access. Our room view is Museum Sydney, and when at lounge, superb view - Sydney Opera House and Sydney Bridge. Bed is cozy, room is big and clean, room service great, bathroom clean. We are well treated at lounge - nice food and breakfast. Hotel at very good location, not far from Circular Quay train station and wharf, also Sydney Opera House, where we can easily find food and travel information+tour. Concierge very helpful, informing us how to take train from hotel to our niece homestay.

BEST SERVICE HOTEL NEAR SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE”
Intercontinental Sydney is a good service hotel. Location is great, near Sydney Opera House and Circular Train Station and wharf. Hotel itself indeed is an old building but well maintained inside. Love the building inside and outside. Breakfast is best, room big and clean, bathroom clean. Staff are good, very helpful. Overall a very good hotel and best location ever.-

Luxurious hotel but old hotel. ”
Hotel was in a great location. Just a 5 mins walk to circular quay and 15mins walk to Harbour Bridge or Sydney Opera House. Botanic Garden is just opposite the road as well. The rooms are of a good size but furniture and facilities looks a little dated but still kept in good condition. Cleanliness is top notch and staff always serve with a smile. Price of rooms are high and if i feel there are more value for money options out there.

Location, Style, Service”
This was a real gem. The moment I walked in, the staff let me know that I was important and that they wanted my stay in Sydney to be enjoyable. The concierge took the time to quickly show me a map of local interests. Bathroom - clean and spacious, bedroom - clean and spacious, power points - many. It really annoys me when I have to hunt for a power point for the laptop/phone charger/ tablet... Tea/coffee available. Somewhere to put two suitcases. How many times do hotel rooms have a place for one suitcase but two people have two suitcases? I was staying in one of the less expensive rooms but would not know it. I had an American guest with me and she and I had a grand time in this hotel. We dined at the hotel and were very happy. Both of us have travelled extensively in Asia but the Sydney Intercontinental was a match for any of the best hotels in Tokyo, Bangkok or Singapore, etc. Well done management, well done staff. I am looking forward to the next time I stay there.

One of Sydney's Bset Hotels !”
Located just above Circular Quay you have Sydney Opera House, The Bridge and The Rocks all within easy walking distance. If you prefer something more leisurely - The Botanical Gardens are just opposite. This Hotel is one of Sydney's finest - with good reason. The rooms are spacious with all the right touches - very comfortable indeed. The breakfast was delicious with an extensive menu. The quality of service at this property is probably the best I have experienced.

very good hotel, conveniently located in centre”
We booked this hotel because of its central location, since we were traveling with two elderly people with walking difficulties. The hotel is opposite the Botanical Gardens and just 300 meters from Circular quay where the ferry's depart. The hotel was very stylish with a cosy bar on the ground level, rooms with beautifull bathroom (coming with slippers and bathrobes) and the service (valet service, reception, housekeeping)was just perfect. We didn't pay extra for bayview, but the city-view was really nice as well, try to get a room on a higher floor for a better view. We were on the 12th floor and the view was nice. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as we thought it was quite expensive (AUD 50 for a buffet), but there were lot's of nice breakfast and dinner places close to the Harbour. If you like swimming with a view, try the pool at the top floor! p.s.: we did't eat at the hotel.

Intercontinental Standard, busines class”
While the price of the accommodation was at the mid-high range, it matched with the location and professional services to be expected from a Intercontinental Hotel. The standard broadband was fast and the service desk was efficient in helping me with the issues when I could not log in using the "standard" procedure. I also liked that I could choose from a pillow menu, which helped me get a decent night's sleep. It is also within walking distance to some major points - Sydney Opera House, the Rocks and Circular Quay.

Convenient location to sights, friendly service”
The InterContinental Sydney has an ideal location for travelers who want to be within walking distance of many of Sydney's top attractions - the Botanic Garden, the Opera House, the Rocks, and the Circular Quay ferries. However it is a little removed from the nightlife and its amenities are more suited to business travelers than families.

Nice view of Circular Quay”
Great location. Very near Botanical Garden and circular quay. Staff are very friendly and nice. I requested for an early check in. Left my luggage at the concierge and went to the Botanical Garden while waiting. The receptionist called me when my room was ready and my luggage were already in the room. They also provided a map and marked the nearby attractions, gave directions how to go there and back to hotel. Except for the building slightly obstructing the view of the Opera House, the room I got has perfect view of harbour bridge and opera house which makes me hard to leave my room.

I expected more from a 5-star hotel”
Overall, I enjoyed most aspects of my stay, but I expected more from InterContinental Sydney in terms of customer service and variety of food at buffet breakfast. Check in and check out were quick and easy, because I pre-paid for the room. But 2 days later, my credit card was wrongfully charged for mini-bar consumption, which did not happen. When I called up the hotel to clarify the situation, the lady at reception had some attitude in her voice and repeatedly said the hotel had the right to charge my credit card after check out. Fair enough if I did damage or consume something! But I didn't so why was my card charged and why 2 days after my check out? Wouldn't a stocktake of mini bar items be done on the day I leave? Anyhow, she reluctantly agreed to giving me a refund but offered no apology for the wrongful transaction and rushed to hang up the phone. I was disappointed to receive such unpleasant after-stay customer service. [Note: as of today 13 July 2013, I am still waiting for the refund to come through.. Sigh..] During my stay itself, I dined at Cafe Opera once for dinner and twice for breakfast. Dinner service was wonderful, and in particular, a Filipino female server was attentive and friendly. But breakfast service was very different, and I wonder if it is because breakfast guests are not exactly "paying customers"? I chose to stay at InterContinental because I read that their buffet breakfast was best in Sydney. But I beg to differ. I found the food variety to be quite limited, and only 1 hot food item was changed in the 2 breakfast services I attended. I would have preferred (and expected) a greater variety, or more items to be rotated from day to day. Kudos to the hotel for providing 1 type of gluten-free bread and several brands/flavors of yogurt (both organic and conventional) though. With regards to the customer service during breakfast service, I felt it was quite lacking and stark in contrast to dinner service. On both occasions, I was seated i

Great location”
If you're wanting to part of the action at Circular Quay this is the hotel to stay at..... a short walk down the hill and your in the heart of the action. A quick ferry ride and you're in Darling Harbour. There's plenty of restaurants, cafe's and shops down the road. The rooms we're spacious, the beds we're so comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud. The bathrooms and decor we're a little dated... but you can't beat the views or the location. We simply walked out the door and down the hill to the Cruise Terminal.... so easy. Great stay.

InterContinental Hotel”
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Sydney, the InterContinental Hotel was situated close to the city and convenient to all amenities, we will certainly be using this hotel again. The courteous service of the staff has once again impressed my wife and myself compared to other hotels of a similar status. The receptionist on arrival was most helpful as was the concierge when booking hotels.

Above Expectations”
Service as soon as you step out of your car is excellent, check in is fast and efficient, the 2 rooms we got were perfect, soft and dreamy beds, Fluffy towels, the bathrooms were Spic n Span Clean, the hotel's restaurants had a lovely ambience especially the rooftop bar. Location is key, A 5 minute walk to circular quay, 5 min for the royal botanical garden, 10 min or less to the rocks, 15min to the mall(westfield), 12 min to Hyde Park, what else can I ask for, Such a great stay, you definitely get what you pay for😊

Great city hotel”
A great upmarket city centre hotel. Rooms are modern and decent sized. Hotel facilities are 5* standard including a very well equipped gym. It is just a 5 minute walk away from Circular Quay or up to George St and the shops. Only negative is that you have to pay for internet access in your room.

close to Circular Railway Station to catch train ”
fantastic, will go there third time this year, it's convenient to the railway station just of the hill from Circular Quay, you never need these awful expensive taxis with their bad reputation, the clean trains are just marvelous and always on time, and the ferries across the Harbour so easy. The drinks are far too expensive though that is the only problem and we buy a bottle elsewhere and drink it upstairs

perfect location to explore the city”
This hotel benefits from a spectacular location, just one block from Circular Quay. As Priority Club Platinum Ambassadors, we were upgraded and the views over the Royal Botanic Gardens are beautiful. Service is up to scratch and even though the hotel was close to full occupancy, nothing seemed too difficult for staff. Leave some time though to check in and out though as the front desk gets very busy or utilise instant checkout. Tjr nsy windows in the eastern Harbour view rooms are a beautiful place to relax and take in the views. Bathroom is a little bit tired with shower over bath but does not spoil the 5 stareexperience.

An indulgent night.”
We treated ourselves to a night at the InterContinental over the long weekend. The check-in was one of the friendliest we've experienced and the young lady searched and allocated us a corner room with a fabulous view over the Botanical Gardens. Dinner was the sensational seafood buffet in Cafe Opera and we had a lavish breakfast there the next morning. The room was superbly comfortable. We would definitely love to repeat our wonderful experience at the InterContinental!

Almost perfect.”
We found the Intercontinental excellent in almost every respect. Unfortunately, our only view from the 21st floor was of major construction sites. Having travelled from England, it would have been great to have been offered a room with views of the Harbour, Bridge or Botanical Gardens. Our invoice for our B.& B. accommodation (excluding restaurant, bar etc.) was significantly higher than the price shown on our booking document; I hope to enquire about this.

Hotel with superb panoramic views”
Nothing short of spectacular. Location wise close to Circular Quay and bus terminal. Just a short 5 min walk to the botanic gardens and a little further to shopping area. Attention to detail is amazing and encountered various staff who went the extra mile to make your stay all the more pleasant.
