Cosy stay in Hakone-machi”

Me and my wife stayed here for 2 nights during our stay in Hakone. Although it's a bit far from Hakone-yumoto station, it's strategically located near several tourist spots such as the Lake Ashi sightseeing cruise and Hakone Checkpoint Museum. Jemsty Inn is located right across the bus station, so we didn't have to walk very far. The owner Mr Makoto Hattori @ MaC was very friendly, and he even gave some valuable advice in taking the bus back from Hakone-yumoto to Hakone-machi. Be warned that around 4:30 - 5 pm, many places and restaurants around Hakone-machi will close for the day, so it is advisable to either takeaway or have dinner around Hakone-yumoto station before taking a bus back to Hakone-machi. There isn't even a 24-hr convenience store in Hakone-machi, the closest being a small mart next to Jemsty Inn, which closes around 7:30 pm - 8 pm. The lack of a TV in our room also meant we didn't have much to do during the evening. But at least the free WiFi was pretty fast. Even so, we greatly enjoyed our stay at Jemsty Inn. Mr MaC personally cooked breakfast each morning, and he would wait up every night to make sure every tenant was back home safe and sound. For those who are visiting Hakone for the first time, please consider spending a night in a place like Jemsty Inn to enjoy this beautiful area. Sure, you could visit most of the main locations in one day if you embark on the 'Hakone Round Course' but you won't be able to fully appreciate the rich, quiet beauty that Hakone has to offer.

Unforgettable”

Very good location the hotel just opposite to hakonemachi port and bus stop. The owner, Mr.Max, really nice and friendly. He very good English speaker and he also help us plan our next day trip. We so lucky that the day we stay there is no other customer and the sky is clear. Max bring us to his secret view point of Fujisan with reflexion on Ashi lake. It was unforgettable experience. We can't wait to visit Jemsty hotel and Max next time.

Great value and location”

Literally across the street from the bus stop at Hakone-machi Lake Ashi pirate ship dock. Nothing fancy, but a clean room with wifi and a breakfast of eggs, toast, salad, sausage and juice/coffee. The owner made a great dinner recommendation of a place we never would have found on our own. BBQ at the table, also ramen, and many other reasonably priced Japanese food, only one block from the hotel. He was also very helpful in arranging to send my bags to the train station so I wouldn't have to make a separate trip there or lug them around all day.

Great Location and Great Host”

The Inn is just a short stroll from either the bus stop, or the Lake Ashi Cruise pier. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We even had a view of Mt Fuji from our room in the morning. MaC Hattori was a wonderful host, sharing stories, snacks and sake! He also prepares a good breakfast.

The hotel is near the pier , the room is comfort. The hotel owner is friendly. We stay in 2 room (1 for 3 persons and 1 for 2)

Strategic place in Hakone”

The place is pretty small but it is very new! (The owner told us that it was just a little over a month old when we stayed there). It is clean and was very strategic as it is just accross the boat point. And value for money is good eventhough there is no onsen at all since its small. And the owner was really helpful. Twas a pleasant stay!
