Value for money”

2nd time staying in this hotel. As usual book family rooms and this hotel is truly a hidden gem! Hotel Jo provides an Extremely spacious family room compared to other hotels i stayed in. The reception was as usual polite, and checking in/out was a breeze. The hotel is clean, hallway to rooms smells good. Eventho the hotel is kinda old, it does not have a musky smell at all. The plus point of staying here would be the Strong Wifi! This would be my all time PREFERRED hotel to stay in should I stay over during weekends or for a short holiday with my family. Hopefully the hotel can come up with some loyalty or membership card for frequent traveller. Anyway, i have truly enjoyed my stay here.

Value for money and great location”

The hotel is just a walking distance to Komtar, City Square and Galleria@Kotaraya. Really like the newly renovated room but looking forward to the facilities the hotel would offer once renovation is completed. Like the door gift given upon arrival during the soft opening and especially the personalised note left on the dresser. The great view from the 19th floor room was a bonus to the three days and two nights stay at Jo Hotel. Thank you.

OLD but revamped Hotel”

The hotel was previously known as Tropical Inn Hotel, one of the longest standing building in JB. Great location, few minutes walk to Komtar and City Sq.. though alot of taxi driver was unaware about this hotel thinking that the hotel have shut down. Basic need for the room is provided, room are clean though the room can be looking a little tired. But comfortable stay. No in-room dining. There was an ongoing renovation throughout my stay there during the day. So we were woken up startled by drilling noise on saturday and sunday morning.

Overall good satisfaction with good service ”

Generally I had been staying this hotel for many years as last time name Tropical Inn , this year the name of the hotel had changed, I had book a family room so I need to accommodate my family during Chinggeh, given a room that really spacious and with a nice breakfast at TI Cafe which all the previous Tropical Inn cook the Nasi lemak still as good as before however there is no refill on food that previously Tropical Inn, I feel a bit pity about it, was told the hotel will have another group that will serve as food that is not managed by TI Cafe, hopefully The group of Cook from here will serve at this hotel will be great! I love the stuff attitude n helpfulness given me two card instead of one coz of Chinggeh Chinese new yr, I will definitely come back, btw air conditioning is very cold so need to bring extra blanket 😀

Value for money!”

Great location. Only 10 mins walk to City Square. Staff are polite and reception got a nice little snack for those waiting in line😋 I like the room. Cosy and have the necessity such as TV, bar fridge and basic toiletries set. Can be improved - toiletries set got include comb (we forgot to bring comb 😅) TV if got more program such as movie channel will be a plus! 😁 Downside will be: before check out time at 12, my room card already cannot use (1140) and my family were locked out of the room with our luggage inside. It will be nice if they give more time allowance till 12.15pm. Overall: this is a value for money hotel. Do try the massage chairs at lobby. Cheap & good!

New room with splendid view overlooking to Singapore. ”

The hotel is still under renovation, so it is very cheap booking on Agoda.com. The room assign to me was new and spacious. The location of the hotel is quite close to City Square and many of the eateries and Malls around.

Clean and Spacious”

It is located away from the noisy area and the hotel rooms are on level 17 and higher. Walkable distance (<10 min) to City Square and Komtar JBCC. The bed and pillows are very soft and comfortable. Will definitely choose here again!

Refurbished hotel ”

When i stayed there on 7/12/2019 the hotel had just reopened with a different name. Previously was Tropical Inn. They had refurbished the room. Looks a lot better than the old room. Check in took quite a while but its ok since maybe they are still new (1st week of reopen). Free parking. But no breakfast is available at the hotel. Overall i would recommend the hotel as its cheap and good for a night stop.

No-Frills Hotel”

Its within walking distance from the Customs and city square. The room is a no-frills property, everything you need is there. The aircon can be stronger, its centrally controlled. The theromostat dont seem to do anything though. The tv wasn't working in my room. But the wifi is pretty fast.

Jan 2020 Stay”

We stay here once a year, for overnight stay before continuing next journey. The bedroom had been refurbished since it’s change from previously Tropical Inn. We can sense there is a slight cost cutting measures implemented on the housekeeping as compared to previous management. I had to wipe the floor as there were oily mist, toilet paper left with half roll, water kettle is dirty (we don’t use it anyway). This is actually our 4th or 5th consecutive year we staying here, but never been such issue in the past. Anyway, we don’t mind, maybe just a one-off case. The beds and pillows seems new. Hot water, water pressure, aircon is perfect. Bedsheet, pillow case, towels are very clean. As good as 5-star hotel. Breakfast is only given choices from 2 set meals, instead of buffet. The portion is too little and looks very cheap unlike buffet style during Tropical Inn times. Overall it’s a very pleasant stay. Staffs are very helpful and polite. Will surely return again.

good place for someone who in to visit JB City withoir using transportation..just 5-10 min walking to nearest tourist attraction such as Komtar JBCC (Angry Bird Park),JB City Square,Bazar Karat,Galleria Kotaraya and many more.

Same great hotel. ”

Newly renovated at certain area and a change of new hotel name. Bed are super comfortable. Air con is controlled by pressing the button on the bedside desk. Great view of the custom building and the surrounding area. Location is within walking distance to Komtar - walking with caution especially at night.

Big room good view”

Hotel is an old building but Good view behind CIQ city square within walking distance of 10-15mins next to Double Tree hotel . Been upgraded to spacious Deluxe triple room as advantage Good jobs of helpful staff

Located inside JB tower”

It's in the city centre but there are renovation on going around but it's alright for me. The lift is quite old and the hotel rooms level is on the top few levels.

Great for a night”

Its location is terrific where near to City Square, JBCC and CIQ. However, this hotel is still under renovation so it was not clean as it should be. Carpark at basement is very dirty as well. Everything in this hotel is very old including the lifts, the room, the bathroom. You can't adjust the wind speed of the aircond. Bathroom easily get wet after shower. Wifi connection is poor as well. The worst was they ran out of hair dryer. If they know the hair dryers would be run out, they should collect them from the guests after half an hour or so. I have to sleep with my wet hair. What came worst is someone knocks my door at the middle of night. This hotel is not very secured as it should be. Overall, I don't think this hotel is ready yet to accept guests.

Worth money”

Room was nice. Bed was nice. Food was nice. Staff was friendly. Wifi abit slow due to weather. Walked abit far from main road n surrounded by construction sites at the time i stayed. Noise from Religious places. To me, i liked the place.

Exceeding my expectation ”

Hotel exterior is unassuming but room is very clean; towels n bed linens are new and fresh. Please continue to maintain this high standards. Highly recommended.

Hotel wit no signage at the entrance”

Overall is a pleasant stay at e hotel. The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. But the place is very hard to find although is jus 500 m from City square due to no hotel signage. We have to goggle to find the place. The hotel entrance is under major renovation so it will be inconvenient for those without car cos the road is not stable. We stay at family room. They only have a basic essential in the room.The cleanliness for me is ok .Is ok if to had a short stay.

An OK renovated hotel ”

Room is decent, recently renovated. Quiet room and good location, very close to Komtar JBCC/JB. Room is clean, but toilet was not flushed/cleaned properly and I saw a hair on the soap holder.
