Great value and good location, staff could be better”

K.B. Resort was an exceptional value for a beach front resort. My room was big, well appointed and very comfortable. Located right on Kai Bae beach you had the best of both worlds with a beachfront property and a full service town both within a minuets walk. There are a couple of highly rated (if overpriced) restaurants nearby. 7-11, pharmacy,massage, etc all nearby. My only complaints are that the staff are unresponsive and somewhat dismissive. Especially the restaurant where a club sandwich took a half hour to get and the quality was about as poor as you can make a club. The front desk feels like they just want you to go away and I got overcharged for a tour. However, if your ok eating elsewhere and booking your tours at tour agents on the street. K.B. offers you a great get away that’s easy to get to at an exceptional price.

I really enjoyed my time at KB Resort. I moved here from another area on Koh Chang, and it really is a very nice beach. The resort itself was one of the nicest places I stayed at my entire time in Thailand, though I was mostly staying at midrange guesthouses so this was a bit of a step up and a nice way to splash out and finish my trip. I didn't eat at the restaurant other than for the included breakfast, which was good, but the menu looked nice and was quite reasonably priced (though there are cheaper spots out on the main road if you're looking for that). The staff were great, my fan bungalow was spotless, and the pool was a nice way to find some shade. I didn't mind that there are no loungers on the beach because I prefer to spread out on the sand anyways. My only complaint, and it has nothing to do with the resort, is that this is the beach where they parade the baby elephants up and down. I don't want to turn my review of this lovely resort into a political or ethical statement, but look up the Phajaan (or 'breaking the spirit' - its what is done to the elephants when they are babies to make them conducive for work in tourism and other industries). Elephants on a tourist beach is a bad thing, not an attraction. Again though, nothing to do with the resort itself. I just didn't enjoy seeing it three or more times a day.

Beautiful resort for a relaxing beach holiday”

We loved staying at KB resort. The location was amazing - right on a lovely beach in Kai Bae around a range of restaurants and shops. The resort grounds were nice with trees, flowers, and lovely spaces to sit and look at the view. The Pool was lovely and big (although the water was quite warm). We could not fault the room - it was very clean and a good size. Reception staff were very kind and helpful, although the service from restaurant staff was poor. For the price we paid it was definitely worth it and we would highly recommend!

Low key and relaxing for young professionals not looking for a party”

KB Resort’s location is absolutely amazing, that alone was worth the price. The bungalows are slightly dated but still spacious and comfortable. Most other guests are families or older folk, but that was perfect for me as I wasn’t looking for a rowdy trip. Restaurant’s food is quite high quality (I only ate Thai food, however, why eat anything else while you’re here?) and you get an amazing view while dining. The grounds are clean and quiet, and the garden is tranquil while walking to the beach—which only takes all of 30 seconds. The staff was willing to help and provided great service, although at times at the restaurant they did not seem super enthused and bubbly as you might get in America, so please don’t hold that against them because at the end of the day they did a fantastic job, and you can tell they work very hard. If ever, and hopefully sooner rather than later, I return to Koh Chang, I will absolutely be staying with KB Resort again.

Great resort”

The superior double room was perfect and spacious. The facilities were great - massage on the beach and the pool, pool was clean and empty, the breakfast was plentiful and reception staff helpful. I felt that the restaurant staff didn't really care about customer service, the usually had their backs turned and after giving the initial order it was hard to get their attention. Food was expensive like usually at a seaside resort, but the portions were large and delicious and the view was great. Kae Bae was a lovely small village with a clean beach and although the beach was small, it was enough since there was also a spacious pool area as well as other beaches worth exploring around the island and nearby.

Fabulous holidays in K. B. Resort on Koh Chang”

The K. B. Resort on Koh Chang is located on a nice natural beach away from mass tourism (as far as possible). The hotel offers everything which makes a stay comfortable. Restaurants and bars are in walking distance. Other beaches on Koh Chang can be explored by taking a Songteo Taxi.

Great place to stay”

We had an amazing staying at K.B. Resort. There is nothing we didn‘t like about this resort. The stuff is very friendly and helps you whatever you need. It’s a good place to relax, but still close to lots of restaurants and shops. We definitely recommend to stay here!

Incredible locatoin, right on the beach, quiet, serene. ”

I love this hotel. I spent 5 nights here. Got an upgrade to a beachside bungalow as the place was empty due to global crisis. The staff is attentive and friendly. The location is amazing, right on the beach, and very quiet. It's really a beautiful paradise and no need to go anywhere can just relax on the beach, bar, restaurant pool. Wi-Fi is great was working from the restaurant and bungalow no problem via laptop. Aircon is new and hums very cool. bed is not amazing but decent and had great sleeps. Will definitely come back. This place is a hidden gem on Koh Chang.

We had a seawiew ..just..bungalow 30 seconds from the beach and the restaurant/bar. Excellent Location on Kai Bae beach for the local bars/ restaurants etc.

Beautiful location”

A very comfortable hotel right on Kai Bae beach. Handy to the village but quiet and restfull. Lovely beachside bar and restaurant and gardens. A block of rooms and also bungalows. Beachfront bungalow would be the top pick. A shame the pool closes at 7pm.

We enjoyed a great week at K.B. resort! Very relaxing, easy going, and overall no complaint. We especially want to thank you the very helpful staff at the reception! If someone forced me to complain about anything, it might have been the breakfast which could have a few more options.

Great resort, lovely beach..”

We booked a twin villa for myself and partner and his dad and his wife. The accommodation was very spacious and clean. There is a kettle with coffee / coffee mate in rooms (but no tea). Room safes and towels (room & beach) are provided. The beach, which is literally on the doorstep was lovely. The beach was quiet and had lovely sand. You can see the elephants walking along it a couple of times a day. The beach bar has a good selection, and a great view of the beach. We didn't eat at the restaurant so cannot comment on the food other than breakfast....which was the same as you get in most hotels in Thailand - choice of eggs, sausage, toast, Thai dishes, cakes, fruit, cereal... All of us would definitely recommend this resort for location, room quality & beach.

Loved it!”

Just spent an awesome 5 day holiday at KB resort. Three standard beach front villas were awesome. A walk through the garden villas was pleasant. The Thai villa was at the back of the property, right beside the pool for those with children. Food and bar selection great. Local shopping a plus and the little bar directly across the street from the resort entrance deserves a "high five" for being super friendly. Baby elephants are taken for a swim twice a day so photo ops, although it appeared to be a look don't touch situation. The beach is cleaned every morning. Highly recommended.

We have been to Koh Chang many times. We found the location,price and facilities of KB Resort to be perfect for us. Beach, pool and shops/restaurants all within 1-2 minute walk.

The perfect one week holidays”

Second journey in this resort and everything was great: breakfast, swimming pool, the room and the beach. For my next trip in Koh Chang, I will come back here for sure.

Loved the cottages”

We had 3 nights at this resort and certainly enjoyed it. The first 2 nights were in a sea-view cottage ( I had expected this to mean we were on the beach but in fact it was a row or so back, but we could see a bit of the beach). The final night we needed to move to a garden view cottage but the staff were helpful and had it ready quickly for us. The cottages are new, fresh and modern. They aren't huge but we weren't inside that much. The breakfast buffet had lots of selection and the one supper meal we had was very good as well ( though quite slow in being served). It was a treat to watch 4 baby elephants from nearby walk by the restaurant each morning during breakfast. They would come periodically through the day as well and were certainly an attraction on the beach. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I would definitely stay at this resort again and appreciated that it is in a quieter area of the island.

Great for families with small children ”

Spacious rooms, king size bed and comfortable bunk bed, beautiful garden with a small child playground area and excellent pool (with a slide that children appreciate), right on the beach. It gives you the sense of privacy, the resort area is not crowded, although main street that runs just behind the resort offers a variety of restaurants, shops, faraway, laundry service and some souvenir shops. Breakfast could be improved (not many options, lacking fruit), there are no sun beds on the beach.

Great value for money”

The hotel is clean, staff speaks English (not all) and the location is great. The beach is not crowded and offers beautiful sand and water. Breakfast offers Western dishes as well as Thai food and the dishes change every day. BBQ in the evening is a must try and very delicious. They have fresh fish, seafood, huge kebab skewers and meat. Other restaurants are near by and easy to reach (walking distance 10 minutes). The entire area is quiet but offers pretty cool bars. The backpacker beach "Lonely beach is easy to reach via motorbike or taxi (10 minutes drive). We were very happy and will come back :-)

A fabulous find”

Picturesque setting with thoughtful and helpful staff. We stayed in a twin villa which was comfortable and within ocean view. KB Resort was a wonderful choice for our first visit to Koh Chang.

Nice family beach resort”

One of my fabourite places on Koh Chang: directly on a sandy beach with cottages in a beautiful tropical garden. Many bars, restaurants and shops just outside the resort. Rooms in the main building are very nice as well. Good restaurant and beach bar.
