Find hotels near Kamakura in Kamakura, Japan

My family of 3 senior elders stayed at Sotestu Fresa Inn Kamakura Ofuna for 4 nights for our travel in Kanagawa province. The hotel is very close to Ofuna train station with just 5 minutes walk, which easy to commute to other cities of our destination such as Yokohama, Kamakura, Fujisawa, Hakone. There are many stores and restaurants around the hotels which is great to spend your time shopping and eating. The room is clean, a bit cramped but that is what most hotel in Japan is. The facilities are in full-functions. The cafe is connected to the hotel which convenient for breakfast with only 550 yen per person which considered quite cheap for a meal in Japan. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They always welcome and send you off with smiles on their faces. We had a pleasant time.

Hostel is literally brand new with modern facilities including a spacious restaurant and common bath house (an artificial onsen). Beds were very comfortable. Lockable cabinet in rooms. Breakfast was included and was very basic (toast, cereal, juice, tea) but still nice. Hostel is a little far from Kamakura station (20 minute walk) if you have big bags, but there is an Enoden (local train) stop 5 minutes away that connects to kamakura station. This was easily the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed my stay in a Plage Yuigahama. I was a perfect location for me since I wanted to stay near the beach which is only 3 minutes away by foot. You can also go to Enoshima Island which is about 7km from the Guesthouse. The closest convenience store is about 3 minutes away (Lawson) and the city center is also within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again when I visit Kamakura again.

Overall, a very pleasant stay. We arrived around 1:30 and were able to check in to our room early. The woman who greeted us spoke good English and was very kawaii and Genki! We really felt welcomed by her and a man who worked there whose name was pronounced 'mah key'. They were both very welcoming and sweet. We paid 500 yen for dinner and 500 for breakfast per person and were quite happy with the food. The western breakfast was delicious and the dinner was a whole selection of little Portions, rice, salad, miso, some vegetable/meat soup and fried veggies. A nice change from the ramen we were used to eating :) I think what we wer disappointed with during our stay was the lack of interaction in the evening. Maybe it just wasn't busy season when we went but we expected the bar to be more like a bar (socializing, etc) but it seemed more like a guy made drinks in the corner of his living room if you asked him too. This turned out to be fine though since it meant you were able to relax in peace in the common room at night. This leads into the other potential downside of staying here: we stayed in the twin bunk bed room for two and it is literally no bigger than the bed itself. Very hard to relax or do anything but sleep in. Location: 15 min walk from great buddha, 5 min walk from one of the main temples. 25 minute walk from 'downtown' kamakura (shopping street) but can easily take tram

Our hosts made us feel very, very welcome. They provided great tips for sightseeing in the local area, and made us the best breakfast we had in our whole time in Japan. They also provided some of the best tea and coffee we had in our time in Japan! It felt like we were special guests in their house! We only stayed one night, but if we'd realised how friendly the welcome would be, we'd have stayed longer. Be aware that the room can get some road noise, but the hosts provide ear plugs to keep the noise down if it bothers you.

This is the 1st time I have encountered a dirty accommodation in Japan. The cutlery are not cleaned properly, I even found egg york stains on the plates provided. The whole kitchen is laced with a layer dirty oil film. You can even spot soy sauce spill in the mini bar fridge. The tap head also fallen off from the tap fixtures. I also spotted uncleared filter bag in the washing machine..............., the list goes on and on The only plus point is the size of the apartment and the location, close to the shopping thoroughfare and Karamura train station.

The place is nice. Walkable from Kamakura Station (5 minutes) and around 15 minutes walk to go to the beach. If you don't mind walking, this is okay. There would be a little walk to the nearest bus station too. Staff is awesome. I'm not sure if it was meant to happen but I used one toilet one time, it was around 11pm but the washlet wasn't working. I went to use the other toilet and luckily, the washlet was working. I never tried the other toilet again. Other than that the place was great. I think it's a little expensive but I think that is the market for the area.
