exceptional staff, amazing resort”

The staff was one of the major reasons we extended our stay. Exceptional team! Just the hardest working and loveliest people! always smiling and up for a joke. The kitchen also is amazing. A few nights we went some where else for dinner but we would always return to Kantiang Bay View‘s restaurant the next night. Especially for the cocktails, fire show and live music every single night at the on-site Why Not Bar. Kantiang bay view is situated on a lonely beach which is less than 50m away from the Bunalows. For the daytrips you don’t have to travel far as you’ll be picked up right at this bay . Since the Hotel is in the South of Lanta the most beautiful lonely beaches and jungle landscapes are within reach as well as everything else one could possibly need. (ATM, 7/11, souvenir shops, scooter rental, pharmacy and massage ) still it is far enough from all the touristy masses up north. We‘ll definitely come back!

Wonderful!”

The setting is perfect for a relaxing holiday - Kantiang is a beautiful unspoilt bay - and there was just enough in the way of facilities to have everything we needed without it being too busy. The resort itself is set among trees and we were treated to displays from two kinds of bats every night, plus a variety of other wildlife, and it was 30 seconds walk to get into the lovely warm sea. The rooms were clean and roomy, the staff pleasant and helpful and it was no trouble to arrange excursions etc. Food was always available in the open-air shaded restaurant and having the Why Not bar on site was a great bonus too. Perfect!

Great stay, would recommend! ”

We booked the deluxe room with partial sea view. The room is v clean and the bathroom is modern. It’s located v close to the why not rock n roll bar, so if you are are early bird sleepers it can get a loud with live music. There is a little terrace at the entrance of the room and it’s nice to hang out there if you fancy being away from the bar but can hear and see it all, nice way to end the night. Didn’t eat at the restaurant but did at the resort to the right of why not bar and it’s worth a visit. The staff are very friendly and want to help and also very smiley. Kantiang bay beach is a nice place for a swim too.

Outstanding location, but...”

fantastic location on Kantiang bay. Really nice bar with fire show every night. Staff extremely nice and helpful. however, we got the partial sea view room, which was 1600 Bhat, and room was cozy, but in a bad shape: bathroom door was damaged and could not be shut; there were no beside/reading lamps; some of the ceiling lights were broken; sheet had small holes; very sparse furnishing. of course, you will spend most of your time outside, so room comfort is not essential. it does show, however, a lack of care b considering the price. but location can't be beat, and there are cheaper rooms.

Good location”

Nice resort in the beautiful Kentiang Bay with powder soft sand. Had a spacious room in the main building with sea view and a very comfortable bed. Many nice restaurants, bars an a 7/11 in walking distance. The staff wasn’t very welcoming nor friendly, though.

Garden view rooms are good, standard rooms - not”

This was our second stay in this hotel. Compared to the previous visit, the hotel has improved in terms of cleanliness, but not in terms of service. This time we hired garden view rooms and a standard room. Garden view rooms are basic rooms, but cleaned daily and for these rooms new towels and bed linen are provided. Standard rooms are pretty dated, out of 5 days stay, room was only cleaned once, after a strong request. Main advantages of this hotel still are its excellent location - right on wonderful Kantiang Beach, and Why Not Bar - the highlight of entire Lanta: amazing staff, live music, fire shows, good drinks and tasty food. For someone considering this hotel I would recommend to book garden view rooms.

Beachfront bungalow”

Me and my partner stayed at the Beachfront Bungalow (there's only one right on the beach) and loved it! The bed was comfy, airco worked, room is spacious and there's great outdoor seating. The tv didn't work but that didn't bother us. Toilet was also leaking but we could live with that too. Bungalow is next to hello massage. We could see the restaurant and bar from our terrace. Restaurant is a great place to hang out although the food wasn't so great. Small portions and average taste. There are better places on the main road (few min walk). Its about 50min to the ferry but worthwhile if you prefer a quiet and beautiful beach. Resort rents motorbikes which is the best way to explore (national park is 10-15 min away). We received a warm welcome at reception from one guy but the rest of the staff couldn't be bothered. The only interaction during our stay was 'pay now' as soon as we received an order. All by all, we enjoyed staying at katiang bay and would recommend the beachfront

Good but would stay next door next time”

Pros -Clean -Spacious -On the beach -Can rent motor bike right from hotel Cons -no safety deposit box -staff too laid back with regards to renting motor bikes: when we rented a motor bike they didn't provide helmets we had to ask, they didn't provide a full tutorial on how to drive/operate it we had to ask (but we didn't know what to ask really luckily some random tourists we ran into were super helpful), they gave us a bike with broken head light and basically empty on gas claiming that everything would be fine just go fill up -the beach can be nice but is often not (big waves, lots of rocks in low tide, and we even saw a giant anchor revealed during low tide I would hate to step on that accidentally when there is a high tide) -koh lanta in general is kinda remote and there isn't much to do, or a lot of food options (no fault of the hotel) Next time in Koh lanta I would stay at the place next door because they had a pool which would be nice to use when the ocean is dangerous.

Nice bungalow, and we had the sea view which was great, staff was friendly and helpful, lovely beach ....nice bar (WHY BAR) next to the hotel and great amazing fire show at the beach every evening, renting a scooter to explore KOH Lanta from them was easy, and they where in great shape. One recommendation please create some shade on your part of the beach...some umbrellas would be helpful!

Sweet spot in Kantiang Bay”

Really enjoyed KANTIANG bay, and the Vew resort was ideally situated in the middle of it all. Good rooms, good value for money, sweet bar with good vibes and an impressive fire show. Don't miss drunken sailor around the corner.

Amazing place and rooms, same live music every day”

Whole resort is literally on the beach. We had a room on the first floor with a nice see view. Rooms are well equipped, comfy bed. Staff is nice and helpful. Minor problem is that on our terrace we smelt the kitchen during evenings. Also there is a fires show and live music everyday till around midnight. The program and playlist is always the same, which is little bit stereotypical. Nearby restaurant was nothing special, but not bad. Definitely great location and value for the money.

Great location and price”

Pros: location, staff, food and surrounding location, right on the bay. Cons: (this is most of Thailand so I wouldnt blame them). Water line broke so we didn't have water for a day. Then the next day the power went out for an hour or so. It quickly came back on after someone fixed it. Overall, great place and location. Could use renovation but most of Thailand could. We loved it. Would definitely recommend.

Stunning location”

For us this was the nicest resort on the Island, right on the beach with a choice of places to eat only a short walk away, hire a bike and explore the island, everybody here is friendly and helpful. The beach front hut was large with a big comfy bed If you want your room cleaning just ask at reception, enjoy the chilled vibe from the 'why not bar', or walk along the beach to watch the sunset from the clifftop view point.

Excellent Location, Standard Accommodations, & Moderate Cleanliness”

This place has a great location right next to the beach. We actually ended up staying for 8 nights in total with two separate bookings. As a result, we had to switch one of our two rooms halfway through, which was fine. Two of our rooms had older AC units that had filters which had apparently never been cleaned. We did this ourselves in the shower which took all of 10 minutes, and greatly improved the airflow from the units. The other room had a newer AC unit with fairly clean filters. I have a theory that the resort simply replaces the entire AC unit once the filters become too clogged and ruin the whole system, rather than simply clean them regularly. Everything else about the rooms was relatively clean, except one of the rooms sometimes had a wafting sewage smell from the bathroom requiring us to leave the door closed, which you want to do anyway to keep the room cool. Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant was decent and Why Not Bar’s nightly fire show on the beach was neat. The massages were overpriced when you could simply go to the resort next door and get one in their rooftop spa for 100B less. My favourite part about staying here was being so close to Drunken Sailors restaurant. As someone who lives for spicy Thai and comfort foods, I could not get enough of that place, eating there for every meal as long as they were open. If you’re willing to spend a bit more, stay somewhere down the street. If you’re more value-minded and want to be in a nice beachside location, then I don’t think this resort will disappoint you.

Perfect Beach Front Bungalow”

We loved our 3 days here! We were lucky enough to secure the beach front bungalow which sits literally on the beach! It’s a basic bungalow that’s clean and has its own bathroom. Staff were all really friendly. The food from the restaurant was some of the best food we have had in Thailand! The Why Not bar is a stones throw away and has a great vibe. Live music and great drinks late into the night and a fantastic fireshow each night. Perfect getaway for those who love the beach! Some reviews state the rooms weren’t cleaned during stays. This is true, no housekeepers visited, however we made the effort to take our shoes off outside like the Thai tradition and this helped to keep our room clear of sand. We didn’t really see it as a problem, we don’t clean our house every day at home! We would definitely stay here again.

There are pros and cons to staying here”

I took a bungalow facing the sea on the beach and the location was fantastic and close to lots of facilities including a 7 eleven, restaurants, a nurse and various tour operators. The bungalow itself was basic but pretty with a fantastic bar just a few metres away called the Why Not bar where the staff are amazing and bar features a daily fireshow and live music. Air con was good. I do like to leave honest reviews so here are the cons. The bungalow doors did not shut ‘tight’ and the locking system was rudimentary. There was no safe, my room was not cleaned not my bed or towels refreshed although I do wonder whether that was something I had to ask for but was not informed perhaps. I only got bottle water given on my first day unlike everywhere else I’ve stayed where you get free bottles daily. All of this I worked around but sadly the room is not a sealed room and I woke to find myself covered in ants which bit me throughout the night. I was constantly sweeping them from my bed and found myself not sleeping very well due to this. I think you have to accept that if you want a beach bungalow, you have to take into account that these things happen. I do not see this a flaw of the resort, more just a downside to the type of accommodation it is...

Above average”

The only nice thing about the resort is proximity to the Kantiang beach. The internet is never working, the worst one in Koh Lanta, so if you need to do any work or contact old parents you have o search hotels near by. The staff did not make any effort to make place more socially interesting, for example a ping pong table or a pool table or darts. You are the slave o one single bar where the main attraction is the same fire show every night. Basic furniture in he room.

Relaxed beachside resort”

Nice spacious rooms and the most comfortable beds we slept on while on Ko Lanta.

Amazing location right in the middle of everything, Staff left much to be desired”

I enjoyed staying here. It was my last few nights in Thailand so I thought I'd spoil myself. The room is literally right on the beach, right above Why Not Bar, where they do live music and fire shows. The band even invited me on stage to sing a few tunes. I had a wonderful time. The staff was just OK - they all seemed to have this weird, un-helpful vibe to them, but that was fine because I didn't need much assistance at that point in my trip anyway. But it would've been nice to be greeted with more smiles. I have a show on Friday 2/24, 10pm at Cello Wine Bar in Midtown East (right off the E). And another show on Sat 2/25 8pm at Fat Baby in the LES. U and Mike should toats join. The room was clean. Overall, considering the incredible location, I felt it was priced fairly.

Wonderful Resort”

Pro: we had a great room with ocean view, clean room and great staff! Food was amazing and the bar was awesome! They had live music and an excellent fire show, the best fire show I’ve seen! We rented scooters and drove around the island, which was so fun! Only con was the WiFi was hit or miss...not great.
